In the process, she says, she also irons out her life, all its wrinkles and creases. She says she can stand neither her clothes nor her life when they re all rumpled. John runs every day. A lot of folks do. He hasn t missed a day in ive years. But it s also where he and they pace out the rhythms of their lives. More than one frazzled mother has locked herself in the bathroom for twenty minutes of solitude and quasi-peace. Sometimes deserts look like bathrooms. Even teenagers know the need, so they crank up some tunes, stretch out on their beds, and listen beyond the music to the melodies played upon their lives. I suspect there is a lot going on in those spaces. That s where kids get raised and loves get sorted and businesses are merged and decisions unraveled and re-raveled. But somewhere in the midst of it all we also make some decisions about who and what we want to become in this life at any age. That s where goodness has a chance to surface and values are af irmed and commitments are remade for the umpteenth time and faith sprouts forth. 3 Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time Page Three World Day of the Sick The 11th of February, was designated by Pope Saint John Paul II as the World Day of the Sick. On the 11th anniversary of the attempt on his life, Pope Saint John Paul II established this date, the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, as an opportunity for the faithful to pay special attention to the needs of the sick and suffering, and as a reminder of the dignity of human life, from natural conception to natural death. We encourage everyone to offer special attention to, and prayers for, the sick and suffering, especially those who are members of our families and of our parish. Światowy Dzień Chorego W dniu 11 lutego, obchodzony jest Światowy Dzień Chorego. Światowy Dzień Chorego został ustanowiony przez Świętego Jana Pawła II w 1992 roku, w 11tą rocznicę zamachu na Jego życie. Święty Jan Paweł II wyznaczył datę 11go lutego na coroczne obchody Dnia Chorego, gdyż jest to dzień liturgicznego wspomnienia pierwszego objawienia Matki Bożej w Lourdes. Celem Światowego Dnia chorego jest uwrażliwienie wiernych na potrzeby cierpiących, zapewnienie lepszej opieki chorym, a także przypomnienie o godności życia ludzkiego od poczęcia aż do naturalnej śmierci. W naszych prywatnych modlitwach polecajmy więc w tym dniu wszystkich chorych w naszych rodzinach i w naszej para ii. OUR MOTHER OF PERPETUAL HELP DEVOTION On Saturday, February 14th, at 7:00 PM in our church Our Mother of Perpetual Help devotion will take place. The program is as follows: Holy Mass, Rosary, special prayers for your own intentions, act of offering ourselves under the care of Our Mother of Perpetual Help. Everyone is invited to join us in prayer.
