Weddings are not scheduled on Sunday. BAPTISMS: English Baptisms will be held on the second and fourth Sundays of the month at 1:30 PM. Polish Baptisms will be held on the first and third Sundays of the month at 1:30 PM. Attendance at Baptismal Preparation class is mandatory. Register by calling the Rectory. 2 Page Two May 11, 2014 Dear Friends in Christ, Mother s Day is a day to honor the special women mothers, grandmothers, aunts, friends who have fed, nurtured, loved and shaped us into the people we are today. It is through their unconditional love that we begin to understand the depth of Christ s love for us, and his command to share that love with one another. Mother s Day is therefore an appropriate day to support a critical mission of the Church: the care of the poor and vulnerable. By participating in the Catholic Charities Mother s Day Collection, each one of us has the opportunity to share Christ s love with those who are hungry, homeless, hurting and in need of help. We are greatly blessed in the Archdiocese of Chicago to have an extraordinary social-service agency like Catholic Charities to help us fulfill Jesus command to care for those in need. As we share our resources with the poor and vulnerable, we not only allow God to bless others through us, but we are blessed as well. The poor teach us the virtues of tolerance, meekness and patience. God comes to us cloaked in poverty. It is through our connection to the poor that we encounter the suffering Christ and so humble ourselves and truly open our hearts to his tremendous grace and mercy. I thank you for your past support, and I invite you to again join me in making a contribution to the Catholic Charities Mother s Day Collection. Your gift will help serve more than one million people of all ages, races and religions in Cook and Lake Counties, including one out of every three citizens of the City of Chicago. To dzięki ich bezwarunkowej miłości zaczynamy rozumieć zarówno głębię Chrystusowej miłości, jak i Jego przykazanie dzielenia się tą miłością ze sobą nawzajem. Dlatego też Dzień Matki jest właściwym momentem dla zademonstrowania swojego wsparcia dla tej niezwykle ważnej misji Kościoła, jaką jest opieka nad ubogimi i cierpiącymi. Uczestnictwo w kolekcie na rzecz Katolickiej Organizacji Charytatywnej z okazji Dnia Matki daje każdemu z nas sposobność podzielenia się miłością Chrystusa z głodującymi, bezdomnymi, cierpiącymi i potrzebującymi pomocy. W Archidiecezji Chicago prawdziwym błogosławieństwem jest dla nas obecność wspaniałej organizacji pomocy społecznej, jaką jest Katolicka Organizacja Charytatywna (Catholic Charities). Dzięki Katolickiej Organizacji Charytatywnej łatwiej jest nam wypełniać Jezusowe przykazanie troski o tych, którzy są w potrzebie. Gdy dzielimy się tym, co mamy z biednymi i potrzebującymi stajemy się narzędziem Bożego błogosławieństwa dla innych, a jednocześnie błogosławieństwo to spływa i na nas. Od biednych uczymy się cnoty tolerancji, łagodności i cierpliwości. Bóg przychodzi do nas odziany w szatę ubóstwa. Łączność z ubogimi ułatwia nam spotkanie cierpiącego Chrystusa; uniżamy wtedy samych siebie i szeroko otwieramy serca na Jego niezwykłą łaskę i miłosierdzie. Dziękuję Wam za dotychczasowe wsparcie i zapraszam kolejny raz do włączenia się wraz ze mną w tę cenną incjatywę, jaką jest kolekta na rzecz Katolickiej Organizacji Charytatywnej z okazji Dnia Matki. Ofiara, jaką złożycie w czasie tej kolekty posłuży ponad milionowi ludzi w każdym wieku, wszystkich ras i wyznań na terenach powiatów Cook i Lake. Z pomocy tej skorzysta jeden na trzech mieszkańców miasta Chicago. Niech Bóg błogosławi Was i Wasze rodziny. Modlę się za Was i Waszych bliskich i proszę, abyście i Wy pamiętali o mnie w swoich modlitwach.

A BLESSING FOR MOTHERS We thank you, GOD, for the gift of our mothers, for grandmothers, and godmothers, and mothers-inlaw too. Send your Holy Spirit upon our mothers at whose breasts we were fed, by whose hands we were cleaned and clothed, at times corrected, in whose laps we learned to sing and speak and play and pray, at whose side we hear your word and celebrate your mysteries. Heal their pains and disappointments. Forgive all that needs to be forgiven. Give to them the good that they have given others. Welcome to your bosom those who have died. Fill this world, O God, with a mother s love! We ask this through your Son Jesus Christ, who gathers us together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever. Amen. Catholic Charities Mother s Day Collection Every 30 seconds someone turn to Catholic Charities for help. When you give to the second collection today you ensure that one less mother has to worry about feeding her children tonight. That one less person will make a bench their bed tonight. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the parents and the children for their cooperation during this past school year. Our attendance was excellent this year, which tells us that both the parents and children know the value of religious education. I would like to thank the following people: Antoinette Sanders, Sister Agnes Francis SND, Yolanda Gomez, Magdalena Kleszcz, Roman Harmata, Paulina Kocon, Joanna Rydzewski, William Burns, and Anna Babbo for all their dedication and cooperation during the past year. We have an excellent group of people who have volunteered to give up their time to prepare for and come to class every week. I would also like to thank Father Idzi and all the people on the staff of St. Priscilla Parish. They are always willing to help me in any way they can. We hope you have a wonderful summer and we look forward to seeing you next year.
