pastor`s letter /list ojca proboszcza Dear parishioners and guests, "And although he was a son, he learned obedience through what he suffered" we hear today in second reading from the letter of Saint. Paul to the Hebrews. We have become accustomed to the fact that Jesus is the Son of God, existing for centuries in the heart of the Father, in whose power everything has been called into existence and through whose merits we have been saved from eternal death. We got used to Jesus so much - God's Son and God, that we sometimes forget that he was also a man like us in everything but sin. As a man, therefore, like us, he enjoyed the freshness of the morning, the beauty of the sky, the warmth of the sun and the quiet of the night, but also as we he suffered, wept, and felt the fear of dying in Gethsemane. Through pain, God shaped his sensitivity and taught him how to be fully human. If we admire the saints, let us not forget that they have become saints by going through the fire of suffering. There is no saint in the history of the church who would have an easy and carefree life based on comfort and earthly pleasures. John Paul 2, whom we worship in our church, became a saint after the loss of a mother in the early age, after the death of his brother and father, after the execution of his closest friends in concentration camps, after the assassination of his life and finally after a serious illness in which he spoke in a quiet voice to the friends gathered at his bed, let me go to the Father's house. It is impossible to be fully holy without becoming fully human. It is impossible to become fully human without suffering. At the end of this Lent, let us look at the suffering Lord and learn from Him how to suffer, forgive and love. Let us learn from Jesus how to become fully human and fully holy. Pawła do Hebrajczyków. Przyzwyczailiśmy się już do tego, że Jezus jest Synem Boga, istniejącym od wieków w sercu Ojca, w mocy którego wszystko zostało powołane do istnienia i przez którego zasługi zostaliśmy zbawieni od śmierci wiecznej. Tak bardzo się przyzwyczailiśmy do Jezusa Bożego Syna i Boga, że czasem zapominamy o tym, że był on także człowiekiem, podobnym do nas we wszystkim, oprócz grzechu. Jako człowiek zatem, podobnie jak my cieszył się świeżością poranka, błękitem nieba, ciepłem słońca i spokojem nocy ale także podobnie jak my cierpiał, płakał, odczuwał lęk i trwogę konania w Ogrójcu. Poprzez cierpienie Bóg kształtował jego wrażliwość i uczył Go jak być w pełni człowiekiem. Jeśli podziwiamy świętych, to nie zapominajmy o tym, że stali się oni świętymi przechodząc przez ogień cierpienia. Nie ma świętego w dziejach kościoła, który miałby łatwe i beztroskie życie, oparte na wygodach i ziemskich przyjemnościach. Jan Paweł 2, którego czcimy w naszym kościele, został świętym po utracie mamy we wczesnym wieku, po śmierci brata i ojca, po egzekucji jego najbliższych przyjaciół w obozach koncentracyjnych, po zamachu na swoje życie i wreszcie po ciężkiej chorobie, w której cichym głosem mówił do zebranych przy swoim łóżku przyjaciół pozwólcie mi odejść do domu Ojca. Nie sposób być w pełni świętym bez stania się w pełni człowiekiem. Nie sposób stać się w pełni człowiekiem bez cierpienia. U finiszu tego Wielkiego Postu wpatrujmy się w cierpiącego Pana i uczmy się od niego cierpieć, przebaczać i kochać. Uczmy się od Jezusa, jak stawać się w pełni ludźmi i w pełni świętymi. In Hebrew, the word means "olive press," and it was an olive grove, although only a few trees remain. Olives can't be eaten off the trees, they need to be cured--knocked from the trees at harvest time, scooped into a stone basin, and cracked open by a heavy millstone. The crushing stone weight was itself called a "gethsemane," and once it was lowered onto the olives, oil from the fruit and the inner stone would drip into a groove and flow into jars. The night before his death, Jesus experienced such anguish that scripture says his own blood perspired from him, an image no one who understands olive oil production could miss.today, the Mount of Olives is within the city of Jerusalem and the site of the Church of All Nations, also known as the Basilica of the Agony. It was built in 1924, funded by Catholics in twelve different countries. An open-air altar on the grounds is used by Anglicans on Holy Thursday every year. Nearby is the Russian Church of Mary Magdalene, built by the czar in 1888, its magnificent golden domes a distinctive landmark. There is also another tiny Catholic Church, called Dominus Flevit, or "The Cry of the Lord," built in a teardrop shape in the mid-1950s. For centuries, the Franciscan order has had the care of the shrines of the Holy Land, and our Good Friday collection helps sustain these precious sites.
