Weddings are not scheduled on Sunday. BAPTISMS: English Baptisms will be held on the second and fourth Sundays of the month at 1:30 PM. Polish Baptisms will be held on the first and third Sundays of the month at 1:30 PM. Attendance at Baptismal Preparation class is mandatory. Register by calling the Rectory. 4 Page Four January 10, 2016 Some of you may have noticed the change made on the South side of the Church building. The windows to the kitchen in McGowan Hall were exposed and over the years, a lot of garbage was thrown by passerby. The area is surrounded by metal barriers, but it was still unsafe for children walking near the school. Before Christmas, we had custom-made metal grates installed over the windows, ensuring the safety of all, as well as preventing any future damage to the windows. The grates will be painted in the Springtime, once the weather has improved. This project was the final Capital Improvements project of the year Thank you all for your continued generosity and we hope you can visibly see the changes we continue to make at St. Priscilla Parish. You can see photos of the work being done below! Kapitalne Remonty Tuż przed świętami Bożego Narodzenia, ze względu na bezpieczeństwo przy naszym kościele zostały zamontowane metalowe kraty przy głównym oknie kuchni w McGowan Hall. Dotychczas jak to widać na górnej fotografii (z lewej strony) przestrzeń ta była zabezpieczona jedynie metalową barierką, która nie zapewniała wystarczająco bezpieczeństwa dla dzieci przechodzących w pobliżu szkoły. Projekt ten został pokryty z funduszu Capital Improvements, naszej comiesięcznej składki na ten cel. Dziękujemy wszystkim parafianom za hojność i ofiarność na składkę: Capital Improvements.

6 Page Six January 10, 2016 Jubilee Year of Mercy January 10, 2016 Feast of the Baptism of the Lord Fittingly, this Jubilee Year of Mercy is also the Lectionary s Year of Luke, for Luke s Gospel highlights God s mercy in finding the lost, healing the sick, restoring the broken, comforting the sorrowful, forgiving the sinner through Jesus ministry. But before doing, Luke s Jesus is always praying. As practical moderns programmed to measure worth by productivity, we instinctively appreciate the Jubilee s call to embrace the practical challenges of our baptism. But today Luke focuses not on Jesus being baptized, but on Jesus praying after baptism. So must we pray to become the disciples we are called to be, that the Spirit empower us to do what disciples are called to do. Imitating Jesus openness to the Spirit will enable us to cooperate with the grace that transforms us into beloved sons [and daughters]... in whom the Father is well pleased, living out, in this Jubilee Year of Mercy, the extraordinary potential of our baptism.
