4 Once again, Fr. Mulcrone is asking us to help get school supplies for children who are the victims of sexual abuse. The list shows the supplies/backpacks these children need. Drop them off at the rectory or in Stokes Center any Sunday after all our Masses.

5 From the Pastor s Desk... Today's readings certainly surprise us mentioning the people who murmured against God and His Son. It looks like the resistance was a human failing that can be witnessed from the beginning of time. The word murmur appears as many as nine times in the Bible and often in reference to Jesus and the Pharisees. It was they who criticized Jesus and His teaching behind His back as they were afraid of a confrontation with Truth. Compassionate and constructive criticism can be positive, helpful and sometimes even necessary. Murmuring does not help, but it unnecessarily divides. Most often, it is anonymous, since the complainant does not want to come forward. Murmuring against Jesus can be heard today and is directed against His Church. Let us pray that today s Gospel be heard today and let it be a lesson against murmuring leading us into a truthful and responsible dialogue. One time I found a sign reading: A word can be more painful than a fist. Let us avoid needless murmuring, which can stop peace and harmony in any family including the parish one. I want to thank those who came to the meeting regarding the renovation of our Church floor last Monday. There was no murmuring, just full understanding and support. Thank You! - Fr. Richard Milek Respect Life Pope Benedict on Life The causes that lead to such painful decisions as abortion are of course many and complex. If, on the one hand, faithful to her Lord's commandment, the Church never tires of reaffirming that the sacred value of every human being's life originates in the Creator's plan, on the other hand, she encourages the promotion of every initiative in support of women and families in order to create the favorable conditions in which to welcome life, and the protection of the family institution founded on the marriage between a man and a woman. Not only has permitting recourse to the termination of pregnancy not solved the problems that afflict many women and a fair number of families, but it has also made another wound in our society, unfortunately, already burdened by deep suffering (Address of Pope Benedict XVI to Italy s Pro-life Movement, May 12, 2008). Sabina Augustynowicz & Andrzej Burdel The St. Francis Borgia Religious Education Program is accepting registration for the school year on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. in the RE Office, Schoolroom 101, or by appointment. The tuition is $250 for 1 child and $300 for 2 or more children per family plus a $50 registration fee per child which covers books and supplies. Classes meet weekly during the school year; Grades 1-5 meet on Saturday mornings from 9:00-10:30 a.m. and Grades 6-8 on Tuesday evenings from 7:00-8:30 p.m. The registration fee after August 1, 2015, will increase to $75 per child. Registration forms are available in the RE Office, Rectory and in the Church. The registration form/payment may be mailed, brought to the Religious Education or Rectory Office, or put in the Sunday Mass collection. First day of class and Parents Open House for Grades 6-8 will be Tuesday, September 8, from 7:00-8:30 p.m. and for Grades 1-5 on Saturday, September 12, from 9:00-10:30 a.m. New registrants must provide a Baptismal certificate at the time of registration. 7 Planning for World Youth Day 2016 is under way. Just a reminder we are hoping to get a pilgrimage together for The World Youth Day next July in Poland. The idea is to take at least people from our parish for at least days. The program includes several days of main events with the Holy Father as well as spiritual and cultural events. During this pilgrimage we will also be able to experience and enjoy some sightseeing of Poland and its rich history. For further information please contact Fr. Marek at the rectory at First Friday of the Month Devotion The next First Friday Mass will be August 7 at 8:30am. Confessions will be heard from 8:00am. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will take place immediately following the 8:30am Mass. We will pray the Litany of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus for new and holy vocations to the Priesthood and Religious Life. Also in the evening there will be opportunity for Confession from 6:00pm bilingual Confession and 7:00 pm Mass in Polish. GOLDEN CLUB Thursday, August 13th. 9 Z Biurka Księdza Proboszcza... W dzisiejszych czytaniach zaskakuje nas z pewnością stwierdzenie, że Żydzi szemrali przeciwko Bogu. Zastanawiamy się jak ludzie mogli szemrać i przeciwstawiać się Bogu i Jego Synowi. Wygląda na to, że szemranie było ludzką cechą i słabością od samego początku istnienia świata i człowieka. To słowo pojawia się często w Piśmie Świętym w odniesieniu do Jezusa i faryzeuszy. To oni obmawiali i krytykowali Jego naukę poza Jego plecami, bo obawiali się konfrontacji z prawdą. Serdeczna i uzasadniona krytyka może być twórcza i pomocna a czasem jest wręcz konieczna. Szemranie natomiast nie buduje i łączy, lecz rozprasza i dzieli. Najczęściej jest anonimowe, bo brak mu odwagi i szczerości. Szemranie przeciw Jezusowi jest nadal słyszalne dzisiaj i jest skierowane przeciw Jego Kościołowi. Niech dziesiejsza Ewangelia będzie dla nas wyzwaniem do walki z szemraniem i lekcją wzywającą nas do prawdy i odpowiedzialności za każde nasze słowo. Kiedyś dojeżdżając do szkoły języka angielskiego kolejką widziałem następujący napis w środku wagonu: Słowo rani bardziej niż pięść. Nie pozwólmy, aby szemranie zniszczyło pokój i harmonię w jakiejkolwiek wspólnocie parafialnej lub rodzinnej. Dziękujemy tym, którzy wzięli udział w spotkaniu dotyczącym renowacji posadzki w naszym Kościele w ubiegły poniedziałek. Nie było tam żadnego szemrania, wprost przeciwnie, tylko pełne zrozumienie i wsparcie przedstawionego projektu. Bóg zapłać! - Ks.
