Dear Friends! From the Pastor s Desk The events of the last few days kept all of us very busy. We had many beautiful religious events and spiritual experiences in our parish ( The Mystery of the Holy Eucharist, The Passion Play, Outdoor Stations of the Cross, farm animals on the parish grounds on Holy Saturday and much, much more) This time of the year is also rich in a different kind of happenings in our church, the parish, and the parish buildings. An information sign for all schools of our parish has been recently installed, our new electronic sign on the corner of State Road and Central is up and running, the work on bathrooms and hallway in sisters convent is done, a second bathroom was placed in the church next to the south cry room and new floor tiles were placed in both cry rooms. Renovation work continues in Rogers Hall and special decorative signs have been already ordered. In the upcoming weeks we will install a beautiful fence along the kid's playground which is located by the school building and plant a new garden around the statue of St. Albert the Great. All these improvements are only possible because of your kindness, generosity, and involvement; therefore, I thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for all your contributions to our parish. I assure you that my gratitude is expressed in prayers for you and your loved ones. I am truly proud of you! I also want to thank all of you for your presence in our church during the Paschal Triduum and the Easter Holidays. I thank our parish priests and the Missionary Sisters of Christ the King, all our parishioners and those individuals who helped clean and decorate the church, all men who held guard by Jesus thomb, parish organists, liturgists, and all who in any way participated in making our parish beautiful for Christ s Resurrection. May God bless you and reward you! Together with the associate pastors and Missionary Sisters, I would like to congratulate all young men and women of our parish who yesterday received the Sacrament of Confirmation. Please keep them in your prayers, so that they continue to bear the witness of the Risen Christ in the world. Let us embrace with prayers all children who in the upcoming weeks will receive Jesus into their hearts in the gift of the 1st Holy Communion. On Sunday, May 14th after Masses we will have a special reception for both men, where you will be able to personally congratulate them and enjoy good cake and coffee. Dear Parishioners of St. Albert the Great, I m writing to you to inform you that my wife Elizabeth and I will be attending an ordination retreat which will take place on April 26 30, 2017. We will be having this retreat at Mary town Retreat Center in Libertyville IL.. On this retreat I will be taking an oath of fidelity, make a profession of faith and sign a Freedom to Receive Ordination form as part of my preparation for ordination. The day of the Diaconate ordination is May 13, 2017 at Holy Name Cathedral by his Eminence Blase Cardinal J. Cupich. I m writing to ask you to include Elizabeth and myself in your prayers as we will be attending this ordination retreat in preparation for my ordination to the diaconate. My wife has been a constant support to me during my diaconal formation and me to her. Please pray that our support may always remain constant and strong to one another as in our marriage as I will begin my diaconal ministry to you and to the Archdiocese. Be assured that my wife and I will be praying for you, the parish community we will be serving as well as the people of the entire Archdiocese. Elizabeth and I will be praying to the Holy Spirit for Wisdom, Knowledge and Guidance in serving you and the Archdiocese. All of us as Catholic Christians should all be in service to one another. Za nami wiele pięknych wydarzeń i przeżyć religijnych oraz duchowych (Misterium Mszy Świętej, Misterium Męki Pana Jezusa, Droga Krzyżowa ulicami Burbank, spowiedź wielkopostna, Triduum Paschalne, zwierzyniec dla dzieci w Wielką Sobotę itd.) Ten czas przed świąteczny i świąteczny obfituje również w inne wydarzenia i prace wokół naszego kościoła i w budynkach parafialnych (została zamontowana nowa elektroniczna tablica informacyjna dla naszej parafii, zamontowano nową tablicę dla naszej Katolickiej Szkoły przy ulicy State Rd. zamontowano tablice informacyjne dla wszystkich szkół istniejących przy naszej parafii, zakończono remont łazienek i korytarza w budynku sióstr zakonnych, została zrobiona i oddana do użytku w kościele druga nowa toaleta, w pokojach dla małych dzieci tzw. crying room w miejsce starego i pachnącego karpetu zostały położone płytki ceremiczne, prowadzimy prace przy odnowieniu sali pod kościołem, zostały zamówione nowe napisy do sali pod kościołem, za kilka tygodni zostanie zamontowane piękne ogrodzenie naszego placu zabaw dla dzieci wzdłuż ulicy State Rd. w najbliższym czasie zostanie upiększone kwiatami i drzewami ozdobnymi miejsce wokół figury św. Alberta Wielkiego). Te wszystkie prace są prowadzone dzięki waszej życzliwości, ofiarności i zaangażowaniu. Za wszystkie ofiary jakie tutaj składacie składam wam gorące podziękowanie. Moją wdzięczność wyrażam modlitwą w waszych intencjach i w intencjach waszych bliskich. Jestem z was naprawdę bardzo dumny! Dziękuję wam wszystkim za obecność w naszym kościele w czasie Triduum Paschalnego oraz w czasie Świąt Wielkanocnych. Proszę, módlcie się w intencji tej młodzieży, aby była codziennie czytelnym znakiem Jezusa Zmartwychwstałego. Naszą życzliwą modlitwą ogarniamy także dzieci, które w najbliższym czasie przyjmą po raz pierwszy Pana Jezusa do swoich serc w darze Pierwszej Komunii Świętej. Za tydzień (30 kwietnia) w sali pod kościołem od godz. 8:00 rano do godz. 3:30 popołudniu celebrować będziemy śniadanie i obiad wielkanocny. Będziemy mogli za symboliczną donację zakupić bardzo smaczne międzynarodowe jedzenie. Będziemy mieć także loterię fantową (do wygrania 2,000 $ oraz dwie nagrody po 500 $). Losy na loterię fantową wciąż można zakupić po Mszach Świętych w tyle naszego kościoła. Niech każda rodzina zakupi choć jeden los. Cena losu to 10 $. Pamiętajcie, że cały dochód z tego wydarzenia zasili konto renowacji naszego prezbiterium w kościele. Liczę na wasze zainteresowanie i pomoc. To co robimy tutaj robimy dla naszego drugiego domu! I na koniec pragnę się podzielić z wami jeszcze jedną radosną informacją. W sobotę 13 maja w katedrze Chicago kleryk Łukasz Pyka oraz p. Raul Duque przyjmą święcenia diakonatu. W niedzielę 14 maja będą oni z nami w czasie niedzielnych Mszy. Po Mszach Świętych w sali pod kościołem będziemy mogli im osobiście pogratulować, uścisnąć dłoń oraz zjeść dobre ciasto z kawą. A SEASON OF JOY They devoted themselves to the teaching of the apostles and to the communal life, to the breaking of bread and to the prayers (Acts 2:42). This first line of today s first reading sets the tone as this fifty-day celebration of Easter opens before us. Today we listen to the teachings of three apostles Luke, Peter, and John who remind us that even though we have not seen Christ, we nonetheless are filled with joy as we place our belief in his saving death and resurrection. Each week we will gather to break bread and offer the great prayer of thanksgiving, actions that will manifest the very presence of the risen Christ in our midst.
