2 The Augustinian Mission Appeal Fr. Lizardo Estrada Herrera, O.S.A. P. Lizardo Estrada Herrera, born September 23, 1973, in Cotabambas, Apurimac - Peru. He studied in Peru, Italy and Colombia. On August 7, 2005, he was ordained as a religious priest of the Order of St. Augustine. Most of these priests have lent their service in the Andes of southern Peru between Cusco and Apurimac. Since 2018, they have served in Trujillo in northern Peru. The Augustinian Missions of Northern Peru Pope Francis has called for a renewed commitment within the Church to missionary work in developing countries. Where does Jesus send us? he asked pilgrims at his first World Youth Day. There are no borders, no limits: He sends us to everyone. For over 50 years, the friars of the Midwest Augustinian Province have been sent as missionaries and stewards to the faithful and needy in Northern Peru. Recognizing that the call to service pushes us beyond our borders, the Midwest Augustinians accepted the invitation from Pope John XXIII to rebuild the Church in the impoverished regions of Peru in Today, we serve over 600,000 people daily, spanning from the desert area of the Pacific Coast to the rugged terrains of the Andes Mountains. Thanks to the charitable gifts we receive from parishioners in the United States, we are able to ordain native clergy, who staff parishes, teach in religious educational institutions, and promote social justice projects. We are also in the midst of constructing the campus of St. Augustine High School in Trujillo, which will provide a much-needed source of revenue in years to come. We have also begun programs to prevent and treat diseases, provide clean water to the poorest of the poor in the desert, and promote women s rights and equality. Thank you for including the Augustinians in your parish s missionary appeal this year. El 7 de agosto del 2005, fue ordenado sacerdote religioso de la Orden de San Agustín. La mayoría de estos sacerdotes han prestado su servicio en los Andes del sur de Perú entre Cusco y Apurimac. Desde el 2018, ha servido en Trujillo en el norte de Perú. Las Misiones Agustinas del Norte del Perú. El Papa Francisco ha pedido un compromiso renovado dentro de la Iglesia para el trabajo misionero en los países en desarrollo. " A dónde nos envía Jesús?", Preguntó a los peregrinos en su primera Jornada Mundial de la Juventud. "No hay fronteras, no hay límites: Él nos envía a todos". Durante más de 50 años, los frailes de la Provincia Agustiniana del Medio Oeste han sido enviados como misioneros y administradores a los fieles y necesitados en el norte de Perú. Reconociendo que el llamado al servicio nos empuja más allá de nuestras fronteras, los agustinos del Medio Oeste aceptaron la invitación del Papa Juan XXIII para reconstruir la Iglesia en las regiones empobrecidas de Perú en Hoy, servimos a más de 600,000 personas diariamente, que se extienden desde el área desértica de La costa del Pacífico hasta los terrenos escarpados de la cordillera de los Andes. Gdzie nas posyła Jezus?, Zapytał pielgrzymów podczas swojego pierwszego Światowego Dnia Młodzieży. Nie ma granic, nie ma granic: wysyła nas do wszystkich. Przez ponad 50 lat bracia z prowincji augustianów ze Środkowego Zachodu zostali wysłani jako misjonarze i szafarze do wiernych i potrzebujących w północnym Peru. Uznając, że wezwanie do służby popycha nas poza nasze granice, augustianie z Środkowego Zachodu przyjęli zaproszenie papieża Jana XXIII do odbudowy Kościoła w zubożałych regionach Peru w 1962 roku. Dzięki darom charytatywnym, które otrzymujemy od parafian w Stanach Zjednoczonych, jesteśmy w stanie wyświęcać rodzime duchowieństwo, które obsługuje parafie, nauczać w religii i promować projekty pomocy społecznej. Jesteśmy także w środku budowa kampusu St. Augustine High School w Trujillo, który w nadchodzących latach zapewni bardzo potrzebne źródło dochodów. Rozpoczęliśmy również programy mające na celu zapobieganie i leczenie chorób, zapewnienie czystej wody najbiedniejszym z biednych na pustyni oraz promowanie praw i równości kobiet.
