From the Pastor s Desk My Dear Parishioners! We still continue with the Archdiocese of Chicago Annual Catholic Appeal 2018. Most of us already returned completed pledge forms received from the Archdioces in the mail. Thank you very much for your financial support and the gift of constant prayers in the intention of the Annual Catholic Appeal. I trust that just like in the past, we will meet our designated goal and perhaps go over it! For parishioners and guests who didn t get a chance to submit their commitments, extra pledge envelopes are available in the back of the church. Please know, we need you not only in good times but also in the times of need. Jesus is speaking to all of us: Come, follow Me! Please, do not remain anonymous in your faith, hope, love, trust, and sacrifice! Please, try to identify yourself with our beautiful, vibrant parish! Take courage! The St. Albert the Great School is offering a Tax Credit Scholarships for the 2018-2019 school years. Qualified students may receive financial aid through this government funding. The amount of help depends on family s annual income and applicants may receive up to 100% of the financial help. If you hesitated in the past to register your children to a Catholic School because of a financial situation limitations, this may be a good time to "invest" in a quality education for your child. This may be the perfect time to register your son/daughter to the Albert the Great School in Burbank. We all know very well that the public schools are silent on the subject of God, faith, and religion! In today s bulletin, you will find a complete Ash Wednesday Mass schedule (Lent begins Wednesday, February 14th) as well as the Stations of the Cross schedule. Please note that the Stations of the Cross will take place on Fridays at 6:00 pm in English, 7:00 pm in Polish, and 8:30 pm in Spanish. I also invite all of you; parishioners and guests of St. Albert the Great with your families for our famous Lenten Fish Fry Fridays! I am happy that last year, more lovers of our delicious fish dinners supported our parish than in the past. It is important for us to spend some time together as a one parish family (Americans, Irish, Polish, Mexican, Filipino, Italian, German etc.), and continue building mutual kindness, understanding, and support! Please save the dates for our Fish Fry s Fridays. Full menu flyers are available in the back of the church. I also invite all of you to take part in the Outdoor Stations of the Cross on Saturday, March 10th at 7:00 pm. Just like last year, we will begin at Tobin Elementary School in Burbank. Our procession will end with Eucharist in the church. Please, invite your families and friends to join us! A few days ago we began improvement work in the church. I apologize for any inconvenience this may pose, and ask for your patience and understanding. If anyone would like to make a donation toward this project, please contact me or the parish office. Many theories have been offered: Mark is setting the stage for the great secret revealed when Peter will proclaim Jesus the Messiah at Caesarea Philippi; more skeptical commentators offer that Jesus, fully aware of human nature, knew that the way to spread the news was to tell people to keep it secret. The insight into this secretkeeping that serves us well, however, is that Jesus was initiating his public ministry according to the pattern that Paul describes. He was doing it for the glory of God not for his own benefit, but for that of all. Paul would later write in Philippians that Jesus humbled himself to become like us. And we see this humility at work in today s healing of the leper. Jesus is trying to reveal the presence of God s reign among the people, not so that he himself might receive the glory, but so that God would be glorified through him. Imitating this pattern, which Paul encourages the Jewish and Greek Christian factions in Corinth to do, still serves us well today. Copyright J. S. Paluch Co., Inc. SAVE THE DATE - JOIN US - on Saturday, March 17th immediately following the 5:00 p.m. Mass, for our annual St. Joseph Table in Rogers Hall. For a free-will donation you will enjoy a great freshly made meal of pasta with meatballs and many other delicious dishes. All proceeds will benefit our St. Vincent De Paul Society who help the needy in our parish and community. CELEBRANT SCHEDULE Saturday, February 17, 2018 5:00 pm - Fr. Z biurka Ks. Proboszcza Moi Drodzy Bracia i Siostry Jesteśmy w trakcie trwania Dorocznej Kwesty Katolickiej 2018. Większość z was otrzymała automatycznie swoje zobowiązania finansowe bezpośrednio z Diecezji. Alberta Wielkiego w Burbank. Wychodząc więc dziś z kościoła proszę was, abyście wzięli ze sobą do domów specjalne ulotki zapraszające was z całymi rodzinami na obiady rybne! Proszę was abyście już dziś zapraszali do udziału w Drodze Krzyżowej swoich krewnych, przyjaciół i znajomych! Gdyby ktoś z was chciałby finansowe wesprzeć te prace to wszystkich zainteresowanych proszę o kontakt z moją oobą lub z kancelarią parafialną. Niech na drogach codzienności towarzyszy nam Jezusowe błogosławieństwo! Jezu, ufam Tobie! Fr. Mariusz Nabożeństwa Wielkopostne Droga Krzyżowa Piątek o godzinie 7:00 wieczorem Gorzkie Żale Niedziela o godzinie 4:30 popołudniu Zapraszamy na obiady rybne Fish Fry Fridays w okresie Wielkiego Postu (Piątek) od godz. 4:00 do 7:30 pm. Bardzo prosimy o zabranie specjalnych kartek informujących o nich. Do zobaczenia i smacznego! Page 5
