2 Pastor`s Letter / List Ojca Proboszcza Dear parishioners and guests, "Straighten paths for the Lord," says John the Baptist in today's Gospel. In the time of Jesus, when a king or emperor came to a city, the first thing the residents did was prepare the way for him. The boulders were leveled, the pits were filled, the surface was dried, the shoulders were beautified. It was such a great event that everyone was involved in its preparation. The special guest had to be exceptionally well received. John is calling us to prepare the way for Jesus. If roads were prepared for the emperor, how much more should they be prepared for the King of kings and Lord of lords? Of course, this is not about asphalt roads or concrete roads, but about the paths of our lives which, through sin, become bumpy and difficult to cross. John wants us to prepare our hearts for a meeting with God who comes to us. It is therefore worth during this time of Advent to devote more attention to your spiritual development. It is worth doing cleanup in our spiritual home, just as we do general cleaning in our apartments, and all this to help us celebrate better. A carefully cleaned apartment is a sign of our respect for invited guests, an expression of our love and concern for them. None of us invites guests to a dirty and stinking home. Just as we use chemicals to clean the home, so the Church gives us all the necessary means to make our souls clean, and make the Lord Jesus happy. We go to listen to spiritual talks, come to the confessional boxes to confess our weakness and accept the forgiving power of mercy, we spend more time in prayer and reading good spiritual books. All this purifies and prepares our interior for the reception of God. Let us ask God for the grace of a good experience of Advent. May our hearts be pleasing to God who will soon come to fill us with his light and peace. May Mary, our Mother prepare us well for that exceptional, spiritual event. Drodzy parafianie i goście, Prostujcie ścieżki dla Pana woła Jan Chrzciciel w dzisiejszej Ewangelii. W czasach Jezusa, kiedy przybywał do jakiegoś miasta król bądź cesarz, pierwszą rzeczą, którą robili mieszkańcy, to przygotowywali dla niego drogę. Równano wyboje, zasypywano doły, osuszano nawierzchnię, upiększano pobocza. Było to tak wielkie wydarzenie, że wszyscy byli zaangażowani w jego przygotowanie. Wyjątkowy gość musiał być wyjątkowo przyjęty. Jan nawołuje nas do przygotowania dróg dla Jezusa. Jeśli dla cesarza przygotowywano drogi, to o ileż bardziej powinny być one przygotowane dla Króla królów i Pana panów. Nie chodzi tutaj oczywiście o drogi asfaltowe czy betonowe, ale o drogi naszego życia, które przez grzech stają się wyboiste i trudne do przebycia. Jan pragnie, abyśmy przygotowali nasze serca na spotkanie z Bogiem, który do nas przychodzi. Warto zatem w tym czasie adwentu poświęcić więcej uwagi na swój duchowy rozwój. Warto zrobić porządki w naszym duchowym domu, tak, jak robimy generalne porządki w naszych mieszkaniach, a wszystko po to, by się nam lepiej świętowało. Starannie wysprzątane mieszkanie jest oznaka naszego szacunku do zaproszonych gości, wyrazem naszej miłości i troski o nich. Nikt z nas nie zaprasza gości do brudnego i cuchnącego domu. Tak, jak używamy środków chemicznych do sprzątania domu, tak też Kościół daje nam w tym czasie wszystkie potrzebne środki do tego, by nasze dusze oczyścić i uczynić miłymi dla przychodzącego Jezusa. Korzystamy w tym czasie z rekolekcji, przychodzimy do kratek konfesjonału, by wyznać swoją słabość i przyjąć przebaczającą moc miłosierdzia, spędzamy więcej czasu na modlitwie i czytaniu dobrych duchowych książek. Wszystko to oczyszcza i przygotowuje nasze wnętrza na przyjęcie Boga. Prośmy Boga o łaskę dobrego przeżycia czasu adwentu. Niech nasze serca będą miłe Bogu, który przyjdzie niebawem, by nas napełnić swoim światłem i pokojem.
