(773) 767-1471 Reflecting on God s Word We celebrate the feast of St. Francis of Assisi on the anniversary of his death, which occurred on October 4, 1226. Perhaps the most beloved of all saints, Francis is quoted as saying, Preach the gospel at all times. When necessary, use words. Signs of faith were evident throughout his life. Faith empowered him to give away his possessions, to embrace lepers, and to endure deep suffering. Faith gave him a joyful spirit and a love for all of creation. His faith drew others to Christ in the Franciscan order. And Francis received the ultimate sign of faith the stigmata. In today s scriptures we see many signs of faith that preach louder than words. Habakkuk shows his faith by his urgent plea to God. God tells him that the just one, because of his faith, shall live (Habakkuk 2:4). In the second reading we hear that faith shows forth in love, self-control, and the strength to bear hardship. In the Gospel Jesus tells the disciples that faith can work miracles, but the most reliable sign of faith is a life lived in steadfast service to the Lord. "FAMILY FEST 2013" Our Pastor Father Waclaw and the entire committee invite all to our "FAMILY FEST 2013" being held on Sunday, October 13th. The day will begin with a 12:30 pm Polka Mass by Dennis Motyka and his Orchestra followed by an afternoon of fun and enjoyment for the entire family. There will be free games and surprises for the children. For the adults enjoyment, D Street Band will be performing starting at 2:00 pm. Food and refreshments will be available. Donation is $5.00 per person, with children under 12 admitted free. In connection with "FAMILY FEST", the Parish Super Raffle is being held, with the winners being selected at the "FAMILY FEST". Raffle tickets are available at $10.00 per ticket. Those who buy 5 tickets will receive 3 free tickets; those who buy 10 will receive 6 free tickets, and so on. Starting this weekend, and continuing until the FAMILY FEST", both the Super Raffle tickets and Family Fest tickets will be sold after all the Masses. Jak już wcześniej informowaliśmy, w niedzielę 13 października br. organizujemy w naszej parafii tzw. Family Fest czyli Rodzinny Festyn, którego celem jest wsparcie naszego parafialnego budżetu. Festyn rozpoczniemy tzw. Polka Mass w języku angielskim o godz. 12:30. Po niej przewidujemy poprzez całe popołudnie rozrywki i zabawy dla całej rodziny dorosłych, młodzieży i dzieci w obydwu naszych salach parafialnych. Dla dorosłych będzie przygrywać orkiestra D Street Band od godz. 2:00 PM. W tym czasie, w drugiej sali dzieci będą miały swoje gry, zabawy i niespodzianki prowadzone przez naszych katechetów. W czasie całego popołudnia będzie można nabyć ciepły posiłek lub poczęstunek i napoje. Jako wstęp przewidujemy donację 5 dolarów od osób dorosłych, natomiast dzieci poniżej lat 12tu będą miały wstęp wolny. Równocześnie wraz z tym Festynem przewidujemy parafialną loterię. Zapisani parafianie otrzymali pocztą bilety na loterię, w cenie po 10 dolarów. Przy zakupie 5ciu biletów dodatkowe 3 bilety są bezpłatne. Gdyby ktoś potrzebował więcej biletów lub nie jest zapisany w parafii i nie otrzymał ich pocztą, może już dziś u panów marszałków albo w tygodniu w kancelarii parafialnej nabyć wspomniane bilety: dla siebie, krewnych lub przyjaciół. Będzie to Wasza pomoc i praca dla dobra naszej parafii. U panów marszałków można również nabywać wspomniane wcześniej bilety wejściowe na Festyn. Zachęcamy wszystkich do poparcia naszego parafialnego Festynu przez zakupienie biletów i wzięcie udziału w loterii nawet w wypadku gdyby ktoś nie planował osobistego udziału w Festynie.
