TEACHING RESULTS AND THE METHODS OF ASSESSING TEACHING RESULTS Module target The aim of the subject is to familiarise students with the functioning of the environment, relationship between animate and inanimate environment (particularly between the environment and a man, basic hazards which human economy poses for the environment as well as with the fundamentals of environmental management whose purpose is to use environmental resources in a rational manner, which guarantees the development of current and future generations). Other aims of the module include the following: acquiring knowledge which concerns natural environment as the place of living and human activity; familiarising students with the issue of harmful effect of human activity on the environment; acquiring knowledge on the construction and principle of operation as regards environmental management systems (which are directed at limiting a harmful impact of the civilizational development of a man on the environment and providing a continuous development of current and future generations); utilising the acquired knowledge in harmless technical and technological solutions. Effect symbol Teaching results Teaching methods (l/c/l/p/other) Reference to subject effects Reference to effects of a field of study W_0 A student knows basic issues as regards ecology and environmental management systems; a student has broadened knowledge of the Earth. A student is familiar with basic sources of information on ecology and environmental management systems. l/c A student knows basic principles as regards the functioning of population and whole ecosystems. l/c A student is knowledgeable about the sources of environmental pollution connected with living and economic activity of a man. l A student is knowledgeable about the phenomena resulting from economic activity of a man which are harmful as regards the life of a man and other populations. Moreover, a student knows the effects l of interacting of these phenomena on the environment. A student has fundamental knowledge on environmental management systems. In addition, a student knows the basics of the functioning as l regards a legal and organizational system (concerning environmental protection) in Poland. A student has fundamental knowledge on environmental protection means and instruments. l A student knows basic issues connected with environmental management in an enterprise. l A student can search sources of information on the issues connected with ecology, environmental protection, and environmental management, which is necessary in engineering activity. A student can independently acquire knowledge as regards ecology, environmental protection, and environmental management.
