Jadwigi. From the Pastor s Desk Dear parishioners and friends of Saint Hedwig s Church. I would like to share some good news with everyone. A few weeks ago I wrote that I am looking for sponsors in regards to the purchase of the processional cross and the purchase of the new pulpit from which the lectors will read on Sunday and the bible on the holidays. Both projects have been sponsored. I will give details about them in the next parish bulletin. Now we work on the project of the purchase of the new censer with the stand and equipment. This liturgical set will use incense during the exposition of the Most Holy Sacrament, for solemn Masses, procession, as well as during funerals. The price of the entire set is approximately $950. I will be thankful for the aid of purchase or sponsorship for the censer together with the equipment. Some new information about the church s sign. Two years ago during the installation of the monument of Father Pio we removed the board with the name of our church and a schedule of the Mass. There was no other choice. We wanted, so that the garden of Padre Pio be made in according to the beauty and splendor of great Italian Saint. Today we are working on a project of a new board with the name of the church. I am sure that the new church s sign will be practical and will also be a good decoration for our church. The cost will be approximately $3500. We would like to gather the necessary funds for this project during sales of the Easter-cake on Palm Sunday. Please remember that on April 9, Palm Sunday, buying the Easter-cake will support the new project of creating a new sign for the church. I would like to thank you and keep all of you in my prayer. Ivan Toro of St. Hedwig Church, enrolled in the Diaconate program at The Seminary of Immaculate Conception, will be instituted as a

Lector on Saturday, April 1. We ask you for your prayers for Ivan. Cake Selling / Sprzedaż Ciasta W Niedzielę Palmową, 9 kwietnia, po każdej Mszy Św. odbędzie się sprzedaż ciasta i innych produktów na stół Wielkanocny. Dochód przeznaczony będzie na tablicę informacyjną przed kościołem. On Palm Sunday, April 9 th, after every Mass There will be a cake sale. The monies collected will support the new church sign which will be located in the front of our church. ST. St. Hedwig"s Faith Formation Program The goal of participation in this program is to prepare oneself, as practicing Catholics, to receive the sacraments. Being Catholic is a lifelong endeavor and involves much more than receiving a select number of sacraments. It is a process that continues through one s life and ideally should reflect in one s daily life. Please come and join us Our class program is held on Thursday: Grades 1-5 from 5:00pm to 6:00pm Grades 6-8 from 6:15pm to 7:30pm Anniversary of death of St. John Paul II This Sunday is 12 th anniversary of death of St. John Paul II. His picture is in sanctuary of our church, but more important is to have the picture of his teachings in our hearts. Let us remind what Pope Benedict said about St.JPII: It is true! John Paul II succeeded in communicating a strong charge of hope founded on faith in Jesus Christ, who "is the same yesterday and today and forever" (Heb 13: 8). As an affectionate father he pointed out firm and reliable reference points, indispensable to all and especially to the young. And in the hour of his agony and his death, this new generation wished to show him that it had understood his teaching, gathering silently in prayer in St Peter's Square and in so many other places in the world. The young people felt his death would be a loss: it was "their" Pope, whom they saw as "their father" in the faith who had died. At the same time they were aware that as a legacy he had bequeathed to them his courage and the consistency of his witness. Had he not stressed many a time the need for radical adherence to the Gospel, urging adults and young people to take this common educational responsibility seriously? I too, as you know, have wished to take up his concern, pausing on various occasions to speak of the educational emergency that today concerns families, the Church, society and especially the new generations. While they are growing up, the young need adults who can suggest principles and values to them. They feel in need of people who can teach by their example, more than by their words, to expend themselves for high ideals. Chrystus przynosi nam nadzieję zmartwychwstania i życia. W piątą niedzielę Wielkiego Postu gromadzimy się, by rozważać śmierć, którą sprowadza grzech, ale także, by rozważać życie, które daje nam pokuta i pełne nadziei zaufanie Chrystusowi. On przyszedł, by ludziom dać nadzieję życia wiecznego.
