4 From the Pastor s Desk... On behave of Fr. Paul and his Family I want to thank all those who attended his First Mass here at St. Francis Borgia last Sunday and those who helped us to prepare the beautiful Liturgy in Church and a very enjoyable reception in the Stokes Center. As we announced before Fr. Paul will start his ministry as Associate Pastor of St. Andrew Parish in Chicago. Last weekend, we celebrated the Feast of the Holy Trinity, which calls us to the love, holiness and unity, which unites the Three Persons of the Holy Trinity. Let us pray to the Holy Spirit for unity and peace in every family and in the world. To better understand the mystery of the Holy Trinity and its unification, we have to receive the Eucharist, which is the highest form of unity between man and God. Today, we celebrate this solemnity which honors the presence of Christ in the Eucharist. When we accept in faith the Body and Blood of Christ in the Eucharist we can than serve one another with love and mercy. I invite all of You to the multilingual Mass at 1:30 pm with the procession to four altars. Let us pray that the feast day is another manifestation of our faith in the True Presence of Christ in the Eucharist. On behave of the Italian Catholic Federation I invite all of You to the Padre Pio Mass with procession on Sunday, June 26th at 3:30 pm and for the reception after Mass in the Stokes Center. On June 19th, we will celebrate Father s Day and in our Church, we will have a nine - day Novena for all the Father s. Please enroll the names of your Fathers living or deceased in the Father s Day Novena by writing their names on the envelopes. We want to thank again all those who supported our Spring Carnival which brought over $ for the Renovation of our Church. On Monday, May 30th we will celebrate Memorial Day. Masses will be celebrated at the cemeteries at 10:30am, and schedule is printed in the bulletin. We will celebrate one Mass that day at 9:00 am in the Church. Happy Memorial Weekend. Rev. Respect Life Imagine a person who receives Communion, accepts the Host when the priest says, "The Body of Christ," says "Amen," and then breaks off a piece, hands it back, and says, "Except this piece, Father!" This is what the person who rejects other people may as well do. In receiving Christ, we are to receive the whole Christ, in all his members, our brothers and sisters, whether convenient or inconvenient, wanted or unwanted, born or unborn. As St. John remarks, Christ was to die "to gather into one all the scattered children of God." Sin scatters. Christ unites. The word "diabolical" means "to split asunder." Christ came "to destroy the works of the devil" (1Jn.3:8). The Eucharist builds up the human family in Christ who says, "Come to me, feed on My Body, become My Body." Abortion, in a reverse dynamic, says, "Go away! We have no room for you, no time for you, no desire for you, no responsibility for you. Get out of our way!" Abortion attacks the unity of the human family by splitting asunder the most fundamental relationship between any two persons: mother and child. The Eucharist, as a Sacrament of Unity, reverses the dynamic of abortion. ST. 9 Z Biurka Księdza Proboszcza... W imieniu Ks. Pawła i jego Rodziny dziękuję wszystkim, którzy uczestniczyli w jego Pierwszej Mszy Św. sprawowanej w naszej parafii w ubiegłą niedzielę. W sposób szczególny dziękuję wszystkim, którzy pomogli nam zorganizować tę uroczystość oraz przygotować przyjęcie w sali parafialnej. Jak już wspominaliśmy Ks. Paweł wyjeżdża teraz do Polski na Mszę Prymicyjną w swojej rodzinnej parafii a po powrocie rozpocznie pracę duszpasterską w Parafii Św. Andrzeja w Chicago. W ubiegłym tygodniu przeżywaliśmy Uroczystość Trójcy Przenajświętszej, która wzywa nas do takiej miłości i jedności, jaka łączy Trzy Osoby Trójcy Przenajświętszej. W zrozumieniu tej tajemnicy pomaga nam Eucharystia i częste przyjmowanie Komunii Świętej, która jest najwyższą formą zjednoczenia człowieka z Bogiem. Dzisiaj przypada Święto Bożego Ciała. W naszej Parafii będzie odprawiona uroczysta wielojęzyczna Msza Św. o godz. 1:30 po południu z procesją Eucharystyczną do czterech ołtarzy. Niech Święto Bożego Ciała będzie naszą kolejną manifestacją naszej wiary w prawdziwą obecność Chrystusa w Eucharystii. 19 czerwca będziemy również obchodzić Dzień Ojca. W naszym Kościele będzie odprawiana Nowenna w intencji wszystkich Ojców, wkrótce będzie można zabrać z Kościoła kopertki, na których będzie można wypisać imiona wszystkich Ojców, tych żyjących jak i tych zmarłych. Jeszcze raz dziękujemy wszystkim za pomoc i udział w naszym Wiosennym Karnawale, z którego dochód wyniósł ponad $ i został przeznaczony na renowację naszego Kościoła. Zapraszamy wszystkich chorych i niepełnosprawnych na zorganizowaną przez Archidiecezję Mszę Św. w naszej Parafii w najbliższą niedzielę, 5 czerwca o godz. 3:30 pm. W czasie Mszy Św. zostanie udzielony Sakrament Namaszczenia Chorych. W poniedziałek, 30 maja obchodzony jest w USA Memorial Day. Na cmentarzach będzie odprawiona Msza Św. o godz. 10:30 am, a w naszym Kościele będzie jedna Msza Św. w j. angielskim o godz. 9:00 am.
