Anyone who is growing older and feeling the weakening effect of growing older (especially senior citizens). 4 Page Four September 27, 2015 ST. PRISCILLA PARISH - Fiscal Year ending June 30, June 30 th, 2015, marks the end of the Fiscal Year for the Parish. As we do every year, we would like to provide our Parishioners with the most recent financial report. The 2015 fiscal year ended with a surplus of $139,461.00, based on total income from collections and rent of the school building. In our weekly bulletins, we report a deficit, which is calculated on collections income only. We have to use part of the rental income to cover expenses. The Archdiocese is allowing us to use some of the funds, but strongly advise that we save most of it. This year, we saved $200, and deposited it in the Archdiocesan Bank. It lowers our monthly assessments that we have to pay to the Archdiocese; assessments are based on collections income and rental income. Another assessment was added this year, which is the Retirement for Priests. The total assessment we have to pay to the Archdiocese is $102, annually. Other funds we have in our maintenance account are designated for certain purposes, such as maintenance costs and repairs in the church and rectory. The Annual Catholic Appeal goal was $25, We collected $4, over our goal. The goal for next year is $24, and is always based on the previous year s collections amount. We received the following donations from our Deceased Parishioners Trust Funds; Mr. Martin P. Connolly - $14,900.00, Mr. Donald Smith - final payment in the amount of $624.44, Mr. Joseph Tiritilli Trust - $2,881.33, Mr. Norman E. Wilson Trust - $15,135.79, Mrs. Genevieve Fruzynski - $2, Please keep our generous deceased parishioners in your prayers. Our Catholic Women s Club had a very successful year. From the events they organized, like the Rummage Sale and Baker s Square Dinners, they donated a total of $6, The Polish Group organized a Fall Dance and collected $3,737.15, and the Valentine s Day Dance profit was $10, The parish Filipino Group organized their annual Simbang Gabi Mass and donated $1, to the church. Every year, we receive a donation of $1, from our bulletin publisher, J.S. Paluch. Thank you all for your time and efforts. Something we are constantly struggling with, are the necessary repairs in the church and rectory. The heating and cooling system in the rectory is outdated and repairs are very costly. We are considering replacing the system, but this would be an expense of over $250, There are only a few companies remaining that still provide services for such systems and some necessary parts are no longer available. We would like to thank our Parishioner, Mr. Krzysztof Sołtyszewski, for providing volunteer services for the church that include doing caulking, tuck-pointing and cement works. Our Sharing Parish was St. Kevin Parish and this year we donated $8, to the parish. As Pastor of St. Priscilla and on behalf of the staff of St. Priscilla I would like to extend my sincerest thanks to all of St. Priscilla s Parishioners for your generosity in helping fulfill the Eucharistic Mission. 6 Page Six September 27, 2015 Religious Education News Our Religious Education Program is in session. We meet on Saturdays, from 9:00 am until 10:45 am. We will be accepting registration for new students until the end of September. Please remember that any child who needs to receive a sacrament must be in a religious education program for two years prior to the reception of the sacrament. Since we will not be having Confirmation until 2017, if your child is of Confirmation age you need to register them for classes this year. Last weekend we celebrated our catechists at a special 4:00 pm Mass. I regret that I did not include Maria Carmencita Duffy in our bulletin announcement. Maria will be teaching a Sacramental Preparation class to our junior high students. Again, I want to say a special thank you to all our volunteers for all their hard work and dedication.
