My Dearly Beloved! From the Pastor s Desk November is almost here; this is a month of special prayers in the memory of those who have gone from us to the House of the Lord. A few weeks ago during our parish pilgrimage to Noah's Ark in Kentucky, along the highway I saw a very interesting sign which read: "What is Heaven? Heaven is the other side of the Earth "! Let us remember that each day, week, and month many of us make the journey to the other side; to the House of the Lord! During this particular time, I ask you; please, pray more than usual, especially for our deceased loved ones and friends. Let us offer in their intention our prayers, confessions, Holy Communion, our suffering, and our daily work. On this occasion, I invite you and your families to take part in Holy Masses on the Feast of All Saints (a Holy day of obligation), and All the Faithful Departed the All Souls ' Day. Please, check the parish bulletin for a complete Mass Schedule. Today after each Mass you may buy lanterns, which can be lit on the graves of your departed loved ones. Sunday, November 12 at 3:00 pm. we will celebrate a special Mass for all the deceased whose funerals were held last year in our Church. I invite all relatives and friends of those who have passed away with faith into eternal peace, to participate in this Mass. Please remember to push back your clocks Saturday night (November 4th). Next weekend we sleep one hour longer! I would like to wholeheartedly thank all who made donations toward the bas-relief sculptures (of Mary, Our Lady of Sorrows and John the Evangelist) for the altar. It is because of your kindness and generosity that in a near future these bas-reliefs will be placed on each side of the Crucified Jesus in the presbytery. If anyone else would like to make a donations toward this special undertaking, please contact me or the parish office. All benefactors will be remembered in a special way by our Church. Soon I will give you the names of our benefactors. As we ponder the mysteries of life and death, let this particular time in November be filled with faith, hope, love, and trust in God's mercy! Every one of us should be: The Light of Love, the Bread of Peace, and the Wine of Friendship! Jesus, I trust in You! Fr. Mariusz Page 3

Moi Kochani! Z biurka Ks. Niebo to druga strona ziemi! Wypominki, ofiarujmy naszą spowiedź świętą, Komunię Świętą, nasze cierpienia i codzienną pracę. Zapraszam was wszystkich z całymi rodzinami do udziału w specjalnych Mszach Świętych w Uroczystość Wszystkich Świętych oraz w Dzień Wszystkich Wiernych Zmarłych-Dzień Zaduszny. Jana Ewangelisty i Matki Bożej Bolesnej. W niedalekiej przyszłości podam wam imiona i nazwiska naszych ofiarodawców-dobrodziejów. Niech ten szczególny listopadowy czas, czas zadumy nad życiem i śmiercią będzie wypełniony wiarą, nadzieją, miłością i ufnością w Boże Miłosierdzie! Każdy z nas powinien być codziennie: Światłem Miłości, Chlebem Pokoju i Winem Przyjaźni! Jezu, ufam Tobie Ks. Mariusz Święto Wszystkich Świętych W tym roku Święto Wszystkich Świętych 1-go listopada przypada w środę. Msze Święte w j. polskim odbędą się o godz. 7:30 rano, 12:00 w południe i 6:30 wieczorem. W Dzień Zaduszny - 2go listopada Msze Święte w j. polskim będą odprawione również o godz. 7:30 rano, 12:00 w południe i 6:30 wieczorem. Zapraszamy wszystkich do udziału we Mszy Świętej i Różańcu 30go października (poniedziałek)o godz. Zadbajmy o to, by Najświętszy Sakrament nie pozostawał sam. The big-spending sugar shock holiday is a long way removed from Thursday s grateful remembrance of the souls who are hidden from our sight, but alive to Christ. Old pagan superstitions might find us holding our breath when going by the graveyard, whereas others might actually go to the cemetery to tend the family graves, to share good food, and remember dear ones. Nowhere does a culture embrace this day as fully as in Mexico. The Day of the Dead is a national holiday that unfolds over three full days. For three thousand years, the indigenous people of Mexico have been mocking death in an annual festival, and the invading Spaniards were shocked at the spectacle. To the Aztecs, life was a dream, and death was the entry into full life. Skulls were thus a symbol of joy and release from life s sorrows. The missionaries found all this a bit creepy, but they moved the three-day feast from August to synchronize it with the Christian calendar. So today, graves are decorated, altars are built in the home to honor the family dead, children feast on candy skulls, and people dress up in elaborate skeleton outfits. The devout spend hours in the cemetery, and there is a lively sense of the communion of saints, the living and the dead. Rev. James Field, Copyright J. S. Paluch Co.
