May our prayers today help us to recognize God s work in and among us, and to feel God s presence and peace in the midst of whatever life brings. 3 Page 3 ST. JOSEPH SCHOOL 125th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION Next Sunday, October 15, our school will celebrate 125 years of existence. This major accomplishment could never have happened without our Felician Sisters, our parishioners, and, of course, our well-rounded and well-educated students. All parishioners should join together as a testament to our faith and to our school s excellent accomplishments. Your presence at Mass and the banquet for this momentous occasion reflects your pride and confidence in St. Joseph Parish and School. Your obligation to be part of this important event is immeasurable. Bishop Robert McManus will be the main celebrant and homilist at the 11am liturgy. After Mass, we will enjoy a delicious lunch of Roast Beef and Turkey, Soup, Salad, Mashed Potatoes, and Belgium Baby Carrots at the Auburn-Webster Elks in Auburn. This family-style meal is available for a donation of $35 with a children s buffet offered for a $10 donation consisting of chicken tenders, macaroni & cheese, hot dogs, French fries, and fruit punch. Please contact the school at (508) or the rectory at (508) for your tickets. The Felician Sisters are also celebrating 125 years at St. Joseph School. Since the arrival of four Sisters in September 1892, the school and Parish have been served by Felician Sisters. Their spirituality of St. Francis of Assisi and Blessed Mary Angela Truszkowska inspires them to proclaim God s love to all, in the classroom and at Parish events. Please take time to thank our wonderful Felician Sisters for their watch over our school and children. October is Rosary Month. Rosary devotions will be held daily at 7pm, on Saturdays at 3:30pm before the 4pm Mass, and on Sundays after the 11am Mass. This is your opportunity to make the Rosary a daily part of your life not only in church but also at home. The Blessed Mother requested this in her apparitions in Fatima with world peace as the intentions. The Rosary is the most recognizable Catholic devotion. Sadly, it is a devotion that has fallen out of fashion for many Catholics. This is deeply unfortunate as the Rosary is one of the most powerful activities and spiritual aids in our pursuit of a fruitful spiritual life. Among the most common excuses of failing to pray the Rosary one hears is that it s boring or that it takes too much time. What many of us are unaware of, however, are the many benefits promises from Our Lady herself associated with its faithful recitation. The most amazing thing about the Rosary is that Mary made 15 promises to those who recite it daily. Come and pray and learn what those promises are. To our Parish Children: Father Gregory has begun his distribution of Our Lady of Fatima collectible stickers for each weekday you attend Rosary devotions. Don t forget that a special gift will be given at month s end to those who have collected the daily stickers! PACC Members Meeting to be held on Sunday, October 22, at 1:00pm. This meeting is open to members and whomever else may want to learn more about the PACC. Please note that only current members will be able to vote on issues but new memberships are being accepted and 2018 dues can be paid. A quorum of 17 members is needed for this meeting. CANDLELIGHT PROCESSION This Friday, October 13, at 7pm is the final service of the year honoring Our Lady of Fatima. This year s beautiful solemnity coincides with the 100th anniversary of the Fatima apparitions and the 125th anniversary of St. Joseph School. Therefore, for the outdoor procession and the praying of the Rosary, we invite the students and their parents to participate in this devotional service in a spirit of gratitude for this significant milestone in the life of our school. The Children of Mary and their parents are invited to take part in this beautiful tribute to the Blessed Mother on the occasion of the 125th school anniversary. The flowers in front of the Blessed Mother Altar for Our Lady of Fatima are given by Mr. Roland Malboeuf in memory of his mother, Lucy A. Malboeuf. VOTIVE MASS AND NOVENA TO ST. JOSEPH This Wednesday, October 11, we will have devotions to our Patron Saint at 7pm. St. Joseph is a patron saint of so many people who experience a variety of needs and, through prayer, will encounter his powerful intercessions for those needs. On the provided petition cards, please write your intentions and they will be read during the devotions. This week, the Parish Council will carry St. Joseph s statue into the sanctuary. St. Vincent de Paul message-the good news of this gospel is that all we need to do is let God tend us and bring us to produce good fruit. All we need do is be faithful; God will take care of the rest. Please help the Society of St. Vincent de Paul to bring the love and mercy of Jesus to those who feel left out and abandoned. DONATIONS St. Joseph School Gymnasium a donation of $25 was given in memory of Esther Reynolds by Reine Gorski and family. St. Joseph School an anonymous donation of $40 for tuition assistance. Thank you to our Parishioners who gave to our Fall Catholic School Appeal. Our students are grateful for your donations of $2,240. Your generosity is greatly appreciated! OFFICE OF RELIGIOUS EDUCATION No classes this Monday, October 9, due to Columbus Day. 4 Page 4 The John Paul II Foundation is celebrating its 35th Anniversary on Sunday, Oct. 29, at 3pm. The celebration will be held at the PNI Club in Worcester MA. Our chapter is associatedated with the foundation established in the Vatican by Pope John Paul II in 1981 and was the first chapter outside of Rome. The foundation is working together with its Vatican counterpart providing scholarships and educating the future leaders of the Church outside of the European Union. Flyers are on display in our Basilica. November Cash Calendars are available after all Masses from Dottie Kasierski and Pat Parslow who will be at the entrances to our Basilica. A donation of $10 will give you 30 chances to win with the Grand Prize of $500 to be drawn on Thursday, November 30. All proceeds benefit St. Joseph Basilica. Cursillo means short course in Christianity and is an uplifting and educational experience. KRONIKA PARAFIALNA DWUDZIESTA SIÓDMA NIEDZIELA ZWYKŁA 8 października 2017 Właśnie ten kamień, który odrzucili budujący, stał się głowicą węgła. (Mt 21, 42) Dzisiejsza przypowieść Pana Jezusa przypomina nam o tym, że winnica nie należy do nas, że tylko w niej pracujemy, że zostaliśmy do niej zaproszeni. Co to oznacza? Że nasze życie nie należy do nas, że to nie my jesteśmy jego twórcami, jego właścicielami, tymi, którzy wzięli sobie życie, na życie sobie zapracowali. Jesteśmy tymi, którzy zostali do życia zaproszeni. Tymi, których Bóg wpuścił do swojej winnicy po to, żebyśmy uczciwie w niej pracowali i oddali mu wyprodukowany owoc. Bóg dał nam życie i On sam je zabierze. Bóg przygotował nam piękne życie, przygotował winnice, w której można być szczęśliwym, jeśli się kocha gospodarza. Warto o tym pamiętać. Moje życie nie należy do mnie. Nie dałem ani grosza za ostatnie dziesięć lat czy za ostatni dzień. Nie dałem ani grosza Panu Bogu za ostatnie uderzenie serca, a także za tysiąc następnych oddechów. Moje życie nie należy do mnie. To dar, który Pan Bóg ofiarował mi, żebym z niego pięknie korzystał. COLUMBUS DAY Na poniedziałek, 9 października przypadają obchody Columbus Day. 5 NOWY ORGANISTA Po długim wyczekiwaniu z radością witamy naszego nowego organistę, pana Karola Jaje. Życzymy mu wielu sukcesów i owocnej pracy w naszej wspólnocie. RYCERZE KOLUMBA W sobotę, 7 października na Mszy św. o godz. 16:00 zostaną oficjalnie zatwierdzeni nowi członkowie zarządu Rycerzy Kolumba. Po Mszy, wszyscy członkowie i ich rodziny są zaproszeni na poczęstunek do szkolnej kafeteri. JUBILEUSZ 125 LAT SZKOŁY Za tydzień, 15 października będziemy celebrowali jubileusz 125 istnienia naszej szkoły i bycia przykładem dla innych w formacji nowych pokoleń chrześcijan. To wielkie osiągniecie nie miałoby miejsca bez zaangażowania parafian, Sióstr Felicjanek, i oczywiście naszych uczniów. Z tego względu wszyscy powinniśmy włączyć się w tą spaniała celebrację. Wyraźmy w ten sposób naszą wiarę i dumę z naszej wspólnoty parafialnej i szkolnej. Uroczysta liturgia rozpocznie się o godz. 11:00. Przewodniczyć jej będzie Ks. Bp Robert McManus wraz z wieloma zaproszonymi księżmi. Po Mszy zgromadzimy się na obiedzie w Auburn/Webster Lodge of Elks w Auburn. Bilety w cenie $35 od osoby dorosłej oraz $10 od dziecka są dostępne na plebanii. NABOŻEŃSTWO FATIMSKIE W piątek, 13 października zgromadzimy się na uroczystej procesji ku czci Matki Bożej Fatimskiej. Zapraszamy do wspólnej modlitwy różańcowej i świadectwa wiary oraz przywiązania do naszej niebieskiej Matki. 125 SIÓSTR FELICJANEK Siostry Felicjanki celebrują 125 obecności w Szkole św. Józefa. Posługują one w naszej wspólnocie od września Ich obecność inspirowana duchowością św. Franciszka i błogosławionej Marii Angeli Truszkowskiej widoczna jest w świadectwie wiary i Bożej miłości zarówno w klasie jak i podczas wydarzeń parafialnych. Pamiętajmy o nich w naszych dziękczynnych modlitwach. GRUPA WSPARCIA Najbliższe spotkanie Grupy Wsparcia odbędzie się we wtorek, 17 października o godz. 18:00. W związku ze sporą ilością uczestników spotkanie odbędzie się w szkole. Na spotkanie zaproszony jest każdy, kto doświadczył utraty bliskiej osoby i zmaga się ze związanymi z tym przeżyciami.
