On Christmas, Our Lord calls us all to see his presence in all people. Blessed are you who walk kindly by my side, for in your friendship I feel good to be myself. Blessed are you who never bid me to hurry up, and more blessed, you who do not snatch a task from my hands and do it for me, for often I need time rather than help. Blessed are you who ask my help and realize my gifts and abilities, for you help me to believe in myself. Luego de haber conmemorado el Jubileo de la Misericordia y grac ias también a que estamos en el comienzo de un camino de renovación dentro de la Arquidiócesis de Chicago, nos encontramos con una nueva esperanza en nuestros corazones. Pero no es en nuestras propias fuerzas que encontramos la fuente de nuestra esperanza. Con la Virgen María reconocemos que nuestra esperanza proviene de Dios. Cuando su hijo se hizo carne en su vientre, ella proclamó, Dios se acordó de su misericordia, como lo había prometido. El nacimiento de su hijo Jesús es también el nacimiento de nuestra esperanza verdadera y perdurable. En este tiempo, nos encontramos amenazados de distintas maneras. Juntos enfrentamos la plaga de la guerra, la violencia, y una ausencia de respeto por la vida y por la dignidad de todas las personas. En un plano personal, luchamos de diversas maneras, ya sea con cuestiones de la familia, del trabajo o la enfermedad o cuando intentamos hacer lo correcto. Aun así, esperamos, porque Dios ha visitado a su pueblo. Oren conmigo para que nuestra celebración del nacimiento de Jesús pueda renovar verdaderamente nuestra esperanza en Dios, La única esperanza que nos puede mantener en nuestra travesía. Skończyliśmy obchody Jubileuszu Miłosierdzia i rozpoczęliśmy no wą drogę odnowy w Archidiecezji Chicago. W nasze serca wstąpiła nowa nadzieja. Jej źródłem nie są nasze własne siły. Wraz z Najświętszą Maryją Panną jesteśmy świadomi tego, że nasza nadzieja pochodzi od Boga. Kiedy Jej Syn począł się w Jej łonie, Maryja powiedziała: Bóg pomny na swe miłosierdzie. Narodzenie Jej Syna Jezusa jest również narodzeniem naszej prawdziwej i niekończącej się nadziei. Obecnie odczuwamy, że jesteśmy poddawani wielu próbom. Stoimy w obliczu plagi wojny, przemocy i braku szacunku dla życia i godności wszystkich ludzi. W życiu osobistym każdy z nas boryka się z jakimiś trudnościami są to problemy rodzinne lub problemy związane z pracą, choroba lub wysiłek wkładany w dokonanie słusznego wyboru. Jednak wciąż żyjemy nadzieją, ponieważ Bóg nawiedził swój lud. Módlcie się wraz ze mną, aby nasze świętowanie narodzin Jezusa prawdziwie odnowiło naszą nadzieję w Bogu, jedyną nadzieję, która podtrzymuje nas w drodze. National Migration Week 2017 January 8 14, 2017 National Migration Week is celebrated annually during the first full week of January. It is a time designated by the U.S. Catholic Bishops to remember the journey of the Holy Family as they had to live in the shadows and cross the border into Egypt to escape death at the hands of King Herod. The Church calls parishes, Catholic schools and religious communities to a heightened awareness of the difficult journey of today s immigrants and to work as a community so migrants can step out of the darkness.
