From the Pastor s Desk Dear Friends! We are celebrating the second week of Lent. During this time we meditate on the mysteries of the cross and the death of Jesus and attend the Stations of the Cross on Fridays. During this important time of the liturgical year let us pray, fast and give alms. Parishioners, who took the Operation Rice Bowl containers on Ash Wednesday, please remember to bring your offerings back to church on Palm Sunday. On the usher s table, in the back of the church, we have for you the Holy Week Schedules with dates and times of the parish Confessions and Holy Week Masses. Please make sure to take one home with you. Having this schedule at home will make it easier for you and your family to keep in touch with our beloved church. I invite you to join us for the Fish Fry Fridays. Our volunteers prepared for you an extensive menu of delicious fish and shrimp dinners as well as other enjoyable meals. They may be purchased at a very reasonable price and take outs are available. Saturday and Sunday (March 18 & 19) we will celebrate the feasts of St. Patrick and St. Joseph. Please join us Saturday after the 5:00 pm Mass in Rogers Hall for delicious Italian food and dessert (for a free will donation), and Sunday morning for a Sweet Table. Saturday, March 18 th We will be celebrating St. Patrick who was a Christian missionary involved in the evangelization of Ireland. Called in a dream to bring Christianity to the Irish, he explained the notion of the Holy Trinity using the shamrock, now the national flower of Ireland. After mass, come downstairs to honor another special saint by enjoying the St Joseph Table. This year s dinner will be held on Saturday, March 18th after the 5 p.m. Mass. Please join us in Rogers Hall for a delicious dinner of spaghetti and meatballs, casseroles, meatless dishes, salad and dessert for your free will donation. Come and celebrate two wonderful traditions. There will also be a bake sale both Saturday evening and Sunday (March 19th) morning so you can take home some tasty treats (while supplies last). All proceeds will go to the St. Vincent de Paul Society to help the needy in our own community. Once again we are asking for donations of your favorite dishes, breads, home baked goodies, flowers for the St. Joseph Altar, etc. Because we are also having the bake sale on Sunday, more donations are needed. Trwa czas Wielkiego Postu, czas kiedy rozważamy tajemnicę Krzyża i śmierci Pana Jezusa, czas kiedy wspólnie w piątki celebrujemy nabożeństwa Drogi Krzyżowej w języku angielskim, polskim i hiszpańskim oraz celebrujemy nasze polskie Gorzkie Żale w niedzielę. Proszę was wszystkich, byśmy w tym świętym czasie Postu byli jedną kochającą się rodziną parafialną. Praktykujmy także w tym czasie uczynki postne: post, modlitwę i jałmużnę. W Popielec zabraliśmy z naszego kościoła skarbonki miski ryżu. Proszę was aby wypełnione drobnymi ofiarami skarbonki przynieść z powrotem do naszego kościoła w Niedzielę Palmową. Wciąż możemy także w tyle naszego kościoła lub u marszałków zabrać specjalne kartki z rozkładem naszych parafialnych spowiedzi przed Wielkanocą. Znajdziecie tam także rozkład nabożeństw w Wielkim Tygodniu, godziny święceń pokarmów wielkanocnych oraz rozkład nabożeństw w Wielkanoc i w drugi dzień Świąt. Połóżcie ten rozkład na lodówce lub na stole i miejcie go nieustannie przed oczami. Z pewnością ten rozkład ułatwi nam wszystkim kontakt z naszym ukochanym kościołem. Dziś zaczynamy w naszej rodzinie parafialnej wielkopostne ćwiczenia duchowe. Witamy wśród nas o. Łukasza Buksę. Rekolekcje nasze potrwają do środy 15 marca. Kazania rekolekcyjne będą głoszone dziś w czasie wszystkich polskich nabożeństw oraz w poniedziałek, wtorek i środę o godz. 12 w południe i o godz. 7 wieczorem. Serdecznie zapraszamy! W tym samym czasie będziemy mieć także rekolekcje dla wszystkich dzieci naszej parafii w sąsiednim budynku zwanym St. Albert Room o godz. 7 wieczorem! W dalszym ciągu zachęcam was do licznego udziału w naszych piątkowych obiadach rybnych od godz. 4:00 do 7:30 wieczorem. W sobotę po Mszy Świętej o godz. 5 popołudniu w sali pod kościołem będziemy mogli zjeść za dowolną opłatą wspaniałe włoskie jedzenie (pasta, spaghetti, sałaty, chleb, ciasto, wino). Również w niedzielę (19 marca) po każdej Mszy Świętej dopołudnia zapraszamy do sali pod kościołem na tzw. słodki stół (ciasto i kawa). Proszę, bądźmy razem! Wraz z naszymi księżmi i siostrami zakonnymi zapraszamy was do jak najliczniejszego udziału w Misterium Męki Pańskiej dnia 1 kwietnia (sobota) o godz. 6:00 wieczorem w języku angielskim i o godz. 7:30 wieczorem w języku polskim. The pilgrim Church is required to do one thing on its Lenten journey: to walk continually with Christ as his Body born of water and the Spirit, seeking God s will, helping the reign of God to be known on earth, being led to the end of our journey, transfigured for all time into the company of heaven.
