WISDOM We consider wisdom today. The first reading from the book of Wisdom presents this precious gift as a feminine spirit, a very desirable virtue sought by many and graciously present to all who seek her. In today's Gospel, Jesus tells a parable to illustrate wisdom in a practical, measurable way. The wise will conserve their resources, use them prudently, and mark the passing of time. The foolish, on the other hand, not planning ahead, will be in the dark. Both of these readings tell us how accessible wisdom is to all who simply and honestly seek it. Paul's words to the Thessalonians are not about wisdom, but describe one result of true wisdom: To the wise person of faith even death holds no terror. Our faith in Jesus' resurrection tells us we will all one day rise to new life in Christ. Copyright J. S. Paluch Co., Inc. From the Pastor s Desk - Happy 68th Parish Anniversary! My Dearly Beloved! I feel very happy and blessed to celebrate together with all parishioners of St. Albert the Great the 68th Anniversary of our parish (Wednesday, November 15th). A sixty eight years have passed since the ground was broken for the foundation of St. Albert the Great Church. Because of you this parish is still growing strong and more beautiful in many ways. In the past year alone we celebrated 146 Baptisms, 148 1st Communions, 125 Confirmations, 37 Weddings, and made countless improvements to the buildings and the parish grounds. Our parish is doing well because of the kind and good-hearted parishioners like you. Let us all remember in prayers the first founders of our church, and pray to God through the intercession of our patron St. Albert the Great, for blessings, good health and gifts of the Holy Spirit for our St. Albert the Great entire parish family. May Our Good Lord always bless you and reward you for everything you do Parish 1949-2017 for this House of God and Our Home, which we call St. Albert the Great! I invite all of you to take part in one of the morning Masses on Wednesday, November 15th. After each Mass we will have for you in Rogers Hall coffee and cake. Please join us in this very special celebration! Today I would like to take the opportunity to express my gratitude to parishioners who donated funds for our two beautiful bas-relief sculptures of Our Lady of Sorrows and St. John the Evangelist. Moi Umiłowani Parafianie! Z biurka Ks. Proboszcza Jestem bardzo szczęśliwy, że w tym tygodniu (środa 15 listopada) wraz z wami będę celebrować wspomnienie naszego Patrona Świętego Alberta Wielkiego. Ponad 68 lat temu nasza wspólnota parafialna została powołana do istnienia i wciąż nieustannie wzrasta w wierze, nadziei, miłości, ufności, radości, jedności i radości. Tylko w ostatnim roku w naszej wspólnocie parafialnej celebrowaliści: 146 chrztów; 148 dzieci przystapiło do pierwszej Komunii Świętej; do bierzmowania przystąpiło 125 młodych ludzi; 37 par małżeńskich powiedziało sakramentalne TAK. Jezu, ufam Tobie! Fr. In the last years of the Tridentine Mass, the early 1960s, we tended to see children as miniature adults. Fully rooted in the Sunday assembly by the decision of Pope Saint Pius X to push Communion back to the age of seven or so from the standard age of twelve to fourteen years during the early 1900s, children were still more tolerated than acknowledged. The Mass was in Latin, and by the 1960s the people had begun to regain their voices in the dialogue Mass, so the focus was on training little children to recite or sing in Latin. The new attention to the experience of children, their ability to enter into ritual, their spontaneity, their ability to grasp key concepts in faith, felt untraditional. Yet we can trace in our tradition the ways in which children have long been given a special place in the assembly. From earliest times, boys have served in choirs and certain ministries in monasteries and in parish churches. Girls were sometimes entrusted to nuns, learning liturgical chants and the arts. Yet, in our day, the formation of a Lectionary for children and Eucharistic Prayers suited to them are truly tremendous breakthroughs in our treasury of prayer. Rev. James Field, Copyright J. S.
