NO COMPARISONS How many times have we read or heard about someone who s gotten into trouble maybe even fired from a job because of a brush with the law? While our Christian minds tell us to be sorry and even pray for the person, a little voice inside our heads may also be saying, I m glad I would never do anything like that. And perhaps we wouldn t. But are there some things we do that are still not pleasing in God s eyes? Today s readings caution us not to look so intently at someone else s wrongdoing that we overlook our own weaknesses and shortcomings. When we measure ourselves against the worst people we can think of, we come out looking pretty good. Dear Friends! From the Pastor s Desk A week ago Sunday, October 16th we celebrated our first parish Harvest Day Festival. Thanks be to God for giving us good weather for that day. From the bottom of my heart I would like to thank all parish groups, organizations and everyone who helped to organize this event or gave donations, and all parishioners that came out to support this celebration. Many of you emphasized how important are such events and their role in bringing all of us together as one loving family. I think that we will hold Harvest Day every year. The profit for the parish was $9,006.00. You are wonderful! The work on the church roof will be finished by next week. On this occasion, I would like to thank you for your prayers for good weather and the safety of the workers during construction. I thank my predecessor, Fr. Michael Zoufal for gathering the financial resources and I thank you for donations made during the past years toward this important project. As always, I am very proud of you and I always say that you are the best parishioners in the world; it s not possible to find such generous and faithful people outside of our church. May the Good Lord reward your kindness and generosity and abundantly bless you and your families. Please remember, Saturday, November 5th, we set clocks 1 hour back! Z biurka Ks. Proboszcza Drodzy Parafianie, Tydzień temu w niedzielę 16 października celebrowaliśmy po raz pierwszy w naszej parafii Harvest Day- Dożynki. Panu Bogu niech będzie chwała i dzięki za to, że obdarzył nas tego dnia dobrą pogodą. Wszystkim tym, którzy w jakikolwiek sposób pomagali w zorganizowaniu i przeprowadzeniu tego wydarzenia chcę z głębi serca podziękować staropolskim Bóg zapłać! Wielu z was było tego dnia z nami i wsparło finansowo naszą parafię. Myślę, że teraz co roku będziemy kontynuować Octoberfest-Dożynki w naszej parafii. Także wielu z was podkreślało konieczność organizowania podobnych wydarzeń, które jednoczą naszą wspólnotę parafialną i tworzą z niej jedną kochającą się rodzinę. Całkowity dochód z naszych Dożynek wyniósł $9,006.00. Jesteście wspaniali! W przyszłym tygodniu kończymy także remont dachu na naszym kościele. Przy tej okazji pragnę wam podziękować za modlitwy o dobrą pogodę i bezpieczeństwo w czasie prac remontowych. Dziękuję mojemu poprzednikowi Fr. Mike Zoufal za zgromadzenie odpowiednich środków finansowych, wam dziękuję za złożone w poprzednich latach pieniądzą na ten cel. Jak zawsze jestem z was bardzo dumny i zawsze powtarzam, że jesteście najlepsi na świecie, że takich hojnych wiernych nigdzie poza naszym kościołem nie znajdziecie. Niech za waszą życzliwość, dobroć i ofiarność Pan Jezus wam i waszym rodzinom obficie błogosławi. Pamiętajcie, że z soboty na niedzielę (5/6 listopada) zmieniamy wskazówki zegara o jedną godzinę do tyłu! Na nadchodzący tydzień życzę wam pokoju, życzliwości i miłości! Jezu, ufam Tobie! Fr. W listopadzie (poniedziałek, środa i piątek) o godz. 6:30 po południu będziemy się modlić za zmarłych i o godz. 7:00 wieczorem za dusze wypominane w naszym kościele będziemy odprawiać Mszę Świętą. Od dziś możemy ze sobą zabrać do domu specjalne kopertki wypominkowe na których prosimy wypisać imiona i nazwiska swoich bliskich zmarłych. Przed ołtarzem będzie umieszczony specjalny koszyk do którego możemy składać kopertki wypominkowe wraz z ofiarą. Bardzo proszę nie wrzucać kopertek wypominkowych w czasie trwania składki. Możemy też te kopertki przynieść do zakrystii, kancelarii parafialnej lub dać jednemu z księży lub siostrze zakonnej. W ramach IV Kongresu o Rodzinie ks. prowincjał Paweł Bandurski SChr poprowadzi warsztaty dla małżonków zatytułowane: Klinika serca - stworzeni do miłości. Spotkanie odbędzie się w sobotę 12 listopada w kościele Świętej Trójcy w Chicago. Zapewniamy opiekę nad dziećmi.
