2 P ASTOR` S LETTER / LIST OJCA PROBOSZCZA Dear parishioners and guests, Annual catholic Appeal is approaching in which all parishes in the Archdiocese of Chicago will participate. I would like to give you some details about it today. First, I would like to remind you that our parish, due to the campaign, "Teach Who Christ Is" was exempt from the campaign last year. This year we are invited to participate in the campaign. Thanks to the collected funds, we help the existence of church institutions in the Archdiocese of Chicago, we support the activities of Catholic schools and educational programs, protect the lives of conceived children and support those who suffered because of natural disasters. We do this and we want to do it so that the Church can work for the glory of God and the benefit of God s people. Our parish goal this year is $ 17,290, which gives 6% of our annual collection. Our parish was very generous in all previous Catholic Appeals. Not only were we able to collect the amount assigned to us, but we have always exceeded it. I want to thank you for your generosity and ask you to be generous this year as well. The amount that we will be able to collect over the set goal will be entirely returned to the needs of our parish. This year's Catholic Appeal will be carried out in our, and all parishes of the Archdiocese of Chicago, on the weekend of February 3-4 and repeated for those who will not be present, a week later, February Let us remember that God loves a generous giver and that the development and future of the local church depends on us. We ask that you respond as generously as possible. The Appeal supports both Parish and Archdiocesan ministries and services. This year, the theme of the Appeal is Come, Follow Me. We have all received God s love. By financially supporting the ministries and services funded by the ACA, we help to extend God s love to many, many others. Jeśli chodzi o wszystkie wcześniejsze kwesty, nasza parafia była bardzo hojna. Nie tylko byliśmy w stanie zebrać wyznaczoną nam kwotę, ale zawsze ją przekraczaliśmy. Chce wam podziękować za hojność oraz prosić was o ofiarność także w tym roku. Kwota, którą uda nam się zebrać ponad wyznaczony cel, zostanie w całości zwrócona na potrzeby naszej parafii. Tegoroczna kwesta zostanie przeprowadzona w naszej i we wszystkich parafiach Archidiecezji Chicago w weekend 3-4 lutego i powtórzona dla tych, którzy nie będą obecni, tydzień później lutego. 6 THE WOMEN S CENTER BULLETIN ANNOUNCEMENT FOR JANUARY January 22 nd marks the 45th anniversary of the legalization of abortion which has resulted in the death of nearly 55 million innocent, unborn babies in this country, one every 30 seconds. The Women s Center has saved over 39,000 babies and their mothers from the pain of abortion in our 33 years of service. We offer counseling, material assistance, prayer support and more. PART TIME JOB OPENINGS: Seeking RDMS Certified Sonographers to conduct limited OB ultrasounds. Multiple shifts are available in our Cicero Avenue (north side) office and Evergreen Park office. Yes, it is even upon the undocumented resident alien who has no voice but ours. As followers of Jesus Christ, we are all called to protect the voiceless. Let us pray... Good and gracious God, you blew into our nostrils the breath of life. You are the One to whom we owe our very existence. Give us the courage to take that unpopular position of protecting those who have no voice, the unborn child in the womb to the person taking his or her last breath. The life you have given us is a gift beyond measure. Embolden us to speak the truth about protecting the child, the elderly, and the one without a voice in the public square. With thankful hearts, we ask all this of the One God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen.
