(773) Reflecting on God s Word Once in a while I ind myself in the pew at a liturgical celebration, and I confess I like to sit near the front and watch all the people as they come back from receiving Holy Communion. I know what all the books say about that, what my teachers taught, and what the priests I ve listened to have preached. They said you re supposed to be praying, but I can t help it. I just like to watch all the folks. I think God may even like it as much as I do. When I sit there watching them, I think about how we re all believers of one sort or another. George, who every week comes alone, without his family. And Melissa, who lirts with all the boys more than she should, and whose parents hardly ever seem to smile. And Mr. P., who always casts his eyes downward and folds his hands upward. And Agnes, who seems to have been caring for her aging mother for as long as anyone in the church can remember and who herself is now beginning to show signs of aging as well. And the lanky high schooler who must play basketball well, because he s certainly tall enough and wears a letter proudly on his school jacket. And Arthur, whose wife just died. And a couple hundred other believers as well. They re all here, every Sunday, and they re all part of the Body of Christ. It s also why I m a believer, because they re believers; and most of the time I need them to be believers just so I can be a believer. Thomas of this week s Gospel couldn t be a believer on his own. Having missed the Sunday gathering, he just couldn t say yes on his own. But one week later when he was there with all the others, that made all the difference in the world. In fact it made him a believer. So that s why I watch all the folks processing by after they receive Holy Communion. They make me a believer. Rev. Joseph J. When she was almost twenty, she entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy, whose members devote themselves to the care and education of troubled young women. The following year she received her religious habit and was given the name Sister Maria Faustina, to which she added, "of the Most Blessed Sacrament", as was permitted by her congregation's custom. In the 1930's, Sister Faustina received from the Lord a message of mercy that she was told to spread throughout the world. She was asked to become the apostle and secretary of God's mercy, a model of how to be merciful to others, and an instrument for reemphasizing God's plan of mercy for the world. It was not a glamorous prospect. Her entire life, in imitation of Christ's, was to be a sacrifice - a life lived for others. At the Divine Lord's request, she willingly offered her personal sufferings in union with Him to atone for the sins of others; in her daily life she was to become a doer of mercy, bringing joy and peace to others, and by writing about God's mercy, she was to encourage others to trust in Him and thus prepare the world for His coming again. Her special devotion to Mary Immaculate and to the sacraments of Eucharist and Reconciliation gave her the strength to bear all her sufferings as an offering to God on behalf of the Church and those in special need, especially great sinners and the dying. She wrote and suffered in secret, with only her spiritual director and some of her superiors aware that anything special was taking place in her life. After her death from tuberculosis in 1938, even her closest associates were amazed as they began to discover what great sufferings and deep mystical experiences had been given to this Sister of theirs, who had always been so cheerful and humble. She had taken deeply into her heart, God's gospel command to "be merciful even as your heavenly Father is merciful" as well as her confessor's directive that she should act in such a way that everyone who came in contact with her would go away joyful. The message of mercy that Sister Faustina received is now being spread throughout the world; her diary, Divine Mercy in my Soul, has become the handbook for devotion to the Divine Mercy.

5 THANK YOU!!! On Sunday afternoon, March 23rd, 55young adults were con irmed by Bishop Andrew P. Wypych at our parish. After the con irmation a reception was held for the con irmandi and their guests in our parish hall. At that time pictures were also taken with the Bishop. It said that everyone has an angel to help and guide them. Well here at St. Camillus we are blessed to have angels willing to volunteer their time and efforts to help when needed. We would like to personally thank the following angels for all their help in organizing and preparing the con irmandi s reception Lucyna Kaminski, Krystyna Lukasik, Elizabeth Poremba, Stanley Kowalczyk. Without their help the reception wouldn t have gone as smoothly as it did. Once again THANK YOU to all our angels. May God Reward You!
