4 St. Padre Pio pray for us The Parish of St. Francis Borgia and The St. Padre Pio Prayer Group are celebrating THE 13 TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE CANONIZATION OF ST. PADRE PIO DA PIETRELCINA SUNDAY, 28 JUNE 2015 Festivities begin with Mass at 3:30 p.m. at the St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church (8033 W. Addison St. Chicago), which will be followed by the traditional procession accompanied by the Banda Siciliana. To conclude the celebration an Italian Cuisine Buffet will be served in the Fr. Stokes Center (St. Francis Borgia s Parish Hall) immediately after the procession. 5 The St. Francis Borgia Religious Education Program has completed another faith-filled school year. The students Catholic faith and education were deepened and the Sacraments of First Reconciliation, First Communion and Confirmation were celebrated. The year ended with a beautiful candlelight Rosary celebrated by the Tuesday evening classes and the May Crowning by the Saturday morning classes. Both groups enjoyed a party filled with goodies and good times! The Catechists who give their time are parishioners from varied professional backgrounds. Many of the Catechists also serve in other ministries in the parish such as the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC), the Adoration Chapel, Eucharistic Minister, Lector, Minister of Care, the Bereavement Ministry, and participate in various prayer groups. This strong devotion and commitment to the Catholic faith allows them to share with our students in many ways. ANTHONY MASS SATURDAY, JUNE 13th 2015 at 7:00pm St. Francis Borgia Church Respect Life Married to God The first reading and Gospel today reveal that God loves us so much that he describes himself as our spouse. He is not content to watch us from a distance, nor to simply send his love to us. Rather, he comes radically close to us, fills us with his being, and gives himself entirely to us. We, in turn, are called to give ourselves entirely to him, as to a spouse. The marriage between God and his people, between Christ and his Church, is both permanent and fruitful. This bond of love cannot be broken. Moreover, it always brings about new life in the spirit. It is because the Church is the Bride of Christ that she proclaims the dignity of all human life, and calls us to welcome every life with generosity.

6 From the Pastor s Desk... Last weekend, we celebrated the Feast of the Holy Trinity, which calls us to the love, holiness and unity, which unites the Three Persons of the Holy Trinity. Let us pray to the Holy Spirit for unity and peace in every family and in the world. To better understand the mystery of the Holy Trinity and its unification, we have to receive the Eucharist, which is the highest form of unity between man and God. Today, we celebrate this solemnity which honors the presence of Christ in the Eucharist. When we accept in faith the Body and Blood of Christ in the Eucharist and serve one another with love and mercy. I invite all of You to the multilingual Mass at 1:30pm with the procession to four altars. Let us pray that the feast day be another manifestation of our faith in the True Presence of Christ in the Eucharist. On behave of Italian Catholic Federation I invite all of You to the Padre Pio Mass with procession on Sunday, June 28th at 3:30pm and for the reception after Mass in the Stoke Center. On June 21st we will celebrate Father s Day and in our Church we will have a nine - day Novena for all the Father s. 9 Z biurka Ks. Proboszcza... W ubiegłym tygodniu przeżywaliśmy Uroczystość Trójcy Przenajświętszej, która wzywa nas do takiej miłości i jedności, jaka łączy Trzy Osoby Trójcy Przenajświętszej. W zrozumieniu tej tajemnicy pomaga nam Eucharystia i częste przyjmowanie Komunii Świętej, która jest najwyższą formą zjednoczenia człowieka z Bogiem. Dzisiaj przypada Święto Bożego Ciała. W naszej Parafii będzie odprawiona uroczysta wielojęzyczna Msza Św. o godz. 1:30 po południu z procesją Eucharystyczną do czterech ołtarzy. Uroczystość Najświętszego Serca Pana Jezusa W piątek 12 czerwca obchodzimy Uroczystość Najświętszego Serca Pana Jezusa. W ten sposób spełniamy życzenie Boskiego Zbawcy, który objawił się Św. Małgorzacie Marii Alacoque 16 czerwca 1675 r. w Paray-le-Monial. Również w tym dniu przypada 21 Światowy Dzień Modlitw o Uświęcenie Kapłanów, obchodzony od 1995 roku z inicjatywy papieża Jana Pawła II w Uroczystość Najświętszego Serca Pana Jezusa. Jest on doskonałą okazją do modlitwy za kapłanów, aby byli pasterzami według Serca Jezusowego. Zapraszamy na Msze Świętą oraz Nabożeństwo do Serca Pana Jezusa o godz. 7 wieczorem.
