It works for me! - My first job was in an orange juice factory, but I couldn t concentrate on the same old boring rind, so I got canned. - After that, I tried working in a donut shop, but I soon got tired of the hole business. - I manufactured calendars, but my days were numbered. - I tried working in a car muffler factory, but that was exhausting. - I wanted to be a barber, but I just couldn t cut it. - Then I was a pilot, but tended to wing it, and I didn t have the right altitude. - I became a baker, but it wasn t a cakewalk, and I couldn t make enough dough. They fired me after I left a cake out in the rain. - I managed to get a good job working for a pool maintenance company, but the work was just too draining. - I became a personal trainer in a gym, but they said I wasn t fit for the job. From the Pastor s Desk My Dearly Beloved, Last week the entire cooling and heating system was cleaned in the church and in the Rogers hall. This was necessary because this system has not been cleaned for years, was very dirty, and didn t work in its full capacity. A pastor s responsibility is to inform parishioners about the expenditure of parish funds. That is why, as you have noticed, on a regular basis I inform you about all improvment work that is being done in our parish. Today, I would like to thank in general all parishioners who helped in the preparation and during this year's Carnival. Thank you to all who actively participated in these joyful festivities. I'm glad to see that so many of you (thousands) identify with St. Albert the Great parish and support it by prayer and sacrifice. Many of you came up to me during the Carnival and expressed thanks and gratitude for a "wonderful" (past) year in our parish community. This made me very happy because your support is a huge inspiration for our coming years together. I have many plans for the future, and I know that with your support we can achieve any goal we set for ourselves and the parish! In two weeks, (Sunday, September 17th) from 10:00 am to 6:00 am we will celebrate our second parish Harvest Day. As we did last year; we will have delicious food, music, beer, games for children, face painting and much more. The entire profit will benefit our parish so let us spend this time together it is really worth it! Ahead of us is the Labor Day Holiday (Monday, September 4th). Please, remember that we will have only one (9:00 am) bilingual Mass that day. The Adoration Chapel and the parish office will also be closed. Let us spent this day on relaxation and enjoyment of our family and friends. I wish all our parishioners and those who come to pray in our church a peaceful, blessed week, and a Very Happy "Labor Day". Jesus, I Trust in You! Fr. Mariusz PLEASE, SAVE THE DATE! Z biurka Ks. Proboszcza Moi Kochani! 10:00 rano do godz. Wszystkim naszym parafianom i modlącym sie w naszym kościele życzę spokojnego i błogosławionego tygodnia oraz szczęśliwego Dnia Pracy Happy Labor Day Jezu, ufam Tobie! Fr. Mariusz 17 września tj. w niedzielę od godz. 10:00 am do 6:00 pm przy naszym kościele (na parkingu) odbędzie się HARVEST DAY - DOŻYNKI - POŻEGNANIE LATA W programie smaczne jedzenie, grilowanie, napoje, piwo, dobra muzyka (DJ - Józek), ślizgawki, zabawy dla dzieci. Serdecznie zapraszamy z całymi rodzinami. Poszukujemy ofiarodawców (kiełbasa, steaki, hamburgery, hot-dogs, ciasto, itp. Osoby chętne do pomocy i ofiarodawców prosimy o kontakt z biurem parafialnym lub ks. Mariuszem. Zrzeszenie Amerykańsko-Polskie oferuje bezpłatne kursy j. angielskiego; 6276 W. Archer Ave. Chicago, Il. Narodzenie Twoje, Boża Rodzicielko, zwiastowało radość całemu światu: z Ciebie bowiem wzeszło Słońce Sprawiedliwości, Chrystus, Bóg nasz.on zniweczył przekleństwo, dał nam błogosławieństwo, śmierć pokonał, życie wieczne nam darował. We can almost see him shaking his head with a bit of a rueful smile, but an angry undertone in his voice. In similar fashion, Peter thinks Jesus is duping him when Jesus starts to explain that being Messiah means suffering and dying, and being a follower of the Messiah means taking up a cross and doing the same. Jeremiah tries to deny God s will for him by trying to shut up; Peter who has just been made the foundation of the church out and out denies the teaching of Jesus, for which he is named Satan today. Fortunately for us, Jeremiah comes to realize that to have the word of God placed in your heart means that it will be futile to try and keep silent, even if it means scorn and derision from those around you. Luckily Peter ultimately returned to the faith he professed in last week s Gospel, and came to understand our need as baptized followers of Christ to follow in his way, even when it means following him to our very death.
