In many ways, the church is still being born. Only when we all know the peace Jesus offered in today s Gospel will we really know the fullness of the Holy Spirit. St. Paul assures us in today s second reading that all of us have been given to drink of the one Spirit. When we look around us in the church we should see everyone. But we don t. Not yet. What is holding us back from fully embracing the one Body of Christ? When will we see our differences as manifestations of the same Holy Spirit? Page 3 Solemnity of Pentecost Announcing the Jubilee Year of Mercy, Pope Francis challenged us to proclaim God s mercy to everyone without exception... again and again, with new enthusiasm and renewed pastoral action. Pentecost proclaims that the door locked for fifty days is thrown open at last. No longer closed in on itself, the community speaks to crowds from different backgrounds, distant lands, exotic languages. Everyone hears their native language. The Spirit does not restore Babel s uniformity, but forges unity-in-diversity of language, race, nationality embracing all without exception. During this Jubilee Year of Mercy, Pentecost s Spirit summons us afresh from mediocrity and isolation to share God s mercy with the world. This is our mission! Francis exclaims. We are given the gift of the tongue of the Gospel and the fire of the Holy Spirit, so that while we proclaim Jesus risen, living and present in our midst, we may warm... the heart of the peoples, drawing near to Him, the way, the truth, and the life. FORTY HOURS DEVOTION This Sunday, May 15th, our parish begins our Forty Hours Devotion with the exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and adoration after 11:00am Mass. At 4:00pm we invite you to Stearns Vespers with homily in Polish and English by Fr. Gregory Zielinski. On Monday, May 16th we invite religious education students with their parents for devotional opportunities at 7:00pm. On Tuesday, May 17th at 7:00pm we conclude Forty Hours devotion with homily in English by Fr. Jonathan Slavinskas, followed by Litany to All Saints and outdoor procession. KRONIKA PARAFIALNA UROCZYSTOŚĆ ZESŁANIE DUCHA ŚWIĘTEGO 15 maja 2016 Wszyscyśmy bowiem w jednym Duchu zostali ochrzczeni, aby stanowić jedno Ciało. (1Kor 12, 13a) Posiadamy już pierwsze dary Ducha. To znaczy, że rośnie w nas i nabiera kształtu królestwo Boże, nowe stworzenie. Nie jesteśmy wygnańcami, ale dziedzicami; nie jesteśmy już poza Bogiem, ale w Jego domu, a On przebywa w nas. Dar Ducha Świętego świadczy o tym, że Bogu zależy na nas bardziej niż nam samym. On sam modli się w nas, gdy my nie umiemy. Przenika nasze serca, abyśmy potrafili kochać. Właśnie dlatego strumienie ożywiającej wody Ducha Świętego mogą popłynąć z naszego wnętrza. Ta woda jest nowością dla świata. Page 5 ZESŁANIE DUCHA ŚWIĘTEGO Duch Święty jest Boskim darem dla Kościoła i świata, który wprowadza pierwotny porządek Boży: pozwala zachowywać Boże przykazania w Duchu miłości Boga i bliźniego. Jest to porządek przywrócony przez Chrystusa na krzyżu i wdrażany po Jego śmierci i zmartwychwstaniu w Duchu wzajemnej miłości Ojca i Syna zlanego na Kościół w dniu Pięćdziesiątnicy. Po Mszy św. o godz. 11:00 rozpocznie się adoracja Najświętszego Sakramentu, która potrwa do godz. 16:00 i zakończy się uroczystymi Nieszporami. Homilię w czasie Neszporów wygłosi ks.
