Page Two December 7, 2008 November 21, 2008 Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, The annual Retirement Fund for Religious Appeal has provided much needed assistance to women and men religious who have faithfully and generously served in our schools, hospitals, parishes and communities for years. They ministered in the spirit of the Gospel, asking little in return. They invested, not in pension plans, but in ministry, in people and in the future of the church they served. The people of our Archdiocese have always responded very generously to this yearly appeal, contributing over $1 million last year alone. I am very proud of your willingness to share in the care of our aging women and men religious. I urge you to again support this appeal and to hold our religious sisters, brothers and priests in your hearts and in your prayers. I invite you to journey with them in hope, and grow with them in love, especially during this Advent season. May God bless you and your loved ones. You are in my prayers; please keep me in yours. Obecnie zwracam się do Was ponownie z prośbą o dalsze wsparcie i pomoc. Oddany w Chrystusie Panu, Francis Kardynał George, O.M.I. Arcybiskup Chicago

NEWS OF COMFORT In a time of preparation, much of it having to do with material things, it is good to hear the words of Isaiah, Comfort, give comfort to my people, / says your God (Isaiah 40:1). In a time of such stress and rush, when our usual burdens are augmented by piles of Christmas preparations, we can choose to slow down, take some time to heal, and appreciate the enormous gift we are about to receive. Christ, the Son of God, has become one of us, and knows our human limitations. Yet God, even now, is freeing us from the burdens that our inattentiveness to our God and to our deepest inner longings have heaped upon us. The Lord comes, not as a king with mighty armies, but as a shepherd leading the flocks with care and tenderness. Isaiah prophesies good news: our oppression is over, our sins forgiven. The savior we have awaited is coming, not the first time, but in the end times, as our salvation. Copyright, J. S. Paluch Co. Our Christmas meeting is on Sunday, December 14, 2008. All members, their wives, the widows of our former members and the ladies from the Catholic Women s Club are cordially invited to attend our 9:00 AM Mass. Following the Mass, we will have our Annual Christmas Meeting in the Round Room located on the Lower Level of the Rectory. Coffee and sweet rolls will be served and we have gifts for the ladies! Please attend!! Pictured are our new collection baskets. The previous ones were very old the wicker was beginning to unravel. As with all church goods, the ten baskets were expensive $65 each. With the new baskets, we pray for a renewed sense of stewardship giving to meet the ever increasing operating expense our parish YOUR parish faces. May the new baskets be filled to overflowing!!! NEW COLLECTION BASKETS! NOWE KOSZYKI DO ZBIERANIA OFIAR!
