From the Pastor s Desk... I want to express our gratitude to the priests and the people who participated in the festival of forgiveness in our parish last week. I believe and pray that this experience will have a great impact on their Lenten journey and entire lives. Our new Archbishop, Bp. Blase Cupich celebrated Mass in all 6 Vicariates of our Archdiocese to get to better know the priests and the people of this local Chicago Church. We are part of Vicariate IV and our Vicar is Bishop John Manz. We participated at the Mass with Archbishop in Vicariate VI on Monday, February 16 at St. Domitilla Parish. We want to extend greetings and blessings we received from our Archbishop to all of you. We thank all who participated in the Annual Catholic Appeal for their generous pledges. Those who didn t participate yet can do it at any time by filling out and returning the pledge forms located in the back of the church. Our goal this year was $37, 492 and so far we have received over $30, 000 in pledges. Out of this pledged amount, over $12, 000 has been already collected. Every one who made a pledge should wait for the reminder of payment that will come from the Archdiocese. Thank you for your support. I would like to encourage you to save the date for our Lenten Retreat, St. Joseph s Table, and the Food Drive as a part of our Lenten Penance. Details are in this bulletin. Z biurka Ks. Proboszcza... Pragnę podziękować kapłanom i wiernym, którzy uczestyniczyli w Festiwalu Przebaczenia w naszej parafii w ubiegłym tygodniu. Let s all take encouragement from these words of Pope John Paul II: I would now like to say a special word to women who have had an abortion. The Church is aware of the many factors which may have influenced your decision, and she does not doubt that in many cases it was a painful and even shattering decision. The wound in your heart may not yet have healed. Certainly what happened was and remains terribly wrong. But do not give in to discouragement and do not lose hope. Try rather to understand what happened and face it honestly. If you have not already done so, give yourselves over with humility and trust to repentance. The Father of mercies is ready to give you his forgiveness and his peace in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. To the same Father and to his mercy you can with sure hope entrust your child.
