From the Pastor s Desk Dearly Beloved! Our Parish Carnival begins this coming Thursday ( August 24th). Please, pray for good sunny weather, all parishioners support and good attendance, as well as safety throughout the entire 4 days (August 24th -27th). Let us pray for next year s carnival return to our parish. Please join us this year for fun, games, music and good food; bring your families and friends. Let this be a time of fun and joy spent in the company of your fellow parishioners and your loved ones. May our attendance be a symbol of commitment to our parish and our second home St. Albert the Great Church. Everything we accomplished during the past year is the fruit of your prayers and financial support. Mega passes for all carnival rides can be purchased today in the church vestibule, and on Monday and Tuesday in the parish office. Mega pass cost $50.00 each, and could make a wonderful gift for your children. This year, in addition to the local food vendors, we will sell dishes from our international parish kitchens. Thursday we will have the Filipino food, Friday Mexican, Saturday Polish, Sunday - Parish Sweet Table, and coffee. We are looking for donations of baked goods for our Carnival Sweet Table. Please drop off your pastries at the carnival - Sunday after the 12:00 pm Mass. This year at the carnival, among raffles and jar games, we will we will hold Bingo games. We are still looking for Carnival Silent Auction donations. Please bring your items by Wednesday, August 23rd to the parish office. Please, accept my most sincere thanks for all your support and help you have shown so far. Tomorrow (August 21st) after the summer break St. Albert the Great School will begin a new school year. After many improvements, such as painted hallways, air conditioners in classrooms, a new heating boiler, new electrical and alarm systems, new playground, security cameras for our children s safety, and flowers - our school looks so different, and so much better! Saturday, August 26th is the Feast of Our Lady of Czestochowa Queen of Poland. On that occasion, on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 7:00 p.m. we will celebrate a Holy Mass with Litany to Our Lady of Czestochowa, and Saturday at 9:30 a.m. (All Masses will be celebrated in Polish language). I urge all parents to register their children for our parish school (Polish Schools; Fr. Ignacy Posadzy and Adam Mickiewicz, CCD program for children who attend public schools and the SPRED program for children with special needs). In a special way, I invite all parents to register their children for the St. Albert the Great Grammar School (We offer programs in English, Polish and Spanish language, and tuition for the 2017/2018 has been substantially decreased). For more detailed information, please call the school secretary Mrs. Kasia Krol. Dearly beloved, I would like to thank you for all your daily kindness and support for our parish. Z biurka Ks. Proboszcza Moi Kochani! W te dni karnawału proszę was, abyśmy byli razem! Zaproście waszych krewnych, bliskich, znajomych i sąsiadów. W czwartek będziemy kosztować potrawy filipińskie, w piątek potrawy meksykańskie, w sobotę delektować się będziemy jedzeniem polskim, a w niedzielę będziemy mieć parafialny słodki stół z kubkiem wyśmienitej i smacznej kawy. Wszystkie te rzeczy proszę przynosić do środy i zostawić je w kancelarii parafialnej. 7 wieczorem zapraszamy do udziału we Mszy Świętej połączonej z odmawianiem Litanii do Matki Bożej Częstochowskiej. Nasze trzydniowe czuwanie modlitewne zakończymy uroczystą Mszą Święta w sobotę 26 sierpnia o godz. 9:30 rano. Serdecznie zapraszamy was do licznego udziału w tych pięknych nabożeństwach. Wciąż zachęcam do zapisywania swoich dzieci do naszych szkół, które istnieją i działają przy naszym kościele (Szkoła Katolicka św. Alberta Wielkiego, CCD, SPRED, oraz dwie Poklskie Szkoły im. ks. Ignacego Posadzego oraz im. Adama Mickiewicza). 9:30 rano!

(Psalm 67:4) today s psalm response exclaims. In the psalms and other Hebrew scriptures, this kind of invocation is actually an invitation to God to act, to intervene in human lives in a manner that will cause everyone not just the Chosen People to give praise. Stated a bit more strongly, it is something of a put up or shut up challenge to God, the sort of strong statement the psalmists of Israel, trusting in their intimate and loving relationship with God, were not afraid to make. The Gospel has its own exclamation, announcing the appearance of the Canaanite woman with Behold! (Matthew 15:22) Behold! is a scriptural flag that tells us that God is about to act or announce something through an individual or a situation. In the case of Jesus, God was going to act through this woman, whom nobody among Jesus followers would have believed to be an agent of the divine will. Like the psalmists, we might passively inform or perhaps even actively challenge God to do something so that everyone will come to belief, but God will always turn the tables on us. It becomes our calling, our duty (as it was for Jesus) to behold the situations and persons of our daily lives so that God can act through us, so the Kingdom can be announced through our living.
