Remember, before the reform of our prayer in the late 1960s, the priest whispered the words of the Roman Canon, Eucharistic Prayer I. His voice was not ampli ied, his back was to the people, who could only tell what was going on by a shift in his posture as he bowed and genu- lected and as bells were rung to indicate his progress through the prayer. With the emergence of the new prayers, some feared that the old prayer would be lost forever if it weren t somehow changed. The reformers asked that it be streamlined a bit by omitting the repeated Through Christ at the end of various intercessions, and trimming the list of somewhat obscure saints. The new edition therefore brackets parts of the two lists of saints in the prayer, unfortunately dropping all the women from the second set. The decision was also made to keep the Lord s words at the consecration exactly the same in every Eucharistic Prayer, although there is precedent for more variety. On November 2, 1968, Pope Paul VI signed off on the plan of the new Mass, and by April 1969, the publication of the revised order of Mass was announced. Rev. James Field, Copyright J. S. Paluch Co. Bethlehem Arts This weekend in our church representatives of the Catholic Christians Community from Jerusalem and Bethlehem in the Holy Land will display their olive wood hand crafted religious igurines and articles. Due to the political con lict the Catholic Christian Community in the Holy Land depends mainly on olive wood carving and selling of these religious articles to keep the community inancially alive. These beautifully hand carved and crafted religious goods will be displayed in the vestibules of the church after each mass. W dniu dzisiejszym w przedsionku kościoła będą przedstawiciele katolickiej społeczności w Ziemi Świętej, tzw. Bethlehem Arts, którzy będą oferowali sprzedaż ręcznie wykonanych igurek i artykułów z drzewa oliwnego. Dochód ze sprzedaży tych dzieł sztuki i przedmiotów religijnych pomoże chrześcijanom w Ziemi Świętej przetrwać i zachować swoją religijną społeczność w czasie istniejącego tam kon liktu.

3 Dear Parishioners, Thank you for your continued support of the To Teach Who Christ Is campaign. As you know, these funds were designated for repairing the heating and cooling system in the rectory. While I would like to complete this project, the circumstances at the Parish have changed since the loss of the school lease and I would like to ask for your support in reallocating this money to better serve our current circumstances. I propose to do this by using the money to recon igure our heating and cooling system in the convent and school in order to be able to manage the temperature and realize savings on heating. In addition, instead of make the major repairs to the rectory, we will manage costs by investing in less expensive modular heating and cooling units. I would like to use any remaining money to allow for repairs that may be needed in the future. To date, the parish has received $62,000 from the campaign. Thank you to all of those who have continued to honor their pledges. I know these have been uncertain times and I want to personally thank you for your dedication to the parish. I am committed to working with you through these dif icult times so that we can focus on revitalizing the Parish. W międzyczasie możliwości budżetowe naszej para ii zmieniły się poważnie ze względu na to, że szkoła publiczna zrezygnowała z wynajmu naszych budynków szkolnych. W związku z powyższym nosimy się z zamiarem przeznaczenia części tych pieniędzy na ogrzewanie i ochładzanie pozostałych budynków naszej para ii, aby w ten sposób zabezpieczyć je przed niszczeniem. Pozostałe pieniądze w przyszłości zostaną użyte na konieczne remonty. Twenty-fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time Page Three "Family Fest 2017" Our "FAMILY FEST 2017" will be held on Sunday, October 8th. The day will begin with a 12:30 pm bilingual Mass followed by an afternoon of fun and enjoyment for the entire family. For the adults enjoyment, Siekawica Band will be performing starting at 2:00 pm. Food and refreshments will be available. Donation is $5.00 per person, with children under 12 admitted free. In connection with "FAMILY FEST", the Parish Super Raf le is being held, with the winners being selected at the "FAMILY FEST". GRAND PRIZE $1000; 1st Prize - $700; 2nd Prize - $500; 3rd thru 5th Prize - $100. Raf le tickets are available at $10.00 per ticket. Those who buy 5 tickets will receive 3 free tickets; those who buy 10 will receive 6 free tickets, and so on.
