If you can help, please consider donating any non-perishable items with current best used dates in our wooden bin at the main entrance of the church vestibule. Giving is not always easy, but can be rewarding. The Lord sees what we do to help others. CALL UPON THE LORD The very first line of today s first reading summons us to seek the Lord and to call upon God. This sentiment is echoed in the refrain for today s responsorial psalm: The Lord is near to all who call upon him (Psalm 145:18a). Saint Paul is the embodiment of someone who constantly sought the Lord. In the excerpt we read today from his letter to the Philippians, we find Saint Paul toward the end of his life, a life he describes as completely consonant with Christ. He writes, For to me life is Christ (Philippians 1:21). To find out what it means to live life completely in accord with Christ we need look no further than today s Gospel. There we find that God s love and mercy are immeasurable for all those who seek and call upon the Lord. Copyright J. S. Paluch Co., Inc. From the Pastor s Desk My Dearly Beloved!...for from the fullness of the heart the mouth speaks (Luke 6, 43-45) Someone once said these beautiful words: "Listen to the silence of your heart, and you will hear the voice of God". In my Pastoral Ministry among you, I always listen to the voice of my heart and let it direct my actions. I know that I am your very spontaneous in my actions. That's good because only in such a way and with your great cooperation we can carry out many wonderful works for our Church. It is necessary to go beyond the boundaries of a regular priest so that we could carry out many spiritual and material things in our second home, which we call St. Albert the Great in Burbank. My heart is filled with a huge gratitude and kindness for all the goodness that you show every day to our parish. I am filled with the spirit of joy for due to the fact that for thousands of you, whatever happens here becomes part of your life. Thank you very much for showing concern for the church s spiritual and material need. Today in a special way I would like to thank all who participated and enjoyed the "Harvest Day Festival" a week ago. Thank God for the beautiful and sunny weather, and may God Bless all those who donated their time and talent, put in their hearts to the hard work, prepared and served us delicious food. I do not mention anyone by name, so I will not miss anyone. I simply thank all and every one of you, and invite you for our Harvest Day 2018! Just a reminder; we are collecting bottled water until the end of September, and in beginning of the month of October we will drive to Houston, Texas. Remember that water is a symbol of life! We are hoping that each parish family will be able to give at least one large case of water. Please drop it off at the administration building (parish office). If anyone owns a trucking company and would be able to help us with the water delivery to Texas, please contact me or the parish office as soon as possible. I embrace with warm prayer all participant of this parish project. A few days ago we started the renovation in the sacristy (painting, new floor, renovation of toilets, new window sills, new electric contacts...). Last week we replaced burned out light bulbs in the presbytery. In recent days workers completed renovations in "Rogers Hall" (painted the stage, the dance floor, fixed the bar and replaced broken ceiling tiles). Soon we will hang a new curtain on the stage. All of this could not have been done without your huge commitment, kindness, help and financial support. Please embrace our plans for renovation with your daily prayer. I wish a peaceful and blessed week to all our parishioners and those who come to pray in our church! Jesus, I trust in You! Fr. Moi Kochani! Z biurka Ks. Proboszcza Bo z obfitości serca mówią jego usta. (Ewangelia św. Łukasza) Ktoś kiedyś powiedział piękne słowa: Wsłuchaj się w ciszę swojego serca, a usłyszysz głos Boga. W mojej posłudze duszpasterskiej pośród was zawsze kieruję się przede wszystkim moim sercem. Trzeba codziennie przekraczać ramy regularnego księdza, aby wpólnie razem dokonywać wielkich duchowych i materialnych rzeczy w naszym drugim domu, któremu na imię Parafia Świętego Alberta Wielkiego w Burbank. Tę wodę proszę przynosić do budynku administracyjnego (kancelarii). Wszystkich darczyńców i chętnych do przewiezienia wody do Houston ogarniam serdeczną modlitwą. W najbliższych dniach zakończymy prace remontowe w zakrystii (malowanie ścian, nowa podłoga, remont toalety, nowa wentylacja w łazience i nowe jej wyposażenie, nowe parapety oraz granit wokół umywalki, nowe kontakty...). W ostatnim tgodniu w miejsce spalonych lamp zostały zainstalowane nowe lampy w prezbiterium. Rogers Hall (wymalowana scena i parkiet do tańca, poprawiony bar, uzupełnione płyty w suficie itd. Bardzo was proszę, abyście nasze plany i prace tutaj oplatali serdeczną i codzienną modlitwą. Wszystkim naszym parafianom i modlącym sie w naszym kościele życzę spokojnego i błogosławionego tygodnia! Jezu, ufam Tobie! Fr. Mariusz Złote Myśli Św. Eucharistic Prayer III is a fresh composition. Like Eucharistic Prayer II, it has no preface of its own, but the presider chooses from a long menu of possible prefaces to become part of the prayer on a particular occasion. Also, like Eucharistic Prayer II it has a way to insert the name of the deceased in Masses for the dead such as funerals and memorials. The General Instruction of the Roman Missal views Eucharistic Prayer III as the best substitute for Eucharistic Prayer I on Sundays and feasts. In practice, this prayer is used very often at Sunday Mass, and its texts are familiar to all members of the assembly. In this prayer, notice that the priest extends his hands over the gifts and calls down the Holy Spirit to change them into the Body and Blood of Christ. This call of the Holy Spirit is called the epiclesis, and Eastern Christians consider it to be the consecration. Latin Christians have long considered the institution narrative to be the consecration. Partly in response to a deep sensitivity to the East, the reformers took care to structure all our new prayers with a strong epiclesis. The poetry and images of Eucharistic Prayer III are fruitful sources of meditation. Why not take a sentence or two into your private prayer? Rev. James Field, Copyright J. S. Paluch Co.
