St. Joseph s Table Thanks to the Italian Catholic Federation for organizing and all who came and participated in the St. Joseph s Table on Saturday, March 12. Thanks to your donations, the Italian Catholic Federation has donated the total income of $1, toward the renovation of our Church. Announcement - Prayer Shawl Ministry Catholic Women s Club is in the process of starting a Prayer Shawl Ministry. How does it work? Parishioners or non - parishioners knit or crochet a prayer shawl to be given to anyone that requests it for a loved one, either homebound, in the hospital, serving our country, or just in need of comfort. There is no cost to the recipient. If you are interested in helping with this new ministry, please contact: Pauline Garrett at for more detailed information. Respect Life Our Easter Mission Have no fear. The outcome of the battle for life is already decided, even though the struggle goes on against great odds and with much suffering "Christ is now raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep... so in Christ all will come to life again" (1 Cor. 15:2022). The paradox of the Christian message is this: Christ - the head - has already conquered sin and death. Christ in his body - the pilgrim people of God continually suffers the onslaught of the Evil One and all the evil which sinful humanity is capable of. The liberating message of the Gospel of life has been put into your hands. And the mission of proclaiming it to the ends of the earth is now passing to your generation. Like the great apostle Paul, you too must feel the full urgency of the task: "Woe to me if I do not evangelize" (1 Cor. 9:16). Woe to you if you do not succeed in defending life. The Church needs your energies, your enthusiasm, your youthful ideals, in order to make the Gospel of life penetrate the fabric of society, transforming people's hearts and the structures of society in order to create a civilization of true justice and love. Come and get some yummy Girl Scout cookies! The Girls Scout of St. Francis Borgia will be hosting their annual cookie sale on Sunday, April 3rd after all morning Masses. 5 From the Pastor s Desk... A week before Easter a catechist asked a class of little children: What was the last thing Jesus had said before He died? A little boy raised his hand and answered: He said, I ll be back. I wish and pray that your family, under Christ s guidance, may rise from any difficulties and resurrect to live in deeper faith, unity and love. In the name of the Risen Lord, I would like to thank you for supporting the renovation of our Church in which He lives and continues His work of salvation. Tickets include dinner and drinks; there will be a raffle as well as music with the Exit Band. Tickets may be purchased at the rectory.
