(773) Jubilee Year of Mercy The word mercy, Pope Francis declared in his announcement of the Jubilee Year of Mercy, reveals the very mystery of the Most Holy Trinity (Misericordiae Vultus, 2). For mercy is how God comes to meet us; mercy is the fundamental law helping us recognize everyone as brothers and sisters; mercy is the bridge connecting God and humanity, opening our hearts to the hope of being loved forever despite our sinfulness. God s selfrevelation as a life-giving, love-sharing Trinity of Persons draws us closer to God in friendship and communion. Both Judaism and Islam consider mercy one of God s most important attributes. Israel unceasingly proclaims God boundless in mercy. Islam addresses the Creator as Merciful and Kind, believing divine mercy limitless, its doors always open. May this Jubilee Year of Mercy, Pope Francis prays, open us to more fervent dialogue, deepen our mutual understanding, eliminate all closed-minded disrespect, and drive out every form of violence and discrimination. Memorial Day Service The Memorial Day Association of Resurrection Cemetery is inviting all Veterans and Ladies Auxiliaries to its Memorial Day observance beginning at 8:30 AM on Monday, May 30th, 2016 at the Resurrection Cemetery Administration Building on the East side of the cemetery located at 7200 South Archer Avenue, Justice Illinois. A sign in of the units present will take place and a march will start at 9:00 AM to the Veteran's Monument where a short program will take place, ending with taps and a 21 gun salute to all our fallen comrades. Uroczysta Msza św. z procesją do czterech ołtarzy ulicami naszego bloku zostanie odprawiona o godz. 10:15 rano. The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ Next Sunday, May 29th, will be the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ {Corpus Christi}. On that day, the 10:30 am Polish Mass will begin at 10:15 am and be followed by the Corpus Christi procession to four altars in our neighborhood. All are welcome to participate. 5 Of ice of the Archbishop 835 North Rush Street Chicago, IL archchicago.org April 25 Jubilee of Mercy Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ, At its heart, Renew My Church in the Archdiocese of Chicago is a spiritual initiative. We seek to be more and more attuned to the directions in which the Lord is leading us as a community of faith. There are many activities that belong to the process of Renew My Church, for example, gathering and analyzing data, meeting to discuss choices that are to be made, and working to implement decisions. Above all, however, the Lord summons us to prayer. We are called to pray for wisdom, discernment, and courage as we move forward. We are called to pray for persevering idelity to accomplish what the Lord wants of us. The enclosed prayer will help us as a local Church to pray with a common voice as we face a common challenge of moving into the future with faith, hope, and love. In this spirit of unity in prayer, I ask all parishes in the Archdiocese to use this prayer as the inal prayer of the General Intercessions at Pentecost weekend Masses. If Pentecost coincides with a special celebration or event in the parish, for example, First Communion or a capital campaign commitment, please use the prayer on the next available weekend. After Pentecost, continue to use the prayer in different ways. You may pray it on the irst Sunday of each month or more frequently. Begin parish meetings or gatherings with this prayer. Incorporate it in religious education and adult faith formation. Consider pasting it in the inside cover of your hymnals. Encourage individuals and families to pray this prayer at home. Encourage the sick and those who are homebound to pray for Renew My Church. Their intercessory prayer is powerful in the life of the Church. And, of course, allow your creativity to bring this prayer into the life of our communities in other ways as well.
