His first stop will be the grade school where after having been greeted by the staff he will be ushered out to Nazareth Park to be serenaded by the schoolchildren singing życzymy życzymy! Then the Cardinal will proceed to visit the staff of Central Catholic and likewise be greeted by the honor guard of students. Traveling through the honor guard the Cardinal will finally approach the steps of the Shrine Church where he will address the students, bless them as well as a plaque commemorating the visit of his former boss, now St. John Paul, back in 1969. LUNCHEON AT THE POLISH-AMERICAN CULTURAL CENTER: From 1PM til 3PM the Cardinal will be welcomed to the Centrum on the corner of Lansing and East 65th where he will greet contributors to his initiative, the Be not afraid John Paul II Center in Krakow. For ticket information call the parish office at 216-341-9091. MASS FOR CLEVELAND POLONIA: At 6PM the Cardinal will celebrate Mass at the Shrine Church of St. Stanislaus. During the Mass he will dedicate the new shrine to Divine Mercy (scheduled completion, April of 2015) as well as bestow upon the parish yet another gift: a first class relic of St. John Paul II (a part of the garment soaked in his blood during the assassination attempt in 1981). The relic will be available for veneration by the faithful immediately following the Mass. FOUR EAGLES AWARD DINNER: Immediately following the Mass (although Social Center doors will open at 6:30 PM for those not attending the Mass) the annual banquet honoring this year s recipient, Cardinal Dziwisz, will begin. Tickets are still available ($75 per person). Please call the rectory for reservations. The banquet includes a great table of appetizers and potables as well as first class entrees and desserts. The best deal in town for that price beyond ANY DOUBT! DEPARTURE: The neighborhood roosters will awaken the Cardinal bright and early in order to allow him a private breakfast in order to provide sufficient time to be at the airport for his flight out East at 7:30 AM. We will be voting at all Masses this weekend, May 10 & 11, and electing two of these candidates to three-year terms. Three additional oneyear positions will be filled by appointment. Registered parishioners at least 14 years of age are eligible to vote. CUPCAKE SUNDAY CREW Well, the prune Danish never made it here from Parma, but our Hospitality Crew made up for it with their wondrously artistic cupcakes!!! What a great assortment of those tasty morsels!! Thanks goes out to everyone who helped put together this lovely event as well as to all those who left behind donations to help defray the costs. Help We will need the help of anyone and everyone to set up (May 13 & 14) and dismantle (May 16) for this years Four Eagle event. Dobry Pasterz daje nam pokarm Wielu turystów odwiedzających Stany Zjednoczone chce dotrzeć do San Francisco i zobaczyć oraz przejechać olbrzymi most zwany Złotą Bramą (obraz). Złota Brama łączy ze sobą dwa wybrzeża, skraca drogę i jest ciekawym obiektem budowlanym. Bramy odgrywają ważną rolę w naszym życiu. Od nich zależy bezpieczeństwo ludzi i zwierząt. Jeśli mieszkacie w jednorodzinnych domach brama ogrodzenia (obraz) prowadzi do drzwi naszego domu. Na ogół bywa ona zbudowana z trwałego materiału, posiada silne zamki. Chroni nas przed złodziejami, czy niebezpiecznymi ludźmi. Podobną rolę odgrywają bramy w zabudowaniach gospodarczych dla krów, koni, czy owiec. Może widziałyście gospodarstwa w górach (obraz), gdzie dla owiec górale budują mocne ogrodzenia, do których prowadzi solidna brama. Tylko przez nią pasterze prowadzą owce i pilnują tego wejścia, by nie wchodził przez nie drapieżny zwierz. W zabudowaniu owce dostają od pasterzy smaczny pokarm. Pasterze także czuwają nad bezpieczeństwem owiec. Pan Jezus (obraz) często opowiada nam przykłady wzięte z życia Jego narodu. Izraelici utrzymywali się z rolnictwa, uprawy winogron, łowienia ryb i oliwek oraz z hodowli owiec (obraz). Dzisiaj Pan Jezus bierze przykład z życia pasterzy. Może sam także w Nazarecie obok stolarskiej pracy hodował owce? Znał dobrze więź pasterza z owcami (obraz), czytał Stary Testament, gdzie prorocy przemawiali do Narodu wybranego opierając swoje nauki na przykładzie dobrych i złych pasterzy oraz ich troski o owce. Pan Jezus często nazywa się Dobrym Pasterzem (obraz) zatroskanym o owce. Owcami my jesteśmy. W dzisiejszym opowiadaniu nazywa się także bramą owczarni (napis). Zaznacza, że chcąc być przyjacielem Pana Jezusa trzeba przejść przez Niego czyli przez bramę Jego owczarni. Wtedy każdy będzie czuł się bezpieczny, szedł za głosem Jezusa i otrzyma dobre jedzenie. To opowiadanie zapowiada wielkie wydarzenie: Pan Jezus zakłada Kościół, który nazywamy Jego owczarnią (napis). W tym Kościele jest Pasterzem. Wchodzimy do owczarni Pana Jezusa przez bramę, w sakramencie chrztu św. (obraz). Wtedy otrzymujemy następujące dary: stajemy się owcami Jezusa, czyli Bożymi dziećmi i otrzymujemy dar wiary, przez który Pan Jezus jest naszym Pasterzem. Pan Jezus zapewnia nam bezpieczeństwo. Idziemy za Jego głosem, który słyszymy na katechezie (obraz) oraz podczas Mszy świętej (obraz). Jezus odpuszcza nam grzechy w spowiedzi (obraz), abyśmy czuli się bezpieczni. Otrzymujemy także od Jezusa podwójny pokarm: Słowo Boże Pismo Święte (obraz) oraz Komunię świętą (obraz). Te wszystkie dary pozwalają nam być posłusznymi owcami i przyjaciółmi Pana Jezusa. Od chrztu świętego (obraz) należymy do owczarni Jezusa. Pan Jezus zatroskany o nas jako Dobry Pasterz (obraz) daje nam różne prezenty, dzięki którym możemy stawać się Jego braćmi i siostrami. Od przyjęcia tych darów i naszej współpracy z nimi zależy, czy będziemy posłusznymi owcami. Pomyślę: Jak słucham głosu Pana Jezusa, który mówi do mnie przez rodziców, nauczycieli, katechetów i księży? Jak korzystam z pokarmu Jezusa, którym jest Słowo Boże na katechezie i mszy św.? Jak dbam o swoje bezpieczeństwo przez korzystanie ze spowiedzi? Jak często się spowiadam? Jak często korzystam z pokarmu jedzenia jakie daje mi Pan Jezus a jest nim On sam w Komunii św.? Kiedy przyjmuję Komunię św. jestem na ziemi w niebie. Mam Pana Jezusa na własność.
