(773) Reflecting on God s Word When we see the straight rows of crops growing tall and healthy at this time of year, we know that farmers plant very carefully to guarantee the highest yield. But that s not the way the farmer in today s parable plants. This farmer takes a big risk, it seems. Throwing seed around indiscriminately, some of it falls on the rocks, some on the road, some in the brambles, and, inevitably, some falls on good cultivated soil. Yet, even though many of the seeds die, this foolish farmer s crop yields a hundred times what was to be expected. This is how God sows the Word. Like the seed, the Word of God is to be scattered indiscriminately over the whole earth, without regard to where the good soil is that can receive and nurture it. Even though the Word does not take root everywhere, Isaiah tells us it shall not return to me void, but shall do my will, achieving the end for which I sent it. 3 Fifteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time Page Three DRUGA TACA W DNIU DZISIEJSZYM PRZEZNACZONA JEST NA POTRZEBY MISJI W dniu dzisiejszym jest wśród nas Siostra Teresa Wicińska ze Zgromadzenia Sióstr Albertynek. W czasie wszystkich Mszy św. będzie głosiła rozważania o pracy misyjnej tegoż zgromadzenia. Druga taca w dniu dzisiejszym jest przeznaczona na misje. Chorzy, cierpiący i ubodzy stanowią uprzywilejowaną cząstkę Kościoła. Kościół zawsze starał się pomagać duchowo i materialnie chorym, niepełnosprawnym i ubogim. Troska o nich jest naśladowaniem Chrystusa, który uzdrawiał i pomagał tym, którzy się źle mają. Misjonarze prowadzą szpitale, apteki, szkoły. Walczą z biedą, która sprzyja pojawianiu się różnych chorób. Być misjonarzem wymaga nie tylko odporności izycznej i psychicznej ale i zdolności organizacyjnych. Misionarz jest tym, do którego można się zwrócić w każdej potrzebie. Robią to co w ich mocy, resztę pozostawiając Panu Bogu. Ja i moje współsiostry pracujemy wśród bardzo biednych i niedożywionych dzieci, pomagamy matkom przy porodach, ludziom niepełnosprawnym. Często nie wiemy czy nam wystarczy pieniedzy do końca miesiąca by zakupić żywność, mleko i leki dla dzieci. Aby dojść do przychodni musimy wędrować nawet 3 dni. Jednym ze środków transportu są tratwy, których używamy do przeprawienia się przez jezioro. My misjonarki jesteśmy wdzięczne za każdą formę pomocy, która pozwoli nam prowadzić ośrodki pomocy dla nieszczęśliwych. Mimo, że nie możemy pomóc wszystkim, z Waszą pomocą będziemy mogły dotrzeć do większej ilości potrzebujących i biednych. 5 MISSION CO-OP COLLECTION The Albertine Sisters have been assigned by Archdiocesan of ice for Mission Education and Animation to our parish for the Mission Appeal Sister Teresa Wicinska will speak about their congregation and its missionary work during the homily at all Holy Masses. The sick, the suffering, and the poor make up a privileged part of the Church. The Church has always tried to help the sick, the disabled, and the poor both spiritually and materially. Caring for them is to imitate Christ who healed and helped those most in need. The missionaries provide hospitals, pharmacies, and schools, and struggle against poverty, which exposes the people to various diseases. To be a missionary demands not only physical and psychological stamina but also organizational talents. A missionary is a person whom someone can turn to in every need. The missionaries do what is within their power and leave the rest to God. My fellow sisters and I work among children who are very poor and undernourished. We help mothers during childbirth as well as disabled children, often not knowing if the food, milk, and medicine for the children will last till the end of the month. To reach the medical dispensary, we have to travel 3 days. One of our means of transport is by boats, which require adequate construction; otherwise, we would sink into the lake. We, missionaries, are grateful for every form of assistance we receive, which permits us to run these centers where we provide help for the less fortunate. Though we cannot save everyone, with your help we can serve as many as possible. We are grateful for your generosity and compassion. The Feast of St. Camillus In honor of our Parish s Patron, St. Camillus whose Feast Day will be on Friday, July 18th, his relic will be offered for veneration after all Sunday obligation Holy Masses next weekend, July 20th. May each one of us receive many special blessings from God through the intercession of our wonderful patron. Uroczystość św.
