St. Padre Pio pray for us The Parish of St. Francis Borgia and The St. Padre Pio Prayer Group are celebrating THE 13 TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE CANONIZATION OF ST. PADRE PIO DA PIETRELCINA SUNDAY, 28 JUNE 2015 Festivities begin with Mass at 3:30 p.m. at the St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church (8033 W. Addison St. Chicago), which will be followed by the traditional procession accompanied by the Banda Siciliana. To conclude the celebration an Italian Cuisine Buffet will be served in the Fr. Stokes Center (St. Francis Borgia s Parish Hall) immediately after the procession. From the Pastor s Desk... Today we begin our prayers for the Father s Day Novena and all of the masses will be offered for our fathers, both living and deceased for nine days. We want to assure you that we priests will remember your fathers and your families in our prayers and we wish all of you a Happy Father s Day. In Loving Memory of LAURENCE P. MULCRONE August 12, 1950 - June 12, 2015 God saw he was getting tired a cure was not to be, So He put His arms around him and whispered Come with me With tearful eyes we watched him suffer, and saw him fade away. Although we loved him dearly, we could not make him stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands to rest. God broke our hearts o prove to us, He only takes the best. We offer our deepest sympathy to Fr. Joe Mulcrone and His Family because of the loss of his brother Laurence Mulcrone. The St. Francis Borgia Religious Education Program is accepting registration for the 2015-2016 school year on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. in the RE Office, Schoolroom 101, or by appointment. The tuition is $250 for 1 child and $300 for 2 or more children per family plus a $50 registration fee per child which covers books and supplies. Classes meet weekly during the school year; Grades 1-5 meet on Saturday mornings from 9:00-10:30 a.m. and Grades 6-8 on Tuesday evenings from 7:00-8:30 p.m. The registration fee after August 1, 2015, will increase to $75 per child. Registration forms are available in the RE Office, Rectory and in the Church. The registration form/payment may be mailed, brought to the Religious Education or Rectory Office, or put in the Sunday Mass collection. First day of class and Parents Open House for Grades 6-8 will be Tuesday, September 8, from 7:00-8:30 p.m. and for Grades 1-5 on Saturday, September 12, from 9:00-10:30 a.m. New registrants must provide a Baptismal certificate at the time of registration. Please invite your neighbors and friends to enroll their children in our Religious Education Program. Historically before Hippocrates time, the doctor had a dual obligation that is to cure if they could and if they couldn t cure, to do people in with hemlock. And that dual obligation, when it came to Hippocrates and that point in Greek History, Hippocrates basically said this is not working, nobody will ever trust us if we have this dual responsibility. So we are going to dump that one part of our obligation that is the killing, and only cure. And under no circumstances do any kind of killing. And of course what is happening is gradually that s eroded and doctors are going back to the three pre-hippocratic practices that Hippocrates tried to stop, that is not having hemlock readily available to kill people, not aborting people, and not having sex with them. Unfortunately in current medicine there is aborting people, there is euthanasia, and having sex. And you now begin to realize why the practice of medicine and the medical profession is losing credibility.
