Pastor`s Letter / List Księdza Proboszcza The truth, spoken of during today s celebration of the Transfiguration of Jesus, shows Jesus in His Divine activity, and is additionally confirmed by our Father himself. Even before the Paschal Events, Jesus Christ shows His glory to His most important witnesses, who will carry on His mission of salvation in Church: Peter, Jacob and John. At the same time Jesus sheds some light on understanding His salvation through the Cross, and indicates that the Cross itself expresses the will of God and shows His greatest love. The author of the gospel clearly means to say that God himself stands behind all of Christ s actions on this earth. The event takes place on a mountain, not unlike a cathedral, from which He announces his message understandable as there were no microphones during these times. In accordance with Jewish tradition, there are (two or) three witnesses here on earth, who are to confirm the accuracy of the message, as well as the irreplaceable presence of God himself, who confirms the Divine mission of Jesus, the Son of God. Apart from God in heaven, two wise men of the Old Testament, who have witnessed the saving intervention of God in the history of Israel (Moses, representing the Law of God and Elijah, representing the prophesies of the Old Testament), indicate that Jesus is the final executor of the Law and all prophesies. Now everything is focused on Jesus the Son of God and culminates in the salvation that is His cross. Apart from the theological message, the Transfiguration of Jesus Christ also shows us our Christ s contemplative stance as he prays, united with the will of God, asking God for strength from above to carry out His mission. Perhaps now would be a good time to ask whether we ourselves are in the habit of praying every day and striving to discover God s will concerning our own lives. Do we ask for strength from above to fulfill that will? We welcome back Father Jarek after his return from vacation. We also welcome his friend, Father dr Tadeusz Marcinkowski, who is a student in Rome and is currently staying with us during his vacation. We are happy that he will be praying with us and helping us carry out the Will of God. During the weekends Father Tadeusz will be delivering a special Mass during the first and second Saturday of the month, i.e. a mass in Polish with a special healing prayer. We invite all of you to join us for this remarkable event. More information has been posted on the second to last page of this newsletter. May God bless us all in the upcoming week, Father Ryszard Gron Prawda, o której mówi dzisiejsza uroczystość Przemienienia Pańskiego, pokazuje Jezusa w Jego Boskim działaniu, które dodatkowo potwierdza sam Ojciec. Jeszcze przed wydarzeniami paschalnymi, Chrystus ukazuje swoją chwałę najważniejszym świadkom Jego przyszłej misji zbawczej w Kościele: Piotrowi, Jakubowi i Janowi. Witamy ks. Ryszard Gron 2
