2 From the Pastors Desk The Revised Translation of the Mass (Part III)... What is the significance of the changes to the Nicene Creed? Some of the most significant changes to the people's parts in the Order of Mass are found in the Profession of Faith (the Nicene Creed). Changes to this text fall into two categories: preservation of the syntax of the original text and preservation of expressions of faith which contain Catholic doctrine. The first change is the translation of Credo as of "I" instead of "We" in the opening phrase in order to maintain the person and number indicated in the Latin text. While the profession of faith is a communal liturgical act, each individual in the liturgical assembly professes his or her own faith which is joined to the profession of the whole assembly. The second change concerns the translation of particular expressions of faith such as Unigenitus, consubstantialis, and incarnatus. The theological terminology has been preserved, in accord with Liturgiam Authenticam, in the translation to English: "Only Begotten," "consubstantial," and "incarnate." "And with your spirit"? One of the more noticeable changes in the people's parts of the Mass is the response to the greeting, "The Lord be with you." The Latin response, et cum spiritu tuo, is rendered literally in English, "and with your spirit." Liturgiam Authenticam calls for the faithful rendering of expressions that belong to the heritage of the ancient Church, and cites et cum spiritu tuo as an example. Most modern languages have translated this phrase literally, so the English text now more closely parallels other vernacular translations. Fr. Życie zamieni się w piekło. Boskie Prawo pomaga doskonalić serce człowieka i normować w duchu pokoju życie w społeczności. Im więcej szacunku dla tego Prawa, tym więcej dobra w sercach ludzi i we wspólnotach, jakie oni tworzą.. Jedyna droga prawdziwego życia to droga dobrego poznania Bożego Prawa i możliwie doskonałego jego wypełnienia. Im wcześniej człowiek to zrozumie, tym prostsze staje się jego życie. Znika wówczas bunt wobec Prawa. Nie jest ono bowiem przeszkodą, lecz pomocą, nie zniewala, lecz otwiera perspektywę wolności. Ks. Antoni Jesus no vino para dar una nueva ley. Todos ensenan no mentir, no matar, no cometer adulterio o deshonrar al padre o la madre. En ese sentido se puede decir que todas las religiones son iguales. Todos sabemos esa ley porque Dios la ha escrito en el corazon humano (Rom 2:15). Jesus aplica la ley a la seriedad de guardar colera o lujuria, buscar el divorcio o tomar un juramiento no necesario. Al decir a sus seguidores evitar deseos vanos y enfocarse en hoy y no preocuparse sobre manana, Jesus es muy semejante al Buda.. El Buda trato de ensenar un camino a la paz. Igualmente Jesus muestra un camino, pero algo mucho mas importante: El es el camino. Jesus se da a si mismo. No puede ser otro: Jesus es la Segunda Persona de la Trinidad, engendrado eternamente del Padre. Como decimos en el Credo, es Dios de Dios, Luz de Luz, Dios Verdadero de Dios Verdadero. 4 Reflections from Fr. Emil... THE JOINT MISSION OF THE SON AND THE SPIRIT The One whom the Father has sent into our hearts, the Spirit of his Son, is truly God. Consubstantial with the Father and the Son, the Spirit is inseparable from them, in both the inner life of the Trinity and his gift of love for the world. In adoring the Holy Trinity, life-giving, consubstantial, and indivisible, the Church's faith also professes the distinction of persons. When the Father sends his Word, he always sends his Breath. In their joint mission, the Son and the Holy Spirit are distinct but inseparable. To be sure, it is Christ who is seen, the visible image of the invisible God, but it is the Spirit who reveals him. Jesus is Christ, anointed, because the Spirit is his anointing, and everything that occurs from the Incarnation on derives from this fullness. When Christ is finally glorified, he can in turn send the Spirit from his place with the Father to those who believe in him; he communicates to them his glory, that is, the Holy Spirit who glorifies him. From that time on, this joint mission will be manifested in the children adopted by the Father in the Body of his Son; the mission of the Spirit of adoption is to unite them to Christ and make them live in him. Fr. Emil WSPÓLNE POSŁANIE SYNA I DUCHA ŚWIĘTEGO Ten którego Ojciec posłał do naszych serc, Duch Jego Syna, jest rzeczywiście Bogiem. Współistotny Ojcu i Synowi, zarówno w wewnętrznym życiu Trójcy, jak i w Jej darze miłości dla świata, jest od nich nierozdzielny. Adorując jednak Trójcę Świętą, ożywiającą, współistotną i niepodzielną, wiara Kościoła wyznaje także odrębność Osób. Gdy Ojciec posyła swoje Słowo, posyła zawsze swoje Tchnienie; jest to wspólne posłanie, w którym Syn i Duch Święty są odrębni ale nierozdzielni. Oczywiście, Chrystus jest tym, który ukazuje się, On Obraz widzialny Boga niewidzialnego, ale objawia Go Duch Święty. Jezus jest Chrystusem namaszczonym, ponieważ Duch Święty jest Jego namaszczeniem i wszystko, co dokonuje się od chwili Wcielenia, wypływa z tej pełni. Pero al adorar a la Santissima Trinidad vivificante, consubstancial e individible, la fe de la Iglesia profesa tambien la distincion de las Personas. Cuando el Padre envia su Verbo, envia tambien su Aliento; mision conjunta en la que el Hijo y el Espiritu Santo son distintos pero inseparables. Sin ninguna duda, Cristo es quien se manifiesta, Imagen visible de Dios invisible, pero es el Espiritu Santo quien lo revela. Jesus es Christo, ungido, porque el Espiritu es su Uncion y todo lo que sucede a partir de la Encarnacion mana de esta plenitud. Cuando por fin Cristo es glorificado, puede a su vez, de junto al Padre, enviar el Espiritu a los que creen en el; El es comunica su Gloria, es decir, el Espiritu Santo que lo glorifica. La mision conjunta se desplegara desde entonces en los hijos adoptados por el Padre en el Cuerpo de`su Hijo; la mision del Espiritu de adopcion sera unirlos a Cristo y hacerles vivir el El. 5 School news During Catholic School s Week, our PreK-4 students enjoyed interacting with their 4 th and 8 th grade buddies. The three classes came together to share snack, read, and play a variety of table/floor games. The upper grades reinforced their knowledge in several subject areas as they guided and supported our PreK-4 student s curiosity for learning. At St. Bruno, our students are taught to become proactive participants in caring for others, in helping the needy and in proclaiming their faith through meaningful acts of lover. W czasie tego tygodnia Katolickich Szkół, nasza Szkoła była aktywna szczególnie w czwartych i ósmych klasach. Trzy klasy zebrały się razem, aby dzielić się czytaniami, różnymi przedstawieniami i grami na podłodze. Klasy wyższe nadawały ton w różnych akcjach i w róznych tematach pomagając klasom niższym w edukacji szkolnej. W Szkole św. Brunona nasi studenci zostali pouczeni, aby byli praktycznymi i gotowymi pomagać innym a przede wszystkim aby pomagali zdobywać wiarę przez akty miłości. Durante la Semana de Escuelas Católicas, nuestros estudiantes de Pre-K-4 disfrutaron de la interacción con sus compañeros de 4to y 8vo grados. Las tres clases se reunieron para compartir merienda, leer y jugar una gran variedad de juegos de mesa/piso. Los grados superiores reforzaron sus conocimientos en varias áreas temáticas mientras guiaron y apoyaron a nuestros estudiantes de PreK-4 en su curiosidad por aprender. En San Bruno, a nuestros estudiantes se les enseña a ser participantes proactivos en cuidar de los demás, a ayudar a los más necesitados y a proclamar su fe a través de actos de amor.
