St. Mary of Czestochowa Sunday Collection: April 5th, 2009 04/04 5:00PM $696.00 The Background of the Divine Mercy Devotion From the diary of a young Polish nun, Sister Faustina Kowalska, a special devotion began spreading throughout the world in the 1930s, The message is nothing new, but is a reminder of what the Church has always taught through scripture and tradition: that God is merciful and forgiving and that we, too, must show mercy and forgiveness. But in the Divine Mercy devotion, the message takes on a powerful new focus, calling people to a deeper understanding that God s love is unlimited and available to everyone especially the greatest sinners. The message and devotion to Jesus as Divine Mercy is based on the writing of Saint Faustina Kowalska, an uneducated Polish nun who, in obedience to her spiritual director, wrote a diary of about 600 pages recording the revelations she received about God s mercy. Even before her death in 1938, the devotion to the Divine Mercy had begun to spread. The message of mercy is that God loves us all of us no matter how great our sins. He wants us to recognize that His mercy is greater than our sins, so that we will call upon Him with trust, receive His mercy, and let it flow through us to others. Thus, all will come to share His joy. It is a message we can call to mind simple by remembering ABC. Ask for His Mercy. God wants us to approach Him in prayer constantly, repenting of our sins and asking Him to pour His mercy out upon us and upon the whole world. Be merciful. God wants us to receive His mercy and let if flow though us to others. He wants us to extend love and forgiveness to others just as He does to us. Completely trust in Jesus. God wants us to know that the graces of His mercy are dependent upon our trust. The more we trust in Jesus, the more we will receive. Concerning the Feast of Mercy Jesus said: Whoever approaches the Fountain of Life on this day will be granted complete forgives of sins and punishment. (Diary 300) I want the image solemnly blessed on the first Sunday after Easter, and I want it to be venerated publicly so that every soul may know about it. (Diary 341) This Feast emerged from the very depths of My mercy, and it is confirmed in the vast depths of my tender mercies. St. Mary s Parish News April 19, 2009 Holy Week Many busy hands helped to beautify our church and sanctuary during Holy Week for the celebration of the great feast of the Resurrection of Our Lord! Andy Gancarczyk our maintenance person, and his crew cleaned the church and changed the burnt out light bulbs and helped to set up the Repository for Holy Thursday. Father Waldemar, a group of Hispanic men set up the Tomb. Mary Warchol and Cecilia Kandal ordered the flowers and decorated the altars. Fr. Dariusz hung the Easter banners and carried all of the flowers from the sacristy to the sanctuary so that they could be arranged on our altars.. Our altar servers, choir director, Mr. Witold Socha and the parish choirs performed so beautifully!! Our pastor, Fr. Radek and our associate priests, Fr. Pienkos, Fr. Waldemar and Fr. Dariusz did a great job as they planned and prayerfully concelebrated the services during Holy Week! Thanks to all who gave of their time and talents to make Holy Week very special for our faith community!

Tradycyjnie już straż przy grobie pańskim w Wielki Piątek trzymali górale w strojach ludowych. Bardzo serdecznie dziękujemy za ich poświęcenie oraz wysiłek. Jednocześnie gorąco zapraszamy do uczestnictwa we wszystkich uroczystościach, które odbywają się w naszym kościele. Kurs przed Chrztem dziecka Przypominamy, że w każdą trzecią niedzielę miesiąca w naszej parafii po Mszy św. o godz. 10.30 odbywa się kurs przygotowujący rodziców i chrzestnych do chrztu dziecka. Osoby zamierzające ochrzcić dziecko w naszej parafii są proszone o zgłoszenie się na ten kurs prze chrztem dziecka. Dlatego należy pamiętać, aby: zgłosić się do kancelarii parafialnej przynajmniej półtora miesiąca prze chrztem. (Aby uczestniczyć w kursie przygotowującym) Przy zapisaniu chrztu jest wymagany akt urodzenia dziecka. W każdą niedzielę o godzinie 10:00AM ma miejsce lektura Listów św. Pawła Apostoła w naszym kościele. Parafia Matki Bożej Częstochowskiej Czuwanie nocne W najbliższą sobotę, 25 kwietnia odbędzie się jak co miesiąc czuwanie nocne w naszym kościele Matki Bożej Częstochowskiej. Rozpoczęcie czuwania o godz. 7:00 p.m. W programie czuwania m.in. nabożeństwo Drogi Krzyżowej, Różaniec oraz Msza św. Podczas czuwania będzie możliwość skorzystania z sakramentu pokuty. Prasa Katolicka Tak jak w każdą niedzielę tak również i dzisiaj wychodząc z kościoła można nabyć nowy numer Tygodnika Katolickiego Niedziela. Znajdziemy tam bardzo ciekawe artykuły na temat życia kościoła w Polsce także naszej Archidiecezji.
