2 Module target The aim of the module is to teach students knowledge and skills useful in the decisionmaking process in a supply chain, which concerns shaping logistics processes. A student has basic knowledge as regards the organisation of carriage processes in transport, including those in particular branches of transport. A student also knows typical features of particular branches of transport and their development tendencies. A student has basic knowledge of supply and demand in the transport market in Poland, taking TSL services into particular consideration, rail transport as well as intermodal transport markets. A student knows simple methods and tools useful in solving basic issues concerning transport organisation in an enterprise make-or-buy decision, the choice of the carrier. A student also knows general principles of setting prices and costs in a transport enterprise influencing its financial situation. A student can do the following: utilise basic theoretical knowledge, obtain, understand, process and compare information from various sources, including statistical compilations and specialist texts concerning transport to analyse the selected areas of the cargo transport market in Poland. A student is able to analyse the selected problems concerning the organisation of cargo transport with the use of appropriate methods and mathematical models. A student can additionally formulate assessments as regards the causes and effects of the course of transport processes. A student can suggest transport solutions for the carriage of particular loads. A student has the skills of presenting issues concerning transport in a written and oral form using appropriate terminology. In addition, a student can prepare and give a multimedia presentation on a particular subject from the field of transport.
