(773) Jubilee Year of Mercy How appropriate today s Gospel for this Jubilee Year of Mercy, both because of the breakfast Jesus provides ( a charcoal ire with ish on it and bread ) and the number of ish in Peter s net ( one hundred ifty-three ) (John 21:11 12). Of the ish, Saint Augustine suggests that the roasted ish is the suffering Christ. Saint Gregory the Great adds that Christ lowered himself to swim in the water of our humanity; to be caught in the net of our death; to be roasted in his Passion on the ire of suffering. Saint Jerome claims that one hundred ifty-three represents the full number of known species of ish, signifying that the Church s net has room for all our widely diverse humanity, securing our unity-in-diversity in the hands of Peter and his successors. Having received God s mercy as the beating heart of the Gospel, may the Church we pattern [our] behavior after the Son of God who went out to everyone without exception (Misericordiae Vultus, 12). 5 THANK YOU!!! On Sunday afternoon, March 6th, 57 young adults were con irmed by Bishop Andrew P. Wypych at our parish. After the con irmation a reception was held for the con irmandi and their guests in our parish hall. At that time pictures were also taken with the Bishop. It said that everyone has an angel to help and guide them. Well here at St. Camillus we are blessed to have angels willing to volunteer their time and efforts to help when needed. We would like to personally thank the following angels for all their help in organizing and preparing the con irmandi s reception Lucyna Kaminski, Krystyna Lukasik, Elizabeth Poremba. Without their help the reception wouldn t have gone as smoothly as it did. Once again THANK YOU to all our angels. May God Reward You!
