It s a good name for a newspaper because it refers to one who proclaims signi icant news. It also can refer to a person who comes before to announce what will follow, a forerunner like John. The angels who heralded the good news of Jesus birth it into a long line of heralds who proclaimed that God s promises would at last be ful illed. This week everyone seems to be announcing good news. Isaiah and the psalmist herald and describe others heralding glad tidings. Mark proclaims the gospel [or good news ] of Jesus Christ (Mark 1:1). He also depicts John as a herald in the tradition of Isaiah. And Peter speaks eloquently of God s promise and patience. Can we bring ourselves to hearken to their words and believe them? DZIĘKUJEMY! wszystkim za wparcie naszej para ii. REKOLEKCJE ADWENTOWE Serdecznie zapraszamy do udziału w rekolekcjach przygotowujących nas do Świąt Bożego Narodzenia. Rekolekcje rozpoczną się w niedzielę, 14 grudnia i będą trwały do środy, 17 grudnia. Rekolekcje wygłosi Ojciec Romuald Gościewski, Karmelita z Krakowskiej Prowincji Karmelitów Bosych. Ojciec Romuald urodził się 13 lutego 1972 roku w Suwałkach. Święcenia przyjął w dniu 4 maja 2002 roku w Krakowie. Od września 2008 roku pracuje na misjach na Ukrainie. Msze św. w czasie rekolekcji będą odprawiane o godz. 10:30 rano oraz o godz. 7:00 wieczorem. Już teraz tak zaplanujmy swój czas, abyśmy mogli jak najwięcej skorzystać z nauk rekolekcyjnych. Każdego dnia podczas rekolekcji, rano od godz. 10:00 do 11:30 oraz wieczorem od godz. 6:30 do 8:00 będzie możliwość korzystania z sakramentu spowiedzi. Z uwagi na to, że będzie to jednocześnie spowiedź przedświąteczna, bardzo prosimy o skorzystanie w tym czasie z okazji do spowiedzi i nie odkładanie jej na ostatnią chwilę. Monday, December 8, 2014 is the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, the patronal feast of the United States. Because of the importance of this Solemnity, which celebrates the saving work of God in preserving Our Lady from the stain of original sin, December 8 th is always a Holy Day of Obligation, even when it falls on a Saturday or Monday. Holy Masses are scheduled as follows: 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM in the English language, plus 10:30 AM and 7:00 PM in the Polish language. On Monday, December 8th, in honor of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary our Rectory Of ice will be closed. W poniedziałek, 8 grudnia przypada Uroczystość Niepokalanego Poczęcia NMP. Na wszystkich Mszach św. będzie możliwość złożenia przyrzeczeń modlitwy. Mogą one zadecydować o narodzinach lub śmierci dziecka. Mogą być także formą duchowego wsparcia dla obojga rodziców. Opowiadamy się w ten sposób za życiem i wyrażamy prawdę, że dzieko jest wielkim darem i przyszłością każdej rodziny. Prosimy, dzielcie się miłością do życia, które jest nam dane przez Boga i przyłączcie się do dzieła Duchowej Adopcji! Każdego bowiem dnia, w USA w wyniku aborcji ginie około 4000 dzieci. Duchowa Adopcja jest modlitwą w intencji dziecka zagrożonego zabiciem w łonie matki. Trwa dziewięć miesięcy. Polega na odmawianiu codziennej modlitwy w intencji dziecka i jego rodziców oraz jednej z dwudziestu tajemnic Różańca. Można także dołączyć dowolnie wybrane praktyki, na przykład częstą spowiedź i komunię świętą, Adorację Najświętszego Sakramentu, post, pomoc potrzebującym czy dodatkowe modlitwy.

5 November 19, 2014 Dear Father and Parish Staff, Yesterday, I mentioned that one of the reasons I chose November 18 for my installation was to highlight in this Year of Consecrated Life the great contribution of religious women as the Church celebrated the feast of St. Rose Philippine Duchesne, RSCJ. And so, I am pleased that my irst letter to you is a request asking for your help in promoting the annual appeal for the Retirement Fund for Religious. Each of us has our own story of how our faith lives have been enriched by religious through their ministry in our dioceses, parishes, schools, hospitals and in countless other ways. Their efforts and service have allowed the Church to put its best foot forward and the world is better for it. As I ask your support of this appeal, I invite you to think of it not only in terms of a matter of justice to care for their needs, but as an act of solidarity with them, letting them know that our appreciation for their witness is so strong that it prompts a desire to join them in their unique contribution to the life of the Church and society. That is the message I ask you to share with your parishioners on the weekend of December 13/14, as you take up this special collection. Please feel free to share this letter from the pulpit and/or publish it in your parish bulletin. I take this opportunity to thank you for the many ways you as pastor and parish staff witness to the Gospel by your service to the people under your pastoral care.
