Confirm desired date at the church before making other arrangements. At least one of the engaged persons (or their parents) must be a registered and active parishioner of St. Priscilla. Weddings are not scheduled on Sunday. BAPTISMS: English Baptisms will be held on the second and fourth Sundays of the month at 1:30 PM. Polish Baptisms will be held on the first and third Sundays of the month at 1:30 PM. Attendance at Baptismal Preparation class is mandatory. Register by calling the Rectory. 3 Fifth Sunday of Easter Page Three SPIRITUAL REFLECTION Jubilee of Mercy April 24 Fifth Sunday of Easter Jubilee Day for Youth This Sunday s Youth Jubilee previews July s World Youth Day in Krakow. Its theme from Matthew 5:7, Blessed are the merciful, echoes Pope Francis warning that the practice of mercy is waning in the wider culture. In countercultural witness, therefore, the time has come, says Francis, for the Church to take up the joyful call to mercy once more. It is time to return to the basics and to bear the weaknesses and struggles of our brothers and sisters. Jesus affirms the same in today s Gospel. As I have loved you, so you also should love one another (John 13:34). Francis concludes, The Church s very credibility is seen in how she shows merciful and compassionate love. Jesus too asserts, This is how all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another (John 13:35). Thus mercy makes young the Church, the world, and everyone. IV NIEDZIELA WIELKANOCNA NAJWAŻNIEJSZE PRZYKAZANIE Przykazanie nowe daję wam, abyście się wzajemnie miłowali, tak jak Ja was umiłowałem; żebyście i wy tak się miłowali wzajemnie (J. 13, 34). Są to słowa Jezusa wyjęte z Jego pożegnalnej mowy w czasie ostatniej Wieczerzy. Chrystus Pan daje nowe przykazanie dla nowego, Bożego człowieka. On sam jest przykładem a zarazem żywym przykazaniem dlatego mówi do nas abyśmy się tak miłowali, jak ON nas umiłował. Wspólcześni Jezusowi Żydzi mieli tylko trochę miłości dla Żydów. Wszyscy inni to poganie zasługujący tylko na pogardę i nienawiść. Chrystus chce więc wyniszczyć w każdym sercu egoizm i nienawiść, by mogło zapanować królestwo miłości. Świat przeżywał dotychczas różne rewolucje i przewroty, które go zmieniały, ale one nie uszczęśliwiły człowieka. Działo się tak, ponieważ z zasady wszyscy rewolucjoniści odrzucali Boga. A my wszyscy dobrze wiemy, że te wszystkie systemy, które w przeszłości odrzucały Boga, często posuwały się w swojej działalności do rzeczy najokrutniejszych nawet do zabójstwa człowieka i to w imię wolności, równości i braterstwa. Chrystus Pan domaga się najtrudniehszej i największej rewolucji, która może być skuteczna mówiąc: Tak jak Ja was umiłowałem, żebyście i wy tak się miłowali wzajemnie. W dzisiejszym świecie bardziej niż dawniej potrzebna jest Jezusowa rewolucja miłości. Miłość bowiem przygarnia a nie odpycha, miłość daje a nie odbiera! Tylko ona zapewnia rzeczywiste i prawdziwe braterstwo, równość i wolność. Wszystkie inne teorie możemy włożyć na półkę pomiędzy bajki. Po tym poznają, żeście uczniami moimi, jeżeli będziecie się wzajemnie miłowali (J. 13, 35). Miłość do ludzi jest legitymacją chrześcijanina. Przykładem takiej miłości jest Siostra Matka Teresa niestrudzona Apostołka miłości, czy też Ojciec Maksymilian Kolbe oświęcimski męczennik. Tylko miłość może ocalić wspólczesny świat. Taka jest właśnie nauka dzisiejszej Ewangelii. Chrześcijanin powinien często pytać samego siebie: co nosi w swoim sercu miłość, czy nienawiść? - Ks. Idzi -

In partnership with The Kennedy Forum, Faith & Fellowship/ Archdiocesan Commission on Mental Illness will organize these conversations to break the silence and end the stigma associated with the issue. We will also explore how the Church can be a more pastoral and supportive presence.
