One of the earliest, most poetic and beautiful descriptions comes from St. Augustine in De Trinitas, wherein he describes the Trinity as One (the Father) who loves, One (the Son) who is loved and One (the Spirit) who is love. And these three Ones are also one Three. It might be wisest for us to leave the technical wranglings to the academic theologians and focus on the fact that the three Persons of the Trinity are indeed person; they are best known and understood in their love for each other and for us. We are made in the image of those loving persons and our best relationships are lived out in the context of love. Truly loving relationships are inexhaustible mysteries to be lived in joy. If this is true of our human relationships, how much more so is it true of our relationship with the Trinity. And how much more does it call upon us to be joyful, loving witnesses of the holy mystery of the One-in-Three. This is the mystery to which we were called when we were chosen to be God s own, baptized with water in the name of the Holy Trinity. 3 Page 3 PARTNERS IN CHARITY We are most grateful to donations submitted to our Partners in Charity Appeal. At the present time we have collected $22,907, which is 92% of our goal. Next Sunday, June 7 will be the final in pew collection. Your gifts may be placed in envelopes in the pews. We would greatly appreciate any donation you could give toward this appeal so we may reach our goal of $25,000. Reminder: Corpus Christi Procession - Sunday, June 7th at 11:00am Mass followed by Eucharistic Procession to four altars concluding at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church Emmaus Center. We ask all parish organizations and ministries to plan to participate with their banners and emblems. MEETINGS Knights of Columbus will meet on Wednesday, June 3rd at 7:00pm in the School Conference Room for the election of new officers for our parish chapter. Please become a Knight of Columbus to support the work of the church, charity and spirit of fraternity and unity. Application forms are available at the rectory or from a member of our chapter. Festival XLII - mandatory meeting of all chairpersons and volunteers on Wednesday, June 3rd at 6:30pm in the school. NOVENA AND DEVOTION TO ST. JOSEPH Our weekly Novena and Devotion to Our Patron will be held on Wednesday, June 3rd at 7:00pm. We know that St. Joseph s power of intercession in Heaven is inexpressibly great therefore, let us place our boundless confidence in him in all the affairs of our life. Please write your intentions to be read during the devotion and join us for an hour of prayer and thanksgiving for graces received. Members of the St. Joseph Polish Women s Club will carry the statue from the Our Lady of Czestochowa Chapel to the Sanctuary. We are grateful for your offerings. CEMETERY ISSUES I want to thank all parishioners who joined with the Webster- Dudley Veterans Assoc. in participating in the Memorial Day tribute to all our veterans whose earthly remains are interred at St. Joseph Garden of Peace. The well trimmed appearance of the cemetery, with flags at gravesites and displayed on the fence, honoring our veterans was a welcoming and respectful site for all our visitors. We are grateful to Sylvia and Kathy Kitka, Dottie Kasierski and Pat Parslow for planting and maintaining the flowers at the main entrance, the main Cross and Columbarium. On a disturbing issue, we continue to have problems with people depositing their household refuse at the cemetery and also bringing their dogs to roam the area. Some were caught on cameras and two of them who are parishioners will be contacted. Although the signage at the main gate specifies the rules certain people are oblivious to these restrictions. Many individuals bring several dogs to run through the grounds. This is not acceptable in any cemetery. I believe the majority of these violators are not parishioners and not Catholic and do not understand the significance of the resting place of our loved ones. ST. JOSEPH SCHOOL NEWS Annual Field Day was held last Friday to the delight of everyone God created a perfect day of camaraderie, good fun and good food. The winners of the Annual Spelling Bee - sponsored by the St. Joseph Polish Women s Club were: First Place - Bartosz Mamro; Second Place - Abigail Duval and Third Place - Nolan Ciani. Congratulations to all participants. Thank You to HSA, SJS Parents and students - who took part in the Webster Memorial Day Parade. The SJS Float tastefully decorated and manned by our students was a big hit. We appreciate the presence of State Senator Ryan Fattman and State Representative Joseph McKenna who took time from their busy schedules to read to our Pre-K and K students. FRIDAY NIGHT BINGO We invite parishioners and friends to our weekly Bingo on Friday, June 5th. Doors open at 5:00pm, games begin at 6:45pm. You may be one of our lucky winners. (Mt 28:19) Dzisiejsza niedziela jest zaproszeniem, by głębiej wejść w tajemnicę Trójcy Świętej. Intelektualnie nie da się Jej ogarnąć, ale możemy w Niej zamieszkać, zanurzyć się. Jako ochrzczeni w imię Ojca i Syna, i Ducha Świętego, jesteśmy mieszkańcami Boga. Nie obcymi ani przychodniami ale Jego dziećmi, uczestniczącymi w Jego życiu. On dziś nas zaprasza do zanurzenia się samym źródle tajemnicy Miłości. PIERWSZY PIĄTEK Pierwszopiątkowa Adoracja Najświętszego Sakramentu rozpocznie się w najbliższy piątek po Mszy św. o godz. 7:00. Na tę Mszę św., która będzie ofiarowana za zmarłych członków Sacret Heart Society zaproszeni są wszyscy parafianie, a szczególnie członkowie SHS. Msza św. po polsku będzie odprawiona o godz. 19:00 z możliwością spowiedzi od godz. 18:30.

Dzięki cotygodniowym nabożeństwom i mieliśmy nie raz możliwość przekonać się, jak wspaniałym opiekunem i patronem jest św. Józef. CMENTARZ Serdecznie dziękujemy wszystkim parafianom, którzy wzięli udział w ceremonii, która odbyła się w ubiegły poniedziałek na naszym cmentarzu, ku pamięci poległych w obronie wolności i pokoju. Dziękujemy również paniom Sylwii Kitka i Dottie Kasierski oraz ich pomocnikom za posadzenie kwiatów i uporządkowanie terenu przy głównej bramie i płocie cmentarza. Borykamy się ciągle z problemem podrzucanych na cmentarz śmieci oraz psów wyprowadzanych na spacer na cmentarzu. Przypominamy, że wprowadzanie psów na teren cmentarza jest SUROWO ZABRONIONE!!!. Osoby nie przestrzegające świętości tego miejsca, będą pociągane do odpowiedzialności łącznie z karami finansowymi nakładanymi przez policję. Pracownicy cmentarza są zobowiązani do informowania policji o osobach, które nie szanują miejsca spoczynku naszych bliskich. Również osoby, które wywożą swoje domowe śmieci na cmentarz będą pociągnięte do odpowiedzialności. Obecnie przygotowujemy postepowanie przeciwko dwu osobom (naszym parafianom), którzy zostali zidentyfikowani dzięki świadkom i zamontowanym na cmentarzu kamerom. FESTIVAL Program festiwalu Piątek, 19 czerwca początek o godz. 17:00. Możliwość posmakowania wyśmienitych polskich i amerykańskich potraw. Do tańca będzie grał zespół Maestro s Men. Msza Festiwalowa. Sobota, 20 czerwca początek 12:00. W programie Talent Show, występ grupy Piast, Msza festiwalowa. Do tańca będą grali Maesto s Men oraz DJ Phou. Niedziela, 21 czerwca początek o godz. 12:00. PARTNERS IN CHARITY Bardzo serdecznie dziękujemy parafianom, którzy złożyli ofiary na Partners in Charity. Zebraliśmy już $ % wymaganej sumy. Naszą zbiórkę kończymy w najbliższą niedzielę, 7 czerwca. Ofiary pieniężne będzie można wkładać do kopert znajdujących się w ławkach. Bóg zapłać. BOŻE CIAŁO Boże Ciało na tle ponad dwutysięcznej historii Kościoła Katolickiego to stosunkowo "młode" święto. W Polsce obchodzone jest od 1320 roku. Szczególnie ważnym momentem tego święta są procesje. Boże Ciało to najprościej ujmując, uroczystość ku czci Najświętszego Sakramentu. Wierni szczególnie wspominają Ostatnią Wieczerzę i Przeistoczenie chleba i wina w Ciało i Krew Jezusa Chrystusa. Święto zawdzięczamy błogosławionej Juliannie z Cornillon ( ), opatce z klasztoru augustianek w Mont Cornillon koło Liége, która ujrzała jasną tarczę z widoczną ciemną plamą. Pod wpływem tego widzenia miejscowy biskup Robert zarządził świętowanie uroczystości Ciała i Krwi Chrystusa dla diecezji Liége. Powiernik i spowiednik Julianny, archidiakon Liége, Jacques Pantaleon z Troyes, późniejszy papież Urban IV, bullą "Transiturus" w roku 1264 ustanowił to święto dla całego Kościoła. Co istotne na papieską decyzję wpłynął także cud związany z Eucharystią we włoskiej miejscowości Bolsena, gdzie w 1263 roku hostia w rękach wątpiącego księdza zaczęła krwawić. Korporał, na który wówczas spadły krople krwi, przechowywany jest do dziś w katedrze w pobliskim Orvieto.W Polsce jako pierwszy polecił obchodzić to święto biskup Nankier w diecezji krakowskiej w 1320 roku. W naszym kraju, ale także w niektórych częściach Włoch czy Ameryki Łacińskiej obchody świętą wiążą się z procesją z Najświętszym Sakramentem po ulicach parafii. Procesja zatrzymuje się kolejno przy czterech ołtarzach, przy których czytane są fragmenty z każdej z Ewangelii związanej tematycznie z Eucharystią. Dlaczego temu świętu towarzyszy procesja? W drugiej połowie XIII wieku, podczas procesji niesiono krzyż z Najświętszym Sakramentem, nawiązując w ten sposób do zwyczaju zabierania w podróż Eucharystii dla ochrony przed niebezpieczeństwami. W XV wieku procesje eucharystyczne urządzano w Niemczech, gdzie łączono je z modlitwą błagalną o odwrócenie nieszczęść i dobrą pogodę, w Anglii, Francji, północnych Włoszech i w Polsce, od czasu zakwestionowania tych praktyk przez reformację, udział w procesji traktowano jako publiczne wyznanie wiary i tak jest do dziś. W naszej Parafii uroczysta procesja na Boże Ciało odbędzie się w najbliższą niedzielę po Mszy św. o godz. 11:00. Na wyraźną prośbę ks. proboszcza z parafii Sacred Heart powracamy do tradycji wspólnego świętowania tej Uroczystości. Procesja Eucharystyczna rozpocznie się w naszej Bazylice i zakończy przy kościele Sacred Heart.
