Zarazem zostaję w tym samym czasie wypisany z mojej diecezji w Polsce i przestaje być księdzem Diecezji Lubelskiej. Dear Parishioners and Friends of Saint Hedwig s Church. Today's Sunday is my opportunity to thank you all for the care for our church and for supporting me and priests in our community. In these days, the process of my incardination to the Diocese of Rockville Centre comes to an end. This means that I become a priest of this diocese and I change my status from visitor to the priest of the Diocese of Rockville Centre. From now on, my only diocese is the Diocese of Rockville Centre and I will report to the local bishop, John O. Barres. At the same time, I am no longer a priest of the Diocese of Lublin. Following my good news, I am inviting you all today for coffee and cake after every morning-mass. There will also be polish doughnuts. After 13 years of work in the Diocese of Rockville Centre and in the 6 years of my pastoral work at St. Hedwig, I am glad that I will be able to serve the people and the Church on Long Island. I also direct my gratitude to Bishop Stanislaw Budzik, the Bishop of the Archdiocese in Lublin, for his help and kindness. The diocese in Lublin will always be my first Church and a wonderful place where my roots are and my motherland is. Homily Helps In today s reading from Acts, Philip, who helped to resolve the food distribution dispute recounted last Sunday, evangelizes Samaria, a positive, Spirit-guided consequence of the persecution and dispersal that followed Stephen s martyrdom. In other words, far from destroying the young church, persecutions expanded the community both geographically and demographically. In Philip s mission and ministry, Acts illustrates the diversification of ministries as the church expanded. In the follow-up visit of Peter and John, we see the simultaneous determination to maintain the visible bond of communion with the apostolic leadership in Jerusalem. The apostles laying-on of hands, imparting the gift of the Spirit, evokes our own bishops parish Confirmation visits. Acts last Sunday and today reminds us that neither turmoil within nor attacks from without should discourage us as we live out our baptismal commitment in the very human community of the Church. St. Hedwig"s Faith Formation Program The goal of participation in this program is to prepare oneself, as practicing Catholics, to receive the sacraments. Being Catholic is a lifelong endeavor and involves much more than receiving a select number of sacraments. It is a process that continues through one s life and ideally should reflect in one s daily life. Please come and join us. Wniebowstąpienie Pańskie to chrześcijańskie święto upamiętniające wstąpienie do nieba zmartwychwstałego Jezusa Chrystusa w 40 dniu od zmartwychwstania. Po swoim zmartwychwstaniu Jezus przebywał wśród uczniów, po czym Apostołowie udali się na Górę Oliwną, gdzie w ich obecności Jezus uniósł się w górę i zniknął. Wiele o tajemnicy Wniebowstąpienia mówią następujące słowa św. Leona I Wielkiego: "Po błogosławionym zmartwychwstaniu Pana naszego Jezusa Chrystusa, którego wskrzesiła moc Boża dnia trzeciego jako świątynię rozwaloną, dzisiaj najmilsi, upływa dzień czterdziesty, przeznaczony najświętszym wyrokiem dla naszego pouczenia, aby widokiem zmartwychwstałego ciała umocniła się wiara nasza... Zaiste wielka i nieopisana była przyczyna szczęścia Apostołów, kiedy widzieli, jak na oczach tłumu wstępowała natura rodzaju ludzkiego ponad wszystkie stworzenia niebieskie, bijące godnością chóry aniołów, a nawet ponad zastępy archaniołów się wznosząc i dochodząc do granic Bóstwa - bowiem Syn Boży ją sobie poślubił. Dlatego wyniesienie Chrystusa jest równocześnie i naszym także wyniesieniem: co bowiem pochodzi z Głowy, spada i na ciało. Dzisiaj bowiem nie tylko zostaliśmy umocnieni w posiadaniu nieba, lecz wznieśliśmy się wyżej dzięki łasce Chrystusa, niż utraciliśmy przez zazdrość szatana. Jak bowiem zawzięty nieprzyjaciel zrzucił nas z posiadłości niebieskich, tak nas jako braci swoich syn Boży społem po prawicy Ojca umieszcza".
