From the Pastor s Desk My beloved Brothers and Sisters! You surprise me more and more, each day, week, month. What does it mean? Writing these words I think of our Stations of the Cross through the streets of Burbank, which was exactly a week ago on Saturday March 10th. I think about the thousands of faithful who, with faith, hope, love, confidence, and joy adored during our procession of the Cross of Jesus. I think about each of you, I think about the children, youth, entire families, and elders; I think about the Highlanders, coal miners, steelworkers, the faithful who in their regional costumes meditated on the passion of Our Lord Jesus; I think also about our brothers and sisters in the faith who prayed with us in English, Polish and Spanish, and thank from the bottom of my heart all those who in person participated in the Stations of the Cross. My heartfelt thank you goes out to all those who spiritually by suffering and prayer in their houses, in social care homes or hospitals connected with us during the Stations of the Cross. I already invite all of you to the next year s Stations of the Cross (April 13, 2019-Saturday before Palm Sunday at 7:00 pm)! It s so wonderful that you are here!!! Now, I would like to thank all those who were helped in the preparation and securing our Stations of the Cross procession. My Dearly Beloved, I embrace all of you with my prayer of gratitude and thanksgiving! This week Mr. Artur Wincenciak (artist) worked on the restoration of the large cross in the presbytery. He exposed wounds of the Lord Jesus, attached the new plate above the head of Jesus with the inscription "INRI", re-painted the cloth wrapped around the waist of Jesus. In the future, we will restore the Stations of the Cross inside our Church. Last week we painted and decorated parish offices in the administration building. We also ordered figurines of angels, which in the future will stand by the Tabernacle in the Church and in the adoration chapel. If someone would like to make a donation for these angels, either for church or the chapel, please contact me or the parish office. The cost of the figures is $1,000.00. All donors names will be engraved on a special plate and placed in the chapel of our Lady of Czestochowa. I urge you to consider a donation for this purpose. Finally, I would like to invite you to the last Fish Fry (Friday, 23 March from 4:00 pm - 7:30 pm). Let's do everything this coming Friday to be together as one united parish family. If any of you have not yet been to our Fish Fry, join us and at least one time will be with us. You ll find out that It is really worth it! Believe me, we have the most delicious, generous portions fish dinners in the world! Z biurka Ks. Proboszcza Moi Umiłowani Bracia i Siostry! Każdego dnia, tygodnia, miesiąca i roku zaskakujecie mnie coraz bardziej i bardziej. Co to znaczy? Pisząc te słowa myślę o naszej drugiej parafialnej Drodze Krzyżowej ulicami Burbank, którą przeżywaliśmy dokładnie tydzień temu w sobotę 10 marca. Myślę to o tysiącach wiernych, którzy z wiarą, nadzieją, miłością, ufnością i radością adorowali w procesji Krzyż Jezusa. Myślę tu o każdym i każdej z was, myślę o dzieciach, młodzieży, całych rodzinach i starszych; myślę tu o góralach, górnikach, hutnikach, ceprach, wiernych z każdego rejonu naszej Ojczyzny, którzy w swoich regionalnych strojach z dumą i patriotyzmem medytowali Mękę naszego Pana Jezusa; myślę tu także o naszych braciach i siostrach w wierze, którzy także w różnych językach (English, Polish and Spanish) modlili się nami. Wszystkim tym, którzy fizycznie w Drodze Krzyżowej uczestniczyli składam płynące z serca mojego serdeczne i nie kończące się podziękowanie. Dziękuję także tym, którzy duchowo przez cierpienie i modlitwę w swoich domach, oraz w domach opieki społecznej czy też w szpitalach łączyli się z nami na Drodze Krzyżowej. Wszystkich was, waszych krewnych i znajomych, wszystkich gości zapraszam na kolejną Drogę Krzyżową w przyszłym roku (13 kwietnia 2019 sobota przed Niedzielą Palmową o godz. 7:00 wieczorem)! Dobrze, że tu jesteście!!! Pragnę teraz podziękować tym, którzy zaangażowali się w przygotowanie oraz zabezpieczenie naszej Drogi Krzyżowej. W tym miejscu dziękuję więc: Rafałowi i Kasi Naglak, Izabeli Giemza, Kasi Palmer, sr. Weronice, Urszuli Michałowskiej, służbom sanitarnym, Bogumiłowi Adamski, Władzi i Karolowi Kowalczyk, sklepowi Shop and Save (ulica Harlem), Rafałowi Woźnik, Wojtkowi i Teresie Chramiec, Wojtkowi Doruli, pocztom sztandarowym oraz kołom góralskim wraz z prezesami i viceprezesami, ministrantom, Joe Ferreri, Dan Foy (burmistrz miasta Burbank), Policji, Straży Pożarnej, specjalnym służbom porządkowym, dziecięcemu zespołowi muzycznem Gronik wraz z opiekunami Moniką Staszel oraz Hanusią Blacha, księżom, diakonom, siostrom zakonnym, sąsiednim parafiom za ogłoszenia, wszystkim woluntariuszom, cichym samarytanom i ludziom dobrej woli! Moi Drodzy! Wszystkich was ogarniam moją modlitwą wdzięczności i dziękczynienia!!! W tym tygodniu odnowiliśmy duży krzyż w prezbiterium. Zostały jeszcze bardziej uwidocznione rany Pana Jezusa, została umocowana nowa tabliczka nad głową Jezusa z napisem INRI oraz zostało pomalowane sukno wokół pasa. Tę pracę wykonał artysta-malarz Artur Wincenciak. W przyszłości (jesienią) nasze stacje Drogi Krzyżowej wewnątrz kościoła zostaną też odnowione. W ubiegłym tygodniu odmalowaliśmy i udekorowaliśmy kancelarię i biura parafialne. Zostały tez zamówione pozłacane figurki aniołów, które w przyszłości zostaną umieszczone przy tabernakulum w kościele oraz przy tabernakulum w kaplicy adoracji Najświętszego Sakramentu. Gdyby ktoś chciał złożyć donację na te anioły do kościoła czy kaplicy to bardzo proszę o kontakt z moją osobą lub kancelarią parafialną. Koszt czterech pozłacanych figur aniołów wynosi 1,000.00 $. Wszyscy donatorzy będą mieć specjalną tabliczkę z imionami i nazwiskami umieszczoną w kaplicy Matki Bożej Częstochowskiej. Gorąco zachęcam was do rozważenia donacji na ten cel. Na koniec chcę was zaprosić na ostatni już w tym okresie Wielkiego Postu tzw. piątkowy obiad rybny (23 marzec od godz. 4:00 do 7:30 wieczorem). Zróbmy wszystko, aby w ten nadchodzący piątek być wszyscy razem jako jedna wielka rodzina parafialna. Jeżeli ktoś z was jeszcze nie był z nami na rybie to niech chociaż raz będzie z nami, aby się przekonać, że napradę warto! Proszę mi wierzyć, że mamy najsmaczniejsze i najobfitsze obiady rybne na świecie! A teraz po Mszy Świętej bardzo was wszystkich proszę, abyście zeszli do sali pod kościołem na gorącą kawę i wyśmienite domowe ciasto! Jezu, ufam Tobie! Fr.
