3 From the Pastors Desk St. Theresa of Avila wrote, "Thirst expresses the desire for something, but a desire so intense that we would die if we lacked it.". Our problem is that we think something in this world will satisfy our thirst. It will not.** The woman in today's Gospel had five husbands. None of them filled her longing. None of them could.. No person, place, thing or combination of circumstances can satisfy man's inner longing. The reason is this: Our thirst comes not from ourselves, but because Someone thirsts for us. One of the early Christian preachers, Gregory of Nazianzus, exclaimed, "God thirsts for the one who thirsts for Him!". It is hard for people today to imagine God thirsting for us. In Jesus we see how much God thirsts for souls. In the Creed we say, "For us men and for our salvation, he came down from heaven.". As we enter into these more intense weeks of Lent, we recognize a longing in our hearts - a thirst that has its source in God's thirst for us. Fr. Dziwne są niekiedy drogi nawrócenia. Ważne, byśmy naszą mądrością, wyższością, raptownymi sądami i przekonaniem, że wszystko wiemy i na wszystkim się znamy, nie stawiali nikogo na straconej pozycji. Jezus przy studni czeka na każdego. Każdego potrzebuje. I wszystkim pragnie dać wody żywej. Ks. Antoni Santa Teresa de Avila escribio, "La sed expresa el deseo de una cosas, pero un deseo tan intenso que morimos si carecemos de El.". Nuestro problema es que pensamos que algo en este mundo satisfaceria nuestra sed. Imposible. La mujer en el evangelio tenia cinco esposos. Ningun de ellos habia satisfecho su anhelo. Ningun puede.. Nuestra sed no viene de nosotros sino porque Alguien tiene sed de nosotros. San Gregorio Nacianceno exclamo, "Dios tiene sed del que tenga sed de El!" En Jesus sabemos que Dios tiene sed de almas. En el Credo decimos, "por nosotros, los hombres, y por nuestra salvación, bajó del cielo.". Al entrar en estas semanas intensivas de la Cuaresma, reconocemos un anhelo en nuestros corazones - una sed que tiene su origen en la sed de Dios por nosotros. Padre Antonio

Emil GOD'S SPIRIT AND WORD IN THE TIME OF THE PROMISES From the beginning until the fullness of time, the joint mission of the Father's Word and Spirit remains hidden, but it is at work. God's Spirit prepares for the time of the Messiah. Neither is fully revealed but both are already promised, to be watched for and welcomed at their manifestation. So, far this reason, when the Church reads the Old Testament, she searches there for what the Spirit, who has spoken through the prophets, wants to tell us about Christ. By prophets the faith of the Church here understands all whom the Holy Spirit inspired in the composition of the sacred books, both of the Old and the New Testament. Jewish tradition distinguishes first the Law [the five first books or Pentateuch], then the Prophets our historical and prophetic books and finally the Writings especially the wisdom literature, in particular the Psalms. Duch Boży przygotowuje czas Mesjasza i chociaż ani Duch, ani Słowo nie są jeszcze w pełni objawieni, są już obiecani, aby ich oczekiwano i przyjęto, gdy się objawią. Dlatego gdy Kościół czyta Stary Testament, zgłębia w nim to, co Duch Święty, który mówił przez proroków, chce nam powiedzieć o Chrystusie. Proroków, księgi nazwane w tradycji chrześcijańskiej historycznymi i prorockimi, oraz Pisma przede wszystkim księgi mądrościowe, a szczególnie Psalmy. Ks. 5 SCHOOL NEWS. Recently the First Graders read the story If You Give a Pig a Pancake. After reading and discussing the story they participated in one of their favorite activities cooking. The children read a recipe for blueberry pancakes. Then, they measured, combined the ingredients and mixed them. Eggshells, flour, sugar, salt, and milk were everywhere. After a quick cleanup, the pancakes were fried. Last, and best of all, the class enjoyed eating the fruits of their labor. The First Grade students all agreed they were GREAT cooks. Ms. Diane (1st Grade teacher) Ostatnio uczniowie klas pierwszych czytały historię pt."jeśli dasz prosiaczkowi naleśniki". Po przeczytaniu tej książki i wielkiej dyskusji, zaczęła się wielka akcja gotowanie. Dzieci czytały przepisy na naleśniki z jagodami. Zaczęła się akcja mierzenia, kombinowania i mieszania. Jajka, mąka, cukier, mleko były wszędzie. Po szybkim sprzątaniu, zaczęło się pieczenie. Na koocu, cała klasa mogła smakowad wypieki jako owoc ich pracy. Wszyscy uznali, że są naprawdę Wielkimi kucharzami. Pani Diane Nauczycielka klasy pierwszej Recientemente, el Primer Grado leio el cuento Si le Das un Panqueque a Una Cerdita. Después de leer y discutir el cuento, participaron en una de sus actividades favoritas - cocinar. Los niños leyeron una recta tata de panqueques de Arándanos. Luego, midieron, combinaron los ingredientes y los mezclaron. Cáscaras de huevo, harina, azúcar, sal y la leche estaban por todas partes. Después de una limpieza rápida, los panqueques se fríeron.
