Page Two September 7, 2014 ŚWIADECTWO PRAWDZIE... Dear Lord, Please hold those families who lost someone in the horrific terrorist attacks of 9/11 carefully in the palm of your hand always, especially this time of year. Please welcome those lost into your kingdom. Hold them close to you, now and forever. Guide those who have and continue to serve and protect our county in order for us to experience the blessing of freedom. Give them the wisdom, courage and protection they need. We especially pray for all those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for the price of our freedom. Amen. Taken from bellaonline.com Reflecting on God s Word During the first few months of marriage, the honeymoon period, the one we love may seem perfect to us. He or she can do nothing wrong. Soon, though, reality sets in and we start accumulating hurts. We may hurt one another knowingly or unknowingly. It s much the same in a family or a community. Sooner or later our love for one another is tested by sin and human weakness. Will we put up with the other s behavior or confront it? Which choice reflects true love? Today Paul recalls some signs of true love; he reminds us what those who love will not do. The other Scriptures bring out some of the surprising signs of true love. Loving one another just might involve nagging, confronting, fighting, or telling family secrets. It will certainly involve mutual respect and acceptance, along with a healthy dose of prayer for each other. And true love will seek constantly to call forth the best in the ones we love. Virginia Stillwell Living God s Word We might hope for a change of heart from someone we love or a member of our community. But first we must change our own hearts by forgiving and accepting the other in true love. True love begins with recognizing our own faults and softening our hearts toward the ones we love. Copyright 2012, World Library Publications. All rights reserved. Jako chrześcijanie mamy obowiązek dawania świadectwa Prawdzie. Każdy z nas ma obowiązek mówić prawdę i obowiązek świadczenia o prawdzie. Ewangelia dzisiejsza mówiąc o obowiązku upominania grzeszących, wiąże ten obowiązek z koniecznością dawania świadectwa Prawdzie. Gdy twój brat zgrzeszy przeciw tobie, idź i upomnij go. Ks. Idzi

Page Four September 7, 2014 ARCHDIOCESE OF CHICAGO August 22, 2014 Dear Father, We all have been witnessing the ongoing tragedy and violence erupting in the Middle East. Millions in Iraq, Syria, and Gaza are continually displaced, murdered, and attacked, and the situation is increasingly becoming more violent. Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz of Louisville, Kentucky, President of the U. S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, has now called on us to consider taking up a special collection to provide humanitarian relief and pastoral support for our affected brothers and sisters in the Middle East. Attention Parishioners of St. Priscilla! This year the Anointing of the Sick Mass will take place in the month of October. More information regarding the Mass of the Anointing of the Sick will be posted in the bulletin shortly. Więcej informacji na temat Mszy Namaszczenie Chorych zostanie opublikowane wkrótce w biuletynie St. Priscilla Holy Name Society will celebrate their first fall monthly meeting on Sunday, September 14, 2014 All members please attend the 8:30 AM Mass with wives and widows of former members. After the Mass please go to the lower level of the Church Office (Rectory) for a meeting. Consequently, I am asking the faithful of the Archdiocese of Chicago to please pray for peace and contribute to the Special Collection for the Middle East on the weekend of September 13-14 at your parish. The urgency for this emergency appeal is evident, as we must together show our great concern for the ongoing crisis in the Middle East, the cradle of Christianity, as Archbishop Kurtz explained in the letter. Our Church mourns the terrible suffering of Christians and other innocent victims of violence in Iraq, Syria and Gaza who are struggling to survive, protect their children and live with dignity in dire conditions. Catholic Relief Services (CRS) and other Catholic agencies are working tirelessly to provide for the immediate humanitarian needs for the most vulnerable in need in these conflict areas in Iraq, Gaza, Syria and other surrounding countries. Monies received from this collection will go directly to aid persecuted Christians and other innocent victims and rebuild the needs of the Catholic dioceses in these areas. To that end, I urge all of you to respond with generosity in both prayer and by providing monetary support for our brothers and sisters in this crisis situation. Please also continue to include these victims in your general intercessions during Mass. You and those whom God has called you to serve are in my prayers; please keep me in yours. Fraternally yours in Christ, Francis Cardinal George, O.M.I. Archbishop of Chicago
