Agri-Food Fair in Poland 2009

Since 1 May 2004, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has been running a pro gram me en ti tled PDŻ Try Fi ne Fo od. The ma in ob jec ti ve of the pro gram me is to disseminate information about high quality food products. The Ministry of Agriculture and Ru ral De ve lop ment is the owner of the PDŻ Try Fi ne Fo od mark. The Mi ni ster has ap po in - ted a group of independent experts Scientific Council for Quality of Food Products responsible for establishing criteria and rules of appraisal, in order to maintain independent judgment. The Council consists of scientific personnel working in food business on daily basis. It is worth men tio ning that par ti ci pa tion in the PDŻ Try Fi ne Fo od pro gram me is en ti re ly vo lun ta ry and any EU en tre pre neur may ap ply for the pro gram me free of char ge. The pro du cers do not be ar any co sts in con nec tion with ob ta ining and using PDŻ Try Fi ne Fo od mark. The on ly expen se is as so cia ted with pre pa ra tion of all documents needed for evaluation. To propose a product for the programme, the producer receives standard ap pli ca tion forms and a list of ana ly ses to be car ried out for the pro duct qu ali ty eva lu ation. The PDŻ Try Fi ne Fo od mark gran ted by the Mi ni stry of Agri cul tu re and Ru ral De ve lop ment con firms the pro duct high and uni que qu ali ty, and im pro ves its re nown in the ey es of con su mers. In for ma tion on high and sta ble qu ali ty of the pro duct helps bu ild up trust in to cer ta in fo od pro ducts. On ly pro du cers are en ti tled to ap ply for the PDŻ Try Fi ne Fo od mark. The gro ups of pro ducts co ve red by the pro gram me are as fol lows: ä meat and meat preparations ä eggs and egg pro ducts ä milk and milk pro ducts ä fruit, vegetables (including potatoes) fungi and their preparations ä cereals and their mixtures (including bread) ä fish, seafood and their preparations ä be ve ra ges ä mineral water ä honey ä confectionery and biscuits ä herbs and spi ces ä edible fats ä high qu ali ty be er and spi rit drinks ä mixed products and highly processed products from the above mentioned raw materials In or der to en su re a con stant and ve ry high qu ali ty of the mar ked pro ducts, as well as to en su re the re lia bi li ty of the raw materials origin, the programme provides for the following maximum validity periods for the mark: First ti me the mark is gran ted to the pro duct for the pe riod of up to 3 years. Next time the mark isgranted to the product for the period of up to 5 years. Until now this pre sti ge mark of high and sta ble qu ali ty pro ducts has be en gi ven to the pro ducts of 85 bu si nesses in the agri -fo od sec tor. The PDŻ Try Fi ne Fo od mark is al re ady pre sent on 850 me at pro ducts, da iry pro ducts, fru it and vegetable products, biscuits and sweets. 2007 was a ve ry im por tant year for the PDŻ Try Fi ne Fo od pro gram me. For the first ti me the re as si gn ment pro ce du re was im ple men ted for the Try Fi ne Fo od marks which we re first gran ted three years ago. In te rest in new pro ducts, so lu tions and eve ry thing that is ne eded in agri cul tu ral pro duc tion and agri -fo od pro ces sing is al so le ading to spe cia li sa tion in the area of fa irs and exhi bi tions. Eve ry year the se events sa tis fy bet ter expec ta tions of the par ti ci pants and vi si tors. The re is a re mar ka ble de ve lop ment of re gio nal fa irs and exhi bi tions ad ju sted to the spe ci fi ci ty of agri cul tu ral pro duc tion wi thin a gi ven area. The in cre asing num ber of such events is ga ining re co gni tion on the exhi bi tion map of the co un try. The re fo re, in te rest of exhi bi tors and vi si tors grows. Far mers are ve ry go od cu sto mers. It is a gro up which uses EU re so ur ces ve ry well. So me pe ople cla im that the EU aid de li ve red to the Po lish ru ral are as will bring enor mo us in co me to far mers. It is not li ke that. Far mers in vest in and mo der ni se the ir hol dings.
