Page Two June 2, 2013 SPIRITUAL REFLECTION Reflecting on God s Word I came across a little book not too long ago that offered a selection of B and Bs ( Bed and Breakfast residences) where travelers could stay in a certain state. The promise of a good B and B is a clean place, a good night s sleep, and a good meal to begin the day. In short, rest and sustenance. Is it too irreverent to propose that today s feast is a reminder that we believers have available the B and B of all B and Bs in the Eucharist? This sacrament of the Body and Blood of Christ offers an ongoing opportunity for rest and sustenance with the Lord. Today s scriptures all deal with offering sustenance, beginning with Melchizedek presenting Abraham a little bread and wine along with a blessing. Then there is Paul reminding the fractious Corinthians how eating the bread and wine sustains them as they proclaim the death of the Lord until he comes. Finally, Jesus provides rest and sustenance for his disciples, along with five thousand others who show up. My late stepfather worked off a truck, checking gas meters and doing repairs for the Baltimore Gas and Electric Company. He used to stop in a church and have his lunch there. He said it provided him a chance to talk to the Lord and rest for a few moments in the Lord s presence. It sustained him over the years. Again, rest and sustenance. God s ongoing hospitality in the Eucharist has continued over generations to offer rest and sustenance. What could be better than having the Lord coming to dwell within us, giving us the nourishment necessary to sustain us on our journey? James A. Wallace, C.SS.R. Living God s Word When you go to church this week, read the Sequence for today s solemnity in the missalette. You can find it after the second reading. Znalazło się pięć chlebów i dwie ryby, a Jezus spojrzał w niebo i odmówiwszy nad nimi błogosławieństwo, połamał i dawał uczniom, by podawali ludowi. Copyright 2012, World Library Publications. All rights reserved. - ks. Idzi -

The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ Page Five In the early morning of Monday, May 6th, this truck brought our new Air-Conditioning Unit to our Parish, which you can see from the pictures above. The one that was installed was the last one that is placed on the truck. The old Unit was taken out and we said Good-bye forever! This unit has served our Parish many years and it was time to bid it adieu! As you can see from the picture included, a crane with a long arm was used to transport both the old and new units. Pictures also include the many stages of the new unit being installed. We hope you will be satisfied with this project. More details about this project will be in one of the future bulletins.

Michael Ryszard Gacek SOLEMNITY OF THE BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST The Feast of Corpus Christi also known as Corpus Domini, is a Latin Rite liturgical solemnity celebrating the tradition and belief in the body and blood of Jesus Christ and his Real Presence in the Eucharist. The feast is liturgically celebrated on the Thursday after Trinity Sunday or, "where the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ is not a Holy Day of Obligation, it is assigned to the Sunday after the Most Holy Trinity as its proper day". At the end of Holy Mass, there is often a procession of the Blessed Sacrament, generally displayed in a monstrance. The procession is followed by Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. In our Parish, we will have a special devotion to honor this Solemnity at the beginning of the 10:30 AM Mass and after the 12:15 PM Mass. Both Bread and Wine will be given during Holy Communion. PLEASE REMEMBER... Friday, June 7th, is the First Friday of the month. Please remember to pray in a special way to the Blessed Sacrament. Also, please remember that we have all-day adoration beginning after the 8:00 A.M. Mass. 7-mej wieczorem.
