2 TEACHING RESULTS AND THE METHODS OF ASSESSING TEACHING RESULTS Module target The aim of the module is to familiarise students with: environment functioning, the relationships between biotic and abiotic environment (particularly between the man and the environment); basic threats posed by man s economy; and the fundamentals of environmental management aiming at rational resource utilisation (which provides the development of present and future generations). Other aims of the module include the following: acquainting students with the issues of harmful effect of man s activity on the environment; acquiring knowledge on the structure and principle of operation as regards environment management systems (which are directed at limiting harmful effect of man s civilisational development on the environment and providing constant development of current and future generations; finally, the aim of the module is to utilise the acquired knowledge in technical and technological solutions which do not have a harmful effect on the environment.
